I don't think cricket will get popular ever in Canada, USA, etc. other than among the immigrant population.

The ICC would be better off concentrating on the likes of Ireland, Afghanistan, Nepal, etc. where there is a great potential for growth.

Yes , you are right , Nepal also I think has craze and market for Cricket.

These tournaments gauges the quality of the players in the pipeline. And even if the opposition are over 20, you expect the top sides to beat them.

Also these are great oppurtunity to these youngsters, the feeling of playing in a world tourney
These kids are picked up from U19 domestic tournaments.

KW, Anderson etc. were hardly standouts at this level, the only player I can remember making an impact in the U19's was Tim Southee.

These competitions arent as vital for the western nations as it is for the asian ones, because the majority of western players havent fully developed yet which is why not many make it senior level.

Not to mention at this age level the talent gap between nations isnt as large. Can guarantee you any money every member of the NZ side today will be better than Nepal in 10 years as they develop through domestic matches.

New Zealand are still rubbish when it comes to playing in subcontinent. They have no genuine spinner for these conditions. Over-hyped team. No wonder they won't be touring Bangladesh any-time soon. It's a big deal if Nepal beats them: New Zealand are a rising team, and even their under-19 team wants to emulate their senior team from what I've read.

Ireland are rubbish as usual.

Agreed.

Should quit cricket and allow real teams like Pakistan an opportunity to play the bigger sides instead.

Pakistan should be playing Aus in place of NZ in February, this loss to Nepal is the worst thing to happen to NZC.

No team who loses to Nepal deserves to be playing cricket in any shape or form.

In the last year (not quite) Bangladesh and South Africa have played each-other 15x with Bangladesh winning 12 of those :P

Ideally! 4 groups of 4 is what the real world cup should be, but we know it's a risky format because of India and money implications. 10 team single group world cup isn't that bad either: it will show who are the strongest and weakest one-day sides amongst the 10 sides.

Congrats to Nepal. A lot of people were rating New Zealand. New Zealand are masters at home, but rubbish away.

lol you'd expect that from kids who have never played in the SC before.

As for NZ being masters at home... how many ODI series have Bangladesh won in England and the UAE?

Loving this, we just never give up do we?

May have lost but pushing India is no mean feat.

The Nepal upset has just made things difficult for NZ to qualify.

NZ face India next at Dhaka..

Nepal have also beaten NZ before in U19 WC (2006) and that team had likes of Guptill, southee, munro, bennett etc.

The sad thing is this win is meaningless.

Look at where they have come since that win in 2006, I expect nothing different from this one.

The ICC don't give them a chance.

Moral victory for Ireland. India, as usual struggling with their bowling.

Kohli and Sangwan were in the U-19 which won the WC ,sad Sangwan could never make it big ,always hanging around with his high society buddies.

In Wikipedia it's written Group A will play Group B
\
Wikipedia? Blasphemy, NEVER go to wikipedia

Cricinfo says that is is leader of group A will face Group D. Which means probably NZ or Nepal and by the looks of it, it seems like we are going to face Nepal should Nepal win vs Ireland and India beat NZ bothw which are quite likely. Either way we should be able to beat Nepal or NZ easily.

However, what will happen in the semis, I have no Idea what-so-ever

He was quite sharp back then. Used to bowl 135+ kph

IIRC, he also was banned recently for some drug (failed dope test in IPL) related issue.

They didn't even make it to the WT20s this year, much to their own fault

Yeah and then went on to lift heavy weights gets some abs and his bowling suffered massively not to forget extreme lack of hunger.

Yeah in 2013 for stanozolol ,for all you know if they do it during weekends they might find Ganja too but nevertheless failed cricketer.

I think Nepal have potential to excel

They and Afghanistan are two minnows from Asia who have ability to excel and become atleast Zimbabwe level cricket teams. Actually Afghans are already almost as good as Zimbabwe

Considering Ireland are going to lose. Team batting first has won 5 out of the 5 matches so far! Don't be fooled batting is far easier in the afternoon. The teams batting 2nd were Canada, Fiji, SA(vs BD), NZ(we know they can't play spin) Ireland

Lols the bowler is grunting as if he is going to bowl 145 kph and all what comes towards the batsmen is 128 kph
