I declare my retirement as a Cricket fan

The laws only seem to affect Punjab and Haryana Farmers. I wonder why there are no movements against farm laws in the rest of India.

Telling farmers to sell their produce to the highest bidder and avoiding middleman is the issue.

If Farmers have issues and concerns, they should discuss peacefully. Not by doing thuggery on the streets, blocking roads, bringing thousands of tractors to Delhi and running them over police is not the way to do.

Myopia seems to be ever-present these days...

Seems like these farmers are quite rich.

They will never give a proper answer to that question.

Unfortunately that is true, there are many evasive replies like "go look elsewhere".

What thuggery have farmers done?

Rather this is in fact a one of a kind historical protest in Indian history where lacs of people have joined and yet no looting and rapes.

26th Jan remains a one off incident, but that's what moh does when you instigate them and farmers have already condemned the act.

It's the GOI which is doing thuggery.

Fc, the issue is there is division among the farmers themselves.

Should you believe the demands of farmers of punjab, haryana should be met at the expanse of other farmers from rest of the states where the new system actually benefits them and hence there's no participation from them?

Out of curiosity why can’t these laws be on state level? In US agricultural laws are largely state based with some federal oversight

@Freelance bhaijaan is there no way we can find an amicable solution for you to carry on as a cricket fan? You are an integral part of this forum and community.

I have to agree with you. If Punjab farmers love their middle men so much, then they should be given that right. The rest of the country do not have to suffer due to Panjus and Haryanavis.

Blocking highways, running over law enforcement etc. if they want to protest, they can do it in a place where regular citizens are not forced to suffer.

Get out of this us vs you mentality. You cannot stop the laws because 2 states in India do not like them.

Are you a bhakt?

If yes, then there's no point sharing facts with you.

If yes, then there's no point sharing facts with you.

If you are asked "what is a legitimate demand by the protesting farmers?" you reply "it was explained elsewhere".

If you are given examples of thuggery by the protesting farmers, you reply is to call the poster a bhakt.

You show no awareness of the issues behind the farmers' protests, but want to quit the cricket forum because Tendulkar supported the government. You are quite the drama queen.

Didn't Dhoni push the military camo cap thing during the Pakistan-India Pilot clash and join the Army when the whole financial scandal thing was on his head ?

Whilst this post wasn't aimed at me, you need to appreciate this is a huge protest. Many of these protesters who have been killed would have cheered Tendulkar on every run he made. They would have celebrated India's wins and agonised at India's losses.

Then you have Tendulkar, who dismisses all the farmers protests as "An internal issue".

If you can't see how pathetic and tone deaf he was, then I'm not sure what you expect in terms of an opposing opinion.

Its no different to hypocrites like Priyanka Chopra talking about peace for cheap publicity, but then getting embarrassingly called out when she was promoting the Indian Army's war rhetoric (like other celebs) during the Pilot show down incident

These people are deluded, shameless and would gladly make dangerous comments for the sake of clout and self agrandizement

Protestors have been killed by whom/what and around how many?

This is a strange logic. Because the protesting farmers cheered Tendulkar when he played for the country, he should therefore not express his opinion?

Obviously some people believe that the new laws are good for the country (the government won't pass laws which are good for no one), while others believe they are not. So a discussion is merited, and if someone expresses an opinion (Tendulkar or whoever) then one can debate their opinion and the merits and demerits of of their position instead of name calling (bhakts, hypocrites etc.) and throwing tantrums like "I won't post on Indian cricket".

This is sound logic. Tendulkar entertained those farmers for all those years, so they should repay by respecting his opinion.

Tendulkar isn't just any person.

India has a massive people following culture. Tendulkar is a hero in India.

I mean, Donald Trump mispronounced his name on his visit and Indians were cheering and shaking in joy at that alone.

Saying it is an "Internal Issue" knowing full well how one sided the BJP Rhetoric has been on the CAA, Kashmir Bill, Calls to stop "Love Jihad", Frenzied policy against Pakistan, "Recognising non Muslim Refugees only" etc etc. Shows that the BJP have their own nefarious agenda.

It would have been better for Sachin to stay visibility neutral. I mean had he been vocal in support of minorities and criticising aggressive BJP Policy in the past then fair enough. As it stands, he is a stooge

Tendulkar will say what he wants to. He is under no compulsion to say what XYZ wants to hear. He may actually support the bjp like millions of Indians do. Its neither wrong nor a crime.

I dont think you will find many Indians disagreeing with Bjp on pakistan policy. People have supported bjp by giving them votes on this issue.

Neither should India recognise muslim refugees from BD or Pak.

It actually isn't the "huge" protest as it is getting portrayed in media. The issue is, the states protesting are nearer to Delhi and hence any commotion will attract attention. CAA was a huge protest with both pro and anti groups in huge numbers involving every person across India.

The farmers protest is not present in most of the states. In north east, the opposition against bill is non existent.

Tendulkar voiced for the farmers. Only difference is, it followed the sentiments of the farmers who are not protesting and not who are protesting.

Living outside India, one could only get a partial picture of the whole scenario. This bill, Since majority states support, will get granted. The farmers protest, if it wants to make more influence, it needs to bring farmers from the rest of the states into the umbrella. Otherwise it will be a uphill battle since majority of the farmers are in support of the bill except the two states.

The Supreme Court on Friday issued notice on a petition filed by BJP leader Vinit Goenka, seeking a direction to the Central Government to devise a mechanism to check fake news and instigative messages being circulated on social media platforms, including Twitter, according to Live Law.

In May last year, BJP leader Vinit Goenka had filed the petition to create a mechanism to review Twitter content and hateful advertisements. It also urged to curb fake news revolving around hundreds of fake accounts on Twitter inciting hate propaganda in the nation
