ICC CT 2017 : Group A - New Zealand [291] vs Australia [53/3] - No result

AUS has tighten the screw in last few overs, that's what good death bowling could do. NZ messed up by sending broom, why he is in the team anyway??

That's why dropping Kamran and picking Azhar (both old) did not made sense. ICC tournaments are played on roads, where as WI series was played on low and slow surfaces, Kamran would have feasted here on top and Umar at tail end, Pakistan would be missing Akmals at both end :(

I think Fahim can play on the blackfoot, but others it would be tough.

Fakhar as well.

In current circumstances, I'll open with Fakhar & MoHa & before that, I'll have a one on one chat with MoHa - straight eye ball to eye ball : "Shake up, don't think people around are fool".

Sending in Broom really messed things up.

Would have been better off giving those balls to settle in to Neesham or Anderson.

THat's unfair to bowler with these big bats and small ground. Top edge should never go for six, that's failure for regulators

Will's wicket was key - set batsmen is the key at end.

Why? People come to see SIX ..........

This is pathetic by the middle and lower order.

Sending in Broom at 5 was a game changing decision.

Still they should reach our total with 4 overs less - their fielders should make it 325.

Last 5 ovs 34/4

Throwing it away here NZ
They messed it up with Broom, he's a nothing player who took the team nowhere. By the time Neesham and Anderson came in, they had no time to get set. I would have batted him behind Southee in this situation tbh.

Average of 25, economy of 4.65, 55 wickets in 35 games. These are brilliant numbers in the modern LO game.

Numbers are brilliant, no doubt; But he needs to do well against India, England and South Africa to be considered great in ODIs. I don't think he can do that.

This is very odd for NZ. Just poor batting and poor management

NZ has used Ranchi as pinch hitter in this tournament and it has worked so far. Pakistan can use some out of the box thinking as well, let some body(Immad, Shadab,Hassan,Rahim) go at the top. No point of playing TTFs at top.

Good point yasir Bhai.

Hopefully Arthur tries something like this.

What's the weather prediction for the second half? I know you can't predict UK weather. Just curious, I don't want to spoil the Friday evening watching a rain effected match!

Why can't he perform against those sides?

Going to be all out so don't think we'll get any runs added.

Won't be surprised in the slightest if this side loses all 3 games, the middle order is non existent.

NZ should at least target 310.

9 balls remaining. Can they get 19 runs?

Southee needs to strike a couple of sixes.

Yeah, Australia will coast this.

Rubbish performance from everyone not named Kane, Guptill or Ronchi.

This is poor from Kiwis. Not sure, if they'll gain from DWL now.

Aus will chase this with 3 overs to spare.

Expect fireworks from Warner and Finch.

Fleming was spot on, Latham should have batted at 5 today.

He can tell Broom doesn't belong anywhere near this level, sucks that management can't.

Not only did they fail to make 300, they wasted 6 balls and didn't get anything added from D/L.

Teams are finding it hard to accelerate in the death overs despite having solid foundations. Yesterday BD and today NZ. Maybe has something to do with the extra fielder outside in the last 10.

Not only did they fail to make 300, they wasted 6 balls and didn't get anything added from D/L.

So AUS will have 50 overs to chase this? while NZ got a maximum of 46?

Let's see how the hacks: Warner and Finch, perform against Boult and Southee.

No, the game is 46 overs.

They would have had runs added if they weren't bowled out as overs were reduced during the innings.

Our top order is solid, but I had doubts about making it to the SFs on our middle and lower order. You can't count on them to score anything against good attacks.

Not only did they fail to make 300, they wasted 6 balls and didn't get anything added from D/L.

NZ batted only 9 overs before the interruption. Not many would have been added though. 3-4 runs at max.

NZ can still win this, remember what happened at Eden Park? They were defending less runs with more overs, pitch didn't really have anything in it either.

Boult and southee need to get 2-3 quick wickets. Hope NZ win!

5-10 runs would have been significant if they batted sensibly.

Bat the innings and get to 310-315 + 5-10 runs and you have a solid total to defend.

Why? People come to see SIX ..........

Sixes, not mis hit, . I know many Indian fans still bragg about Tendular/Sehwag mishit six on Akthar's good bouncer back in 2003, which should have been out but instead giving them momentum...

I'd bet on Bangladesh to beat this NZ side. They are hugely dependent on Guptil and Kane; and their bowling is vastly overrated; will have absolutely no effect on these flat pitches.
