What's new

ICC World Cup 2023: India (326/5) continue their domination with a staggering 243-run win over South Africa (83)

250 is good total as pitch is turning….. 96 WC India v/s Srilanka semifinal, Indian batting collapsed batting second against srilankan spinners

kohli could have had the 50 ODI hundreds already by now. Missed two 100s. Looking good for ton today too. So consistent and but not long ago Indian fans wanted him out.

N

Not only that. He ruined the whole game. Watching with family and friends lol. Some haven't watched in years and this tuk tuk master ruined it for casual viewers.

So boring. Fakhar. Give me a fakhar again.
I am watching it over a phone not wanting to disturb my wife and kid at middle of the night (or early morning).

Need keep an eye on umpires when India bowl regarding the change of ball rumours
Even when India is batting you need to keep an eye on umpires. There was an incident a few moments ago, ball went to boundary, umpires gave it as byes, but Kohli started to complain and the umpire changed his mind and gave runs. Replays showed clearly ball missed the bat. Poor by Kohli and even more stranger by the umpire.

India I am begging you, please don't pick iyer and sky in the lineup. Sky atleast attacks but don't bore us with these 2.

Shamsi has bowled very poor so far. He should control his line.
On this pitch he should be very handful but he is very poor bowler.

Then umpire should have confirmed it by calling 3rd impire

Lol the way this Iyer guy behaves is like he is Viv Richards.
Way too arrogant for such a poor player.

South Africa should kick this shamsi out of their team. He is very poor bowler. Fortuin should have been in the squad instead of this garbage.

People got bitten by T20 I guess. they forgot what 50 overs game really looks like.
Indeed. Ignoramuses laying into Iyer do not know it's not a usual 350-380 pitch where people just come and bash the bowlers.

Yes yes he has no weakness vs short ball and is perfect against wrist spin too. World class player.

Even Kohli is tuk tuking a lot. Does it mean he is not good enough?

At least learn to understand what's happening on field and not just further your agenda at every possible opportunity.

Are fast bowlers even bowling on this picture for last half an hour at least?

I like this pitch better than those 350 pitches this world cup has seen.
@Aman was complaining that this is a 380 pitch at the start of the game.

I have been saying from the beginning in other threads as well about how Eden gardens pitch is slow, sluggish, spin friendly over the years (in fact, had a discussion on the same in one of the threads herein PP with @jnaveen1980 when he said it will be a batting track).

He is selected from over a billion people, so in mind he may think he has a reason to be arrogant 😅

And there he hits the first six, maybe he will start attacking now.

Yea we saw what rabada did to him. Almost knocked him out with the ball infact.
What agenda. Everything seems fair. Gill clear weakness vs in swing and spin

Shreyas can't play bounce but apparently according to himself he can rofl.
Has issues vs wrist spin too.

Kohli clear match up issue vs mahraj.

Is shamsi suffering from shadabmania or usamamania.
He is all over the place with his line and length.

Very very poor bowler

Just tuned in, damn iyer and kohli really killed the momentum from rohit?

How? They were going at 9 rr to below 6?

Is it the same pitch used in 1996 WC semifinal?

You wouldn't have lasted in the 90s as a cricket fan...
It's not that. With some friends over and after the rampaging start by rohit these guys are boring to watch. Few casuals with me. I promised them this would be a good game.

300 possible, but these 2 should play till 38th over
I think this is one of those 260-270 pitches. 300 would be well above par.

Especially when Yadav and Jadeja are going to be next to unplayable. SA will have to score almost all the runs against Bumrah, Shami and Siraj.

ABD on show, hell yeah!

Just watch his commentary now and how most of his predictions will go wrong :abdv

Your friends should stick to T20 and league cricket.

Brilliant spell by Maharaj.

Wow. South Africa have pulled back immensely. India were going at 9 runs per over and now under 6. Sure they can accelerate but from this point onward, getting to 350 will require something special.

To "get one loss out of the way" is such a stupid thing to say. It literally doesn't matter.

Whether India win or lose in the semifinal and/or final is going to depend on how they play on that day. Just because they lose a match in the group stage doesn't mean they'll be in a position to play better in the semis.
Absolutely spot on. Some folks think that a loss is inevitable, as if you won’t roll 6 on each turn. That is an absolute fallacy. Winning is not a matter of chance it’s a matter of performance on the day.

Edens garden and not chinnaswamy... different venue, different style of play.

The pitch is sluggish and my boy Keshav has done exceptionally well. Shashi is being toyed with.

India need to drop this iyer and sky. They gave better players than these 2.
Iyer I never rated.

Always wanted ishan kishan in his place. The dude has a 200, that shows he's a talent to invest him, his hack nature can be ironed out, bcci is a good management

His foot was clearly touching the boundary rope when he had ball in his hands.

End of a sublime spell for Keshav Maharaj. 10-0-30-1. He’s been crucial in keeping things tight post Powerplay.

Lol, strike rates of Kohli and Iyer are almost similar. So much so for Iyer being poor today

Good recovery, negotiated the circumstances well to lay a solid base to launch an offensive in the last 20 overs.

Combination of good batting and some short bowling by Sham si kebabs has let SA down after pulling it back through Maharaj (what a stint!)
