He needs to do it against good teams as well. Barring the game against WT20 game against India, I've never seen him play against proper bowling attacks. Also, I've seen him choke on numerous occasions in run chases.

He's been poor in this WC but today deserves all the praise for his knock. Good innings.

He's a minnow basher yes, but our top order is spineless against minnows 😂😂

Intent is good enough for a no 6 batter. Haris, tayyab, Saim would complement him well

Babar is the problem as well. When you have batted for 10-15 overs, even if you are an anchor, it is a reasonable expectation that you have your eye in, have assessed the wicket, bowlers opposition and you should be able to cash in your final 20-40 deliveries scoring at a SR of 150 plus like Rohit, Gill, Kohli, Warner etc do.

If he can't do that then he should not be highly rated then.
 
I would have taken 282 on this Chennai at the start of the game, although I still think we might have left 10-15 runs out there with Ifti and Shadab getting out.

Have to bowl poorly for Afghanistan to chase this though.
 
Too many runs for Afg here. Pakistan has to really bowl poorly for Afg to get these runs. Chasing 280 plus here should be different than Afg simply putting up 280 runs.

I think after this WC we have to move on from him. He ain't gonna last for another 4 years in ODIs but I'm happy for him to play T20Is until he's finished.

282 would still take some doing for AFG, wont be easy
the evening sea breeze from marina beachfront generally helps it to reverse.
will be an exciting watch for sure

There spinners are better than any team, and naveen along with Fazal are good pacers.

its just that you dont wana give credit, thus you want to call them a minnow so that a certain players performance cannot be appreciated...

He did well agaisnt a good bowling attack.

Well said. The Afghan pace attack we saw today was shockingly bad. They missed Fazalhaq Farooqi.

The standards among Pakistan fans are so low that they're doing bhangra over bashing those pace bowlers. Small team mentality.
 
Pakistan have played a blinder here keeping wickets in hand until Afghanistan's rubbish bowlers came on in the final 5 overs. Excellent innings and very much a winning score.

Afghanistan will attack hard in the powerplay because they have to and that will also present opportunities to pick up key wickets.

Pakistan's game here.

For crying out loud, the pace attack that Afghan fielded today was the worst I've seen in this WC. They missed Fazalhaq Farooqi as week.

Stop doing bhangra over bashing a minnow level bowlers because it exposes your minnow level mentality.

I agree he needs to be moved on due to age, but his intent is something youngsters can learn from, and he's the role model to adopt, or even fakhar lol.

Are they a competitive team? Yes. But that doesn't make them a good team.

You can't be a good team if you're one of the worst sides in this WC. They'll finish somewhere in the bottom 4 because that is their level.

Pakistan have put on more than enough runs to win this one. They would have to bowl shockingly bad to let Afghans win, they don't have enough quality batsmen.
 
Just a question to Pak fans, why did your selectors not select Abrahr Ahmad?
i thot he was awesome in the Eng series played in pak. Has he played any white ball cricket ever for pak or just pigeonholed as a test specialist?

i think you need to learn how to have a discussion with someone. You cant have decent discussion because you thrown in the usual comments Misbah fan etc... Misbah has retired yet you cant get him out of your head.

selectors wanted to. But Babar didnt want to. This is why Babar has very little game sense.

Before today he scored 60 runs off 4 innings. Just goes to show that how much Major is twerking for mediocrity as per usual :ROFLMAO:

The guy that should have been dropped was Omarzai, but he has been batting well for them.

Afghans have two duds in their middle order. The captain and another bloke whose name doesn’t come to mind (that’s how useless he is). If they want to play the 4 spinners and keep Omarzai as a batsman who can bowl, then they should drop one of those two middle order players. Farooqi can play and so can Noor

I don't understand how major can like both misbah and chacha?

Both are different players in mindsets. Chacha is medicore and will be exposed against good sides but he tries to play for the team and tries to attack nonstop and him and fakhar are the only batsmen who play according to modern standards. Haris, Tayyab, Saim are also the same as chacha and fakhar.

Misbah is the same mould as babar, Rizzu and imam lol. Only difference is misbah was slower but could hit sixes atleast. But again doesn't mean anything, you can hit sixes good but if your sr is even slower then the 3 jokes at the top then allah khair

Tayyab Tahir is not international material.

Only Saim deserves to debut for Pakistan for now, no one else in the reserves is good enough including Mohammad Haris.
