First down, and the danger man gone - this guy once set hardly gets out before a significant score.

@GLORY OF '92 This is what I was saying. Nz would not be a walk in the park, like everyone was acting to be.

We beat the weakest sides of the tournament but our bowling sucks if we face quality bats.

Just hope babar punishes ish sodhi today like he always does. And fakhar capitalises.
No one thinks Kiwis are weak side, they are well oiled unit and Pakistan have to win this big to make it count.

first wicket - Conway goes, good surprise bouncer by ali
100 wickets to Ali but no firecracker generator celebrations? - disappointing :)
did i hear things or some commie just said 'rachindra'...seriously :)

Haven't seen ultra-edge yet, but that look like it came off Conway's shoulder TBH. He walked though so probably brushed the glove.

He walked off before umpire gave him out surely he knows he hit it

Rauf just being the same dumb bowler nothing new bring in wasim

The slower Rauf bowls, the more economical he is statistically. 🤭

Poor Captaincy by Babar. New batter was in. SHould have put in slip asap

Never understood a country obsessed with fast bowling and quite reasonably so, but when pace bowlers steaming down deliveries- there is no slip, even after a wicket!

He is the most elegant batsman of recent years - the least discussed one among the fav four, but my favourite of the four. Mark Waugh was like this and I heard Rohan Kanhai was such silky.

Lucky boundary for william ka beta
Rachindra also prospering...
head scratching from Harry rauf :) sometimes i feel he is just a RH version of wahab riaz

Nothing new from a dumb Numper 1 batsmen babar

Why did babar place 4th slip but now a 1st slip for the new batsmen? Captaincy ki had hoti hai yaar

Waqar Younis actually called him Ravindra Jadeja and then "corrected" himself by saying Rachindra....

No, everyone on the planet was attacking me left and right for me telling them to control their expectations, Pakistan have not COME BACK like people were saying.

We beat the 3 weakest sides. I told everyone NZ even weakened is a tough team

TBF Williamson, like Root, is known for his little dab down to Third Man. The 4th slip was probably in for that shot.

Agreed, perhaps too early since he's new to the crease and returning from a lay-off.

Rauf must use more cutters here, pitch seems to grip a bit when ball is bowled bit slower.

350 is easily chaseable here. Dont think rain will halt play for long (if it does), it's sunny outside with sparse cloud. At worst there will be few quick passing showers. Country's fastest in-stadium drainage system should be able to handle that. Hoping to see a cracker of a contest.

Hassan has been the best bowler about of the other bowlers so far.

NZ could have been two down, but thanks to Babar, he ain't helping his own case.
Not everything is Babar’s fault - he has no confidence on his bowlers. You can’t set attacking fielding if your pacers spray the new ball either side of the wicket and RR is 6.5. New ball bowling was really poor today.

13 overs nad Kiwis have scored 82 runs for the loss of 1 wickets. Going at 6.3 runs per over.

I'd have liked to have seen Wasim Jr. open the bowling - he bowls 140-145kph and his action gets the ball to swing.

He's also been disciplined and puts a shift in.

A bit spongy bounce - all it suggests that there will be reverse swing. But, then it’ll grip & spin as well ….

He wasn't so disciplined in warmup, so guess still no trust on him, game against BD doesn't count
