What's new

ICC CT 2017, 1st Semi-final | England v Pakistan | 14th June, 2017 | Cardiff | England Innings

I have watched every England ODI series since the 2015 WC, and I've never seen them shut down like this by an opposition bowling attack.

Their 1st innings average score is 306 since the 2015 WC.

Yes they collapsed to 153 vs South Africa but that was on a dead rubber on a green track.

When Pressure is ON, Eng batters are bottling it  Chances of IND vs PAK final is getting higher by each wicket.

Always knew they're the chokers of highest caliber when under the pump, too much hype regarding this English lineup which in my view is a bit OTT, people were overestimating them on this forum but deep inside I was assured that they've the tendency to capitulate if pressure is exerted by good tight bowling. England is still lagging far behind Aussies interms of quality of cricket and this is why I fancy our prospects against them compared to Australia in a knockout game.

we do have to bat well though coz englands bowlers arent a push over..and with hafeez and droopy mcdroopy malik in the side we are already two down..

Stokes has been able to read the googly very well. Shadab's googly isnt as well disguised as rashid of Afg.

Mickey and the coaching staff have done there homework. The bowlers have been brilliant

The good thing is stokes is still there, hopefully he will keep wasting balls.

Can't. Stop. Laughing.

I'm watching this game as a neutral with a couch full of neutrals, and we're all cracking up.

Rumman should bowl to adil. He will be too clever for adil rashid.

i still won't cheer, have seen how they batted against India and Srilnka and im dead sure, if not for the rain, Pak would have crumbled against SA

This has the potential to be one of our most heartbreaking defeats.

Who will make it. ... :) crossing 200 is now difficult for them.

A bit of an overeach, 30 runs with 4 wickets isn't too tough especially since England have a long tail and bowlers who can bat.

However from this position, I'd be disappointed if we didn't get them out under 240. Bowlers have bowled well. It's funny, not too along ago the bowling attack looked toothless but now all of a sudden it looks fairly good in the last few matches of CT. Amir might even struggle to get back into the team now.

Harsh comparison. Shadab is a rookie playing on a different surface. Age is with Shadab. I dunno how old the Afghan is.

No need to be negative lol, enjoy it, we're ahead and this is a good bowling performance. If we end up bottling it at the end, then we'll cry then. Time to live in the moment now though :).

Hasan Ali pulled that one off against SA.

I mean in terms of being a tournament defining catch that gives us belief we can go all the way. Many look back to that Afridi catch as being the start of something special.

Hopefully that Fakhar catch was that moment.

Need to bring Imad on. He may trouble Stokes who can annihilate Pakistan in the last few overs.

There is one record today so far, if I am not mistaken - one can look at the scorecard & tell me what.

Or another one of our classic out of nowhere wins... lets be real here, we were all expecting to conced 350+ and be bundled out for 200.

Nope. Plenty of people (like me) said Pak were favourites, Pak should chase and anything less than 275 Pak should win.

And they said English batting will put up an insurmountable total. We will be laughing all the way to the final :))) :))) :)))

290.

If by par, you mean a score with a 50% chance of winning with two equal teams.

Don't be tempted to judge par according to what is happening in this game. England have failed totally.

Pak is also the team which chased the highest score on this ground (304 vs England).

240 from here is too far. Not gonnna make it.
