Any player who can’t get into team on one skill is generally useless. Sadbad, Nawaz, Thakur, Stoiins, kind of players are not going to do well in ODIs in modern times. Pitches are flatter and teams don’t need 8 batsmen. They need six good batsmen and five bowlers who get into team on primary skills. If they can contribute in their secondary skills it’s a bonus.

So true this. The extra skill is a bonus but you should make the team on your primary skill . Thakur is so useless - and debate is vs Ashwin - but Ashwin ts in purely as a bowler first.. And for Pak- shadab nawaz ifti- none of them get in.with their primary skill. Stoinis opening the bowling for Aus that's a joke.
