Title says it all. We need Amir, Fahim and Haris back in place of Imad, Azhar and Hafeez. So we can give torrid time to the opposition.
Our bowling line up should be

Amir
Junaid
Hasan,
Rumman
Fahim
Sadab

Your thought please.

How do we bring back amir in the final game? Drop rumman raees?

Raees has bowled well, everyone else have bowled well, who will amir replace in the final

If youngster play like this, drop Hafeez, Malik!

Yes!

if the youngsters can [lay like this under Srfraz, then drop Hafeez and Malik...

A win over the FAVOURITES is a massive achievement, and may we win this tournament

A Free Hit at winning at all!

Quite literally a Free Hit for this team. No one expected them to reach the semi-finals, let alone finals and then let ALONE smashing the home team in such emphatic fashion. All of the players should go out there in London and give it their all regardless of who they play. No pressure whatsoever.

Pakistan Playing XI for Champions Trophy Final

I would go for 1 change

Imad Out- Fahim in

Oval is bouncy track, and Imad is too easy for Indians and his batting is non-existent

One change should definitely happen, drop Raees for Amir.

Another change that should be considered is Fahim in for Shadab.

Shadab was much better than Imad against India on 4th june

If a spinner has to be dropped it has to be Imad

Imad is a better batsman. Also he is left handed.

Imad is very good at making the ball suitable for reverse-swing.

Imad is more experienced than Shadab.

Imad is an economical bowler.

Imad should play, in my opinion.

I will drop either imad or shadab and bring back Aamir.

A bowling line up of

Aamir
Junaid
Hasan
Raeese

Looks so much better... Aamir can bat too.

Drop Imad for Fahim.
Drop Shadab for Amir.

1. Azhar
2. Fakhar
3. Babar
4. Sarfraz
5. Malik
6. Hafeez
7. Fahim
8. Amir
9. Hasan
10. Junaid
11. Raees

Imad is a nothing bowler.

This Job can be done by Hafeez and his success rate against India is better

We already have 2 spinners in Hafeez and Malik. Don't need any more. So Shahdab and Imad out.

We will be playing against India with 5 Fast Bowlers and 2 spinners:

Fast Bowlers:
1) Amir
2) Junaid
3) Roman
4) Hassan
5) Fahim Ashraf

Spinners:
1) Hafeez
2) Malik

Our strength is pace bowling. Fast ruthless bowling. Play to our strength and not India's which is spin. Whatever the conditions are.

Fakhar
Hafeez

Babar
Haris
Safraz
Malik
Fahim

Amir
Junaid
Hassan
Rumman

Go in with 5 pacers is the way to defeat india. For spin we have hafeez and malik if needed but just pace India out.

We have fakhar who can give us a great start and Hafeez I would bank to support him with a decent sr rather than Azhar even tho Azhar has done ok but no gambles in the final.
Azhar is still abit slow. Hafeez showed today that he is more than capable of hitting a few and seeing Fakhar may wake him up too.
Babar has found some form back so the middle order with Haris gives us more batsman.
We have Fahim who can give us some much needed firepower and also bowl some overs too.

Rest we can leave to the tail and we all know what they can do when bowling.

Thats my line up.

I wouldn't change the lineup drastically for the final, it's needless to say, a tad late for that.

Here's my squad for the final:

1) Azhar Ali
2) Fakhar Zaman
3) Babar Azam
4) Mohammad Hafeez
5) Sarfraz Ahmed
6) Shoaib Malik/Fahim
7) Shahdab Khan
8) Mohammad Amir
9) Ruman Raees
10) Hasan Ali
11) Junaid Khan

Conclusion:
1) Few surprises in there for India
2) Players with form (mostly)
3) Imad will not take any wickets vs India. Shahdab is more of a wicket taking option, better fielder and not bad with the bat.
4) Fahim seems a very good player but India will have no trouble playing him, besides need at least two spinners for a balanced, varied bowling attack and Fahim would mean one too many pacers. Although his batting could make all the difference, in the end it's a tough call to leave him out (Malik seems to be finding the fielders, so who knows he may just play- it's not like Fahim could do any worse).

What say you, folks?

How is the pitch of Oval`?
Does the pitch support the spinners more then the pace bowlers?

The fact the title says final and then Pakistan next to it shows how remarkable this achievement is. Our tournament was logically meant to be over after the South Africa game or at least today but we keep on going.

I'm not sure the spinners will do a great deal against India, regardless of the pitch. As you witnessed last game, India started fairly pedestrian, then aptly gained much needed impetus towards the end. Spinners failed to turn up.

While the Pakistani bowling performance today was very impressive, please do not forget that India's bowling performance against Pakistan and SA was even more impressive.

I think, if India is in the finals, it will have the same team as it did on June 4. Umesh Yadav had figures of 7.4 -1-30-3 in that game, so my guess is that he will be back and Ashwin will be dropped.

Blow them away with pace.

Amir
Junaid
Hasan
Raees
Imad/Hafeez

Death hi hogayeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

:salute :salute

This is not 1983 with India taking on the mighty WI. This is Pakistan taking on India, and the pressure is always there.

Drop Imad for Amir.

That means you can bowl at the death with Amir and Rumman both

Hafeez and Shadab can play the role of spinner.Even Malik and Azhar.

Like the England game I'll remain optimistic. I won't be expecting the victory but I will never rule it out as we are Pakistan at the end of the day, that's if India win (most likely). If Bangladesh get in the final I'm confident the Champions Trophy is coming home.

Main difference between the first Pak vs Ind game is Fakhar and no Selfie King. Then we've got phaast Wahab out of the team and instead Junaid who's been pretty impressive. Hasan has regained confidence and we must go all out with the fast bowlers. Our fielding also let us down as we dropped Kohli and Yuvraj which could've been match changing wickets but after Fakhar's catch today it's looking like we are more alert in the field.

What a final we could have:yk2

Ruman will miss out for Amir, it should really be Malik who is dropped for the final.

Before the tournament began, all Pakistan and neutral fans alike agreed that if any side were to win a game, it had to be on the back of its batting. The flattest pitches in the world, batsman friendly rules, bigger bats, batting friendly conditions and average bowlers being the norm, everything was tailor made for big totals, big sixes, big hundreds and mammoth sized innings. However, as we stand one match short to the final, this certainly was not the case. At least not for Pakistan, it wasn't.

In every match Pakistan played, the batting was shambolic - even in the matches they won. You could make a case for the last match having been won convincingly, but I feel as though had stumping chance of Hafeez had not been missed by Buttler, a collapse could have been certainly been on the cards because after all, you never know with Pakistan, especially when they're chasing. So this completely negates and disproves the statement that you cannot win a match in the Champions Trophy solely on the base of your bowling because Pakistan did and they're in the final.

Now this means that we need to go in with a bowling heavy side because that gives us a better chance of winning. If a collapse begins, there's no batsman that can stop it anyway so there's no point in dropping a good bowler just to play an all rounder or a batsman.

In an ideal world, both Hafeez and Azhar Ali would be dropped for the final to make place for Amir and Fahim Ashraf. But we all know that's not going to happen. They've been persisted with after abysmal failures, so I don't expect them to be dropped after somewhat better outings. Therefore, I'm going to give a more pragmatical option. You drop Imad. Now, I really like Imad and some posters here are aware of that but the opportunity cost of not playing Imad is playing Rumman Raees, instead of dropping him for Amir. And that certainly weighs out the former idea. Imad is a very good bowler and even good batsmen fail to pick him. His batting his most vital, where he can slog sixes down the order however, as I previously stated, batting is not needed, we need to beef up our bowling as much as we can and then solely rely on that.

Rumman Raees is an unknown quantity and has the ability, variation and pace to trouble an Indian batting line up who have been prolific against spinners and not so much versus fast bowlers. I personally think that Rumman Raees, Mohammad Amir, Junaid Khan, Hasan Ali and Shadab Khan being in the same line up is an absolute necessity. While this does give our batting a shady look, Pakistan needs to realise that it is its bowling that has always won it matches and the trend will continue in the future.

Team needs to be made based on pitch and conditions. Can't throw names around like this. At least 9 out of 11 are confirmed.

Imad is a better batsman. Also he is left handed.

Imad is very good at making the ball suitable for reverse-swing
.

Imad is more experienced than Shadab.

Imad is an economical bowler.

Imad should play, in my opinion.

how?

I was thinking amir should be in for imad... but if imad helps to extract reverse-swing then he should play and drop shadab...

Pakistan's chances of winning the final in LONDON are 20%

The pitch has NOTHING FOR BOWLERS, the team with best batsmen will win! a rain a day before the match can help if the pitch is uncovered at night...

This is how Pakistan can win:

Drop Junaid for Amir.

Drop Shadab for Faheem.

Junaid and Shadab are the type of bowlers the Indians love to feast on. Junaid got fluky wickets under clouds against past it cricketers in 2012-13, he is not the same bowler against India that many posters here make him out to be.

Amir has shown again and again that he is an excellent bowler to have, although he won't pick up many wickets, he will be economical and create extra pressure.

India have not faced Raees previously and he looks like a clever customer.

Hassan will come back stronger.

Unfortunately we won't be able to launch off Wahab again, nor will we be able to get that many runs this time as Amir couldn't bowl at the death and Imad was forced to play the final over.

It will be tighter than what many think, but if the above 2 changes take place, then its Pakistans game.

Good luck to my Pakistani bros.

Bla bla bla.
Thanks for the great post.

These guys are in the zone and the balls will fly of the pitch ... dry wicket, bounce, swing, flat or what ever....

Pakistan Playing X1 For Final Of CT2017

In My Opinion Both Team India or Bangladesh Play Spin Bowling Very Well So Pakistan Should Go With This LineUp

Azhar Ali
Fakhar Zaman
Babar Azam
Mohammad Hafeez
Shoaib Malik
Sarfraz Ahmad
Fahim Ashraf
Mohammad Amir
Hassan Ali
Rumman Raees
Junaid Khan

what is your opinion?

Fakhar
Hafeez
Babar
Haris
Malik
Sarfraz
Fahim
Shadab
Amir
Hassan
Junaid

Rumman bowled well but Amir should come back in for him

If india in final then all indian batsman play spin very well so we don't go with shahdab and imad if we need spin bowling then Malik and Hafeez will be there in playing X1

Still cant believe we got to make such a thread. What a performance by the boys

We need imad to rough up the ball for reverse swing...

Sorry if i sound stupid asking this, but what exactly Imad does to rough up the ball for reverse swing ? I mean is it something so 'special' that Hafeez or other spinners can't do ? What exactly he does ? I've been hearing about it a lot the entire day so it would be very nice of you if you could explain, thanks.

Quick question folks if the match on Sunday is rained out meaning no result who would win, would the trophy be shared or would the winner be India as an example since they finished higher than Pakistan or would their be a reserved day

Fakhar
Hafeez
Babar
Haris
Malik
Sarfraz
Fahim
Shadab
Amir
Hassan
Junaid

Rumman bowled well but Amir should come back in for him

You're going to need Rumaan and his bowling ability against india.

Amir-Junaid-Hasan-Rumaan-Shahdab

or you can play

Amir-Junaid-Hasan-Rumaan-Fahim

The Definition of mediocrity aka Immad Out , Fahim Ashraf In
Raees Out , Amir in

I could be wrong, but I seem to remember reading somewhere that India as group toppers would win. But no chance of that happening. Rain is predicted in the range of 2% to 6%. Many games with rain predicted between 30% to 70% were actually completed.

Fahim Ashraf to bowl to india on a road???? (Wahab riaz went for 100 runs recently).

Chucker Hafeez and Shadab are there as well as the three pacers. So Faheem will be fine.
10 overs by Shadab, Amir and Hasan.

20 overs shared between Junaid, Hafeez and Fahim.

Shadab has greater potential to take wickets.

Imad was figured out by his 4th over against India and got the beating of a lifetime. Those 3 consecutive sixes by Pandya were against him if I recall correctly.

Shadab was economical and took Joe Root's wicket.

Shadab is a million times better than Imad at fielding. Imad is still in some ways a fielding liability. Shadab put life into our defense with his fielding and diving. Imad...injured his knee trying to dive dilapidatedly.

Imad is overrated as a batsman. I'd give Shadab more of a shot with the bat, he has more potential to be a solid contributor there than Imad does.

He's the one who rubs the ball in order to get reverse-swing. Been doing a damn good job too. Of course that itself is not enough to keep him in the team, but I think he should play.

Rather than backing their own players Pak fans still want players like Hafeez Malik Imad to be dropped and replaced by the players who has not even played a single match in the tournament like Haris.I always think once any player is selected back them at least if the team reaches to finals, drop them after the tournament. This shows so much negativity within Pak fans rather than backing their out of form players to perform good in the final they want them dropped which I think will always be with Pak fans and this will add up as playing in immense pressure for players like Hafeez Malik and Imad in finals who wants their nation support especially when they are out of form at least for the all important final

Dropping Ruman will prove to be a big mistake. On a dead wicket; his variety would prove to be a god-send (plus he can field and hold a bat)..I would play Amir for Imad.

So it's a case of Shahdab vs Fahim. It's a tough call.

Amir over Imad or Rumman for the CT final?

Imad Wasim hasn't impressed me much tbh. Now with Amir likely to be fit for the final do we add Amir in place of Imad or Rumman?

You already have Hafeez, Malik and Shahdab as spin options, Indians are good players of spin and Imad had very little impact against India in the first game. Who can forget the three sixes from Pandya?

So far whichever new player they have dropped into the team have done better than so called seniors.

For once i want to support junaid go man destroy indian batting virat who? I can't believe 18 june is real!! Rumman should make way for amir and imad the mediocre should be dropped for faheem.
#no mercy
18 june

C'mon boys

One final push.. one more great performance..

This could be such a great story...

A team that barely qualified for the tournament!!... was beat horribly in their first match...made an astonishing come back by winning the whole thing!!!

From Indian perspective don't drop Azar please lol something tells me he could be India's trump card.

India win toss, elect to field first
Pakistan 298-7
Babar ( 84 )
Zaman ( 59 )
Fahim ( 42 )
Bumrah: 3-45
Jadeja: 2-56
India: 240
Dhoni ( 58 )
Rohit ( 55 )
Dhawan ( 51 )
Hasan: 4-46
Junaid: 3-58
Shadab: 2-52

Possibility of 5 men pace attack in champions trophy final

I think Pakistan should play all 5 pacers in Final game regardless of the opposition. It will be something which might surprise the opposition.

My teams for Final will be

Fakhar
Azhar
Babar
Hafeez
Malik
Sarfraz
Ashraf
Amir
Hassan
Junaid
Ruman

Who cares if Sarfraz will be fined for slow over rate as long as Pakistan win the trophy...
What do you guys say?

Indian are good against both pace and spin. Can't have a one dimensional attack.

Did you not see what the likes of Yuvraj, Kohli did to Wahab's and Hasan's full blooded 140-148 km/hr yorkers on middle stump, off stump or just outside offstump?

BD are reaching the finals. This attack will surely be useful against them. Good choice

We still have Hafeez, Malik, Babar, Azhar and Fakhar for the spin option... We didn't have Junaid and Ruman against India match.

Everyone can bowl except Sarfraz, we will have 10 bowlers if this team is choosen.

We can't use 5 fast bowlers and selecting 5 of them would be stupid anyway. Spinners had a huge role in yesterday's match they were the ones that tied down the english batting. And because of them bowling from 10-20 overs the balls were roughed up for our fast bowlers to get reverse swing. Playing 5 fast bowlers will mean all our bowlers will be gun barrel straight for 30 overs and we would have given away 150-180 in the first 30 overs before reverse swing comes into effect. And the best ball maker in our team is Imad wasim

Just the thought would induce shivers in Ind/Ban camps. Their batsmen can't face anything above waist bowled at over 140 clicks :))
