Yes they can only win against clown teams like yours comfortably like 180 runs in CT 2017 F and 10 wickets in 2021 WC.
Really sums up pak mentality if you are happy with those and keep clinging on ro them forever. The meltdown here if USA takes down pak this time will be epic! Difficult for USA but not impossible by any means 👍

I'm very skeptical about Nawaz somehow whatever form he shows during bilaterals goes out of his body during tournaments. He went for runs Vs Netherlands and didn't do anything with the bat, let's see how he performs Vs USA
Agree, but for Nawaz, this for me is his last chance saloon.

With Arafat Minhas, Qasim Akram & Saim Ayub as future options for allround spin bowling, Nawaz's future for Pakistan T20I or all formats is ticking down.

Wishing Pakistan the best to get their revenge brothers.

Stay calm, remain focussed and just give your 100%. If you do that you will achieve victory.

If Usman khan is replaced by Nafay then they have the option to try Fakhar in place of Babar, just not sure if coming in at 4 helps either one. We need proper middle order batsmen and we have none in the current squad.
The problem is, Pakistan has a serious lack of WK's & due to this, they have decided to experiment with part-time wicketkeepers as opposed to going with younger keepers who are either not good (Haseebullah Khan, Rohail Nazir & Ghazi Ghori) or are too young (Saad Baig).

The decided to presist with M.Haris, but constantly shifted him around in the order & decided next up is Usman Khan which I didn't agree with at all, however, the coaching decided due to lack of options, they could make Usman Khan work (high unlikely)

10 wickets and 180 runs - in big ICC tournaments absolutely humiliating.
THESE were not humiliation

you what is humiliation?
Loosing to USA.
getting kicked out from a tournament you are hosting - in the first round.

Not able to host the final in your country when you're the "hosts".

That's humiliation.
And BTW it happened with Rizbar

Usman Tariq should play this game. Not because he is amazing but his action alone should make a team like USA a little uncomfortable. Plus he'll be coming in with some confidence anyway.

This is also a good match for Nafay to pick up some experience and replace UK.

And get Fakhar back in! He cannot be out of the lineup in an ICC tournament. That is absolutely criminal for him to play over Babar.

Guaranteed there will be more Indian fans watching this game. For a number of reasons, but mainly being, Amreeka is the next super rival of India.

Talking as an American fan.

We won in 2024 because the team outworked Pakistan and was completely unified while the Pakistani team had internal divisions and immense distractions from what happened with SSA. It was also "first-match" syndrome-Pakistan tends to perform poorly in the first match of a tournament (See 2019 vs. WI, 2024 vs. USA, even today versus the Netherlands).

Our bowling lineup is excellent although we will need to see if Ali Khan is healthy and ready to go because he did well in his 2 overs vs. India. I'd like to think we would have won had he bowled the last over vs. India instead of Netravalkar. Also can't be dropping catches for sure.

Pakistan looked great vs. Australia pre-tournament and got off to a good start vs. Netherlands but got dragged back. We've also got a little bit of a psychological edge.
I wouldn't think that our batting is as bad as yall think it is. We had to go into Mumbai into a very pro-India crowd and still managed to do well against a strong bowling lineup. Shubham was also injured on batting, the inability for him to rotate strike easily limited what the other batsmen could do. Harmeet Singh is a solid all-rounder and our upper order has made some decent strides.

More likely than not Pakistan wins but I think it will be close.

USA batting sucked against India.

India rested Bumrah and Kuldeep. USA still crawled to 132.

USA's bowling is good but batting is club level. Maybe because they are missing Aaron Jones, Corey Anderson, and Steven Taylor. :inti

Sorry guys but it looks like Babar will play all matches.
Yeah because they have kept out players like Hassan Nawaz and Harris for him. Now they can’t just drop him after 1 game. It will look so stupid, it’s like going into the World Cup with a squad of 14 even though they had the option of going with a full 15!

If Babar gets dropped, he needs to be sent home and the replacement should come in from the reserves!

Usman should be given another chance. He is good player of spin bowling. He is not clicking at international level..he can bring stability to fragile middle order. One more batsman can be included in place of a bowler.

1. Saim
2..Farhan
3..Agha
4.. Nafay
5..Usman Khan (WK)
6..Fakhar
7..Shadab
8..Nawaz
9..Faheem
10..Shaheen/Mirza
11.Abrar

Saim can share the new ball with pacer . Babar need to be dropped. He is totally misfit at no..4. he is more of a liability

Good for USA cricket , more eyeballs is what we need ! And dont worry, Aus will always remain the super rival for Ind in cricket for any ICC title, it' will never be Pak or USA :ROFLMAO:.

You keep repeating this like a clueless guy inspite of the facts repeatedly and by multiple posters here. Asron Jones - yes USA will certainly miss him/ But Corey is a washed up unfit ex international player who is way past his sell by date and good riddance. Taylor - again unfit, no discipline , no zeal to improve , he's pretty much done. If USA was given as many opportunities and support that Ban has gotten over the years, we would have probably been in atleast 1 SF.

Good points

Surprised that Hassan Khan isn't in the USA squad. Also, what happened to Nitish Kumar? The guy who smacked Rauf for a boundary of the last ball to get the match to the Super-Over

I am a bit split for this game. Always been a Pakistan team supporter thanks to childhood exposure but over the years I have been disillusioned due to so much drama around PCT and poor performances. Now I have also followed all the good work and progress by the US team which is my birth+home nation. Added to this, I generally like to root for underdogs when stakes are near even. If not agains the US, I always support PCT and if not against Pakistan I always support the US team. I will probably support the US for this game but a part of me will also be sad if Pakistan loses.

Pak ARE the underdogs in this match. Its 1-0 to the USA so far...

Yea, he is a better bowler than Ali Khan.

USA to play that annoying left arm spinner aswell tomorrow.
Ali Khan has improved a lot over the last couple of years. He was like Harris rauf or Prasidh before - just bowling with no brains but has evolved and adapted and is a much improved bowler now. Not sure if MLC cricket or playing in PSL helped as well. And didnt realized Ehsan Adil played ODI and even test cricket for Pak in 2015, wow...

Guy India had to get new ball wins to make it work. I wouldn't rate Anderson these days although missing Jones and taylor was a problem. Our guys just lost the plot when we were ticking the run rate over through 15 overs.
I think Gous will come good though. He was solid vs. SA two years ago and comes from a strong SA setup.

Honestly, USA is still a huge underdog in this game no matter prior results. Pak is still the huge fave by a margin to win this one.

he is. Travelling reserve. One player got injured, so they just added him
So he was already there? Good chance he'll play then.

Tall, high release point seamers bowling hard lengths works great on this pitch.

Zimbabwe's attack looked unplayable today

Evans - 6'2"
Ngarava - 6'6"
Muzarabani -6'8"

Yet Afridi got phainty, it's not just about what height their head is at but also what's in it.

Btw did they play on the same pitch as us? And will we be further playing on an even more deteriorated pitch?

He's been pretty poor... probably made the squad out of necessity. He averaged 54 with the ball in the last MLC. Would be a bit embarrassing for Pakistan if they give wickets to him.

Dibbly Dobblers would do well on this kind pf pitch, ideal for Faheem and Mirza. Spinners would do the rest.
Yeah ball is expected to seam around under lights. Not sure how much confidence I have in Pakistan's batters though. They don't do too well when the ball is seaming around.

The only question is: How much greener they can make this pitch vs the previous Pak game AND would it make any difference if Pak bats first. ONLY THIS will provide sniff of victory to US team. Even then, Pak arsenal of spinners will be too much to cope with during the chase in SL.

The cowards BICC has ZERO cojones to accomplish the same task in any other games; especially in their own game - flat track chumps.

I can understand point one and two but can't understand why it gives so much pleasure to Indian fans that CT final was hosted outside Pakistan.

I can understand at government level but it as odd thing for average Joe fans to take pleasure from.

It is a shame really that this low level thinking is prevalent amongst Indian masses.

Yes it was the same pitch as PAK vs NED.

I don't know if you are playing USA on it. I doubt you'll be playing on a twice used pitch.

It'll mostly be a fresh pitch

Yeah he was poor in MLC. But I think he will be a decent choice on this particular pitch.

If he's anywhere near his 2015 World Cup level , he'll be better than Jasdeep at least.

I understand what you are trying to say.
I feel sad your country.

However my reply was a comparative reply of humiliation where normal match defeats where being portrayed as epic humiliation events.

I was trying to provide prospective.

I fully expect Babar to play a match defining innings vs USA.

And his cave fans to celebrate the knock as it was greatest on planet Earth.

Sorry wasn't sure as I noticed you wanting Ind to lose against US.

Thanks for clarifying brother.
Honestly, the Misbah era killed my interest in watching Pak team.. He made Pak into such a boring , defensive , soulless team from which I dont think Pak still hasnt recovered.Yes, want Ind to win an Ind-Pak game but its no fun if its one sided and gets boring.. Thats the why the 2003 , 99 & 96 ODI WC games against Pak were the best and the Pak team was actually stronger on paper. The 2023 Pak was such a solid team at the time, was shocked they lost defending 275 which in those days is like 350 now and had Wasim, Waqar, Shoaib, Saqlain, Razzak.. From 2011 onwards, its been a one sided rivalry, only hyped artificially by the media and broadcasters.

Please , can you wait for one more game ! :) He can get that against Namibia and not the USA and then he can be - Nambabar !
