DWL does help the NRR situation for a revised target, but not for such cases when match is stopped for good.
If I take PAK's revised target for 40 overs, it'll be around 200 - so the NRR impact in +0.80 (219 in 50 vs 200 in 40 or less). But, if the match is stopped now, PAK wins but NRR impact is minimum (219/50 vs 119/27) And the volume of run is half, so, it won't pull that 129 runs deficit much.
Any way, PAK won't ever make the cut on NRR after losing 1st match by 129, because SAF also knows the the equation & SRL won't make it 170 runs or 25 overs comfortable win for PAK.
If India lose both games they will be out if we beat Sri Lanka as along with us, South Africa will be on four points.
Fine, but in that case is the tie-breaker on wins or NRR?
What is the forecast for Ind-SL ?
The way it has been for last week, every match has an outside chance of getting rained out.
and for that matter, what's the forecast for Ind-SA ?
