ICC World Cup 2023: South Africa (399/7) destroys England (170) by 229 runs, leaving England's World Cup hopes in jeopardy

Your team needs a reliable guy who rotate strike with a big game to use whenever needed. you can't have everyone going after bowling. Couple of miscue shots you are in a pickle.
 
England attack looks slightly better after they kicked out Curran and Woakes. Two useless enttities. One is fit for Test. One is fit T20.
 
Miller not firing in the death overs is a big blow for SA. He is someone who can maul any attack and take the target beyond the opposition reach. Despite a healthy RR throughout the innings SA is struggling to post a 325 score now.

He has some batting skills. He even has improved his hitting reecntly. In IPL he concecded 27 runs to Rashid khan when he had to defend 25 runs in 20th over. In SA premiere league he returned the favor by thrashign Rashid khan for 28 runs in one over.

Steyn lost sa the 2015 wc semis.
Ab couldn't chase against nz in 2011 and he and alla chocked so many times even in the ct and t20 wc. Every South African great is a choke master
 
It is still not doom and gloom for SA. Maharaja can bat. But they could have reached 350 had Miller stuck around.

A tad overrated even in tests.

He is not McGrath level. Never was. He is a tier below.
 
Still need to pick regular wickets ENG.
Anything above 320 will be very difficult to chase especially with shortened England batting

How would india fare here? I still think india can't chase 300 plus with their long tail. First team to score 300 plus vs india might beat them.

They may need to get some practice on chasing 300 plus before semis.

India knows how to chase 300. Only way anyone can stall India from chasing 300 is by getting Rohit/Kohli in quick succession. Even that is no guarantee. Not exactly 300. But they chased 282 in 45 overs last years against SA full strength with B string players

What brutal hitting lol. I still think his game is suspect vs short ball in more bowling friendly conditions but on flat pitches good luck.
 
England are out of the world cup they are not making semis for sure its between sa and pak for 4th spot.

No ngidi and jansen though. Would that have made a difference. Ofcourse india were without their best bowler bumrah and co as well.
 
Mark Woods is also going at more than 10 runs an over and will not bowl his full quota, just like Rauf...

No. They are not suitable here. If anythign Nortje is their best bet. Ngidi in SA is different fom in India

They are still not out. If they can contain like Pakistan did y day they can escape. But again they are not bowling to Labuschagne lol They are bowling to Klaasen.
 
Jansen is playing a key role. He could have been 12 in 26 balls. But he is 26 in 28 balls. Not bad at all.
 
Looks like the Saffers will get around the same score as the Aussies yesterday, against arguably a better bowling attack...puts things into context
 
Klaasen is really tired which show how fit is king Kohli even after fielding 50 over and batting for 40 over he can take double easily .

Kohli holds the record for highest runs by way of running in a ODI innings for India. He ran 100 runs in Capetown (75 singles 11 twos 1 three) out of a total of 160 runs in 159 balls.

Explain the batting of Saffers to me...score 400 plus against the likes of Sri Lanka and now something close to 350 odd against England....and yet could not chase 250 against the Netherlands....bonkers!
 
The world champions will bow out tomorrow, no purpose of this round Robin format after 4 games we've realised NZ InD SA Aus will qualify rest of the matches will only decide who finishes 7th and bottom ICC has lost its marbles if any
