ICC World Cup 2023: South Africa (399/7) destroys England (170) by 229 runs, leaving England's World Cup hopes in jeopardy

There was one WBBL match today Adelaid strikers made 177 and bowled Melbourne stars for 29 runs. This match is a bit like that

If we can manage to win by 200+ runs then we'd be in good stead to make the semi finals. But our bowlers lose their intensity once they're on top as we saw against Netherlands

You are confusing being critical with public ridicule and humiliation.

Being critical is absolutely fine as long as it is constructive. English media has changed, because if this was happening in the 80s or 90s, the Sun would print a dartboard with all English players and sell it as a souvenir!

This game should be a textbook for advocates of specialist, SA played with 5 proper bowlers and 6 specialist batsman, batters did their job and now only 4 bowlers used so far and the game is literally won
 
Wood can hit well. I think he can be considered as a low-key all-rounder. Someone like Tim Southee.

There was a stat posted. Their averages vs fast bowlers over 140 pace is pretty mediocre. Also poor vs bounce in general.

We shall see though.

That is because they always have something to look forward to. For India and Pakistan, a performance like this means that the players have to be in hiding for a couple of months before the anger dies down.
 
This is what annoys me. Defensive bowling against the tail. We did the same against the Netherlands. Why not attempt yokers or bowl full and straight?

Fans vent their frustration in different ways. There is no real guidelines for how they should vent. After all they are the reasons why these guys are popular, rich, sports is alive. Not like these players read each and every comment. Rohit sharma has no social media activity. He completely shut himself off. People call him vada pav whatever they want to. Some go over the top. That's okay happens in all sports. Part and parcel of fan's life. You don't have to be a defense lawyer for them.

Venting frustration is different to venting hate.

That's like if a student gets an E grade on the paper and the mom says, well it wasn't that bad because atleast you didn't get a F grade like your brother did. Good job.
 
I think England has fire power. But form is the issue. Nobody is at their best. Buttler, bairstow, Livinstone, Brook

You're frustrated because you perceive a situation negatively and hate is perceiving it negatively as well.

Only difference is hate is long term and frustration is short term, but how do younseprate the 2 when it comes to venting something?

Not that I am justifying Pakistan's preparation and approach in this WC, but fan's complaint about Mickey Arthur and the leadership's approach yesterday, especially during the chase, need to see what England did today. At least Pakistan were not far off the Aussie total for more than half their chase.

England, with superior think-tank, money, players, etc. have been proven to be very one dimensional in their approach. Smash batting first, smash when chasing, have all failed!
 
Not the first time the tail have decimated us in this WC. We saw it against Sri Lanka, Netherlands and now England (53 run partnership from 28 balls for the 9th wicket). This isn't acceptable. How are we going to win close games? The Australian game is the only exception

Look at that bunch of losers in the English dressing room. Cant even be happy for the tailenders, who are doing a tremendous job so far.
