Sounds very much like Sunny Gavaskar is a fan of Shan Masood. In other words, he wants him playing on Sunday because he knows India's chances increase exponentially.

This is a slap in the face for Rizwan and Babar, only thing I’d say is that England really aren’t taking this seriously, so that’s probably what’s leading to this

England were not taking the Pakistan series serious either

Babar/Rizwan played 6 out of 7 matches as openers in that series

What slap, has haider done extra ordinary in powerplay only shan is playing with intent whom we all don't want in a team either
 
Haider struggled with pace of Wood in previous over and also wasn't liking the short ball which eventually led to his downfall.
 
Haider Ali again had a mix inning. Under pressure he will not score much unless he bats at lower end. Perhaps 5.
 
This is pretty much the output Babar and Rizwan will provide on these wickets anyway, without the high risk shots ofcourse.
 
Topley/Willey would have sent these 2 back in the pavilion had it been a real match.

Rizwan man handles David Willey like there’s no tomorrow!!
 
So far haven't seen anything different to what babar rizwan can do here

Honestly this is exactly what most people want. Rizwan opening with someone aggressive and Babar coming in at 3. Rizwan can easily play a similar, if not better innings than Haider, whilst Babar has the range of shots to play an effective role outside the powerplay or even in case of an early wicket. Meanwhile most likely you’ll get off to a similar start as today, releasing pressure on the middle order

Babar and Riz would not have gone at 10 an over.

They would have calmly posted 30-0 after 5 overs

If Shan is scoring almost 175SR here then Babar would surely be 200+. I hoped Fakhar played today that would have been ideal.

Calm down....it's a warmup game and Eng are treating it just like that.

Stokes won't be opening the bowling in actual games...it would be Topley, Woakes, Wood, Curran and Jordan.

Having said that....great start by Shan Masood.

He needed some runs under his belt before India game....with Fakhar not being fully fit yet.
 
11 an over off the powerplay - I don’t think babar and Riz would ever do that.

Goes to prove - the world will not end without babar and Riz opening

The run rate was this high due to very poor bowling of Stokes including no balls and wides.Both Stokes and Jordon have bowled poorly. Willey,Topley and Curran bowl much better and swing it.

This is what would happen when RizBar not opening we be 2 wickets down but not in 7th over but second or third over and with not many runs. Although I still want Babar to play one down to give stability to middle order.

Pak does not need RizBab s openers, they can very well come in as middle order if sloggers on top fail.

Fakhar is a useless player. His average is half of that of Rizwan with a strike rate same as him. He has this image of a power hitter because in the rare instancves where he scores big it is studded with 6s which people remember. But his strike rate is around 128 as in between his rare 50s he plays run a ball innings.

England will ideally want to chase around 180.

Pakistan will want to the middle order to get some runs and then have Shaheen get some overs under his belt.

That would be job done by both sides

Its funny how experienced posters getting duped by extra 10 runs from opener ignoring the fact that Stokes and Jordon making their returns and bowled poorly.
 
2 cheap overs of Living stone done. Pak does struggle batting first as they do not know what is a good total!
 
Haider keeps getting out when well set.His shot selection is still questionable.
 
Livingstone bowled 2 overs for only 8 runs

Need to be more proactive against spinners
