One of the biggest reasons for this level of mediocrity is the loss of form for the Top 3 at the wrong time. All three have lost form at the same time.

No they wouldn't, I've seen how England operate, they'd send him in this position but not if the rr all around was collapsing, the openers however make sure rr doesn't drop.

Secondly root isn't rizzu. Root has struck at 120 to 130 casually. He even showed that today.

He doesn't per say Block that much, he starts at a 90 Sr and ends at 130 Sr. He just doesn't play fancy lofted shots.

Root is a prime example of how just taking singles, playing a proper cricket stroke on a bad ball to the boundary and doing nothing flashy can get you a 90 to 130 SR easily.

He isn't rizzu who's clueless against quality bowling, he's a master technician. Why is rizzu sent here when saud is needed to up the rr? Do we need a 50 of 80 balls here, only for rizzu to slowly upthe ante after when match is lost?

That was his first international tournament. A year and a half into the team. He was still Pakistan's second highest run scorer. I would give him a pass for that world cup.

But he's been awful so far in this world cup. Just continuation of poor form from the Asia Cup. Should do better. But my point remains that Pakistan does well when Imam does well. Him getting out early exposes the middle order too early.
