What's new

ICC World Cup 2023: This is already a great World Cup and could be the GOAT of all World Cups!

No it is not. Let us compare the stats of evenly matches teams and win/loss ratio after winning hte toss. Even Wasim Akram and Misbah were concerned that the toss decided all of the games here.

In the final too the same theme played out. the dew factor basically ruined it for teams bowling second.
Go ahead and compare. Exclude SL, NED and BD and look at the numbers. Captains winning tosses has had the lest effect on this World Cup

The ticketing was a #hitshow with fans not being able to get tickets till only a few weeks before the tournament began.

The scheduling was as unprofessional as it could be with last minute changes.

Visa process was a disaster with Pak fans and journalists missing several games before they were granted the required docs.

Pitches were sub standard with extremely shady meddling by the home board; confirmed by ICC’s own pitch consultant.

Playing conditions were unacceptable with teams playing games in cities with toxic level pollution and facing breathing issues.

All of the above are unheard of in a WC. Poor management by BCCI but you can’t expect much with the chief idiot in charge!

If anyone thinks this was a GOAT WC, he is either a biased Indian or someone who hasn't watched many World Cups before.

This was an average WC overall.

The only thing good about this WC was that the villains were thwarted in the final game.

Up until then it was simply a manufactured event designed to ensure India win at all costs.

Pathetic tournament and nobody will be looking forward to the next event that India hosts. No doubt the cheating will be even more shameless.

It felt like an Indian home series. Didn't feel like a World Cup at all.

When World Cups are held in places like England, Australia etc., you can feel the vibe. It feels like a World Cup.

I saw a video of Indians complaining about how poorly organized everything was in the final in Ahmedabad. The only ticket available for the final were those sold in black and the rates for accommodation had sky rocketed, the local businesses engaging in price gouging, etc.

Quite a few of the comments were a final should never be awarded to Ahmedabad based. People had driven from far away places to get robbed and on top of it India lost the final.

Imagine if the locals were this displeased how foreign visitors would have felt. It was a real crap show based on the comments I heard.

Ahmedabad is not the right venue for hosting a World Cup final. It may have 100,000 seats but it is a lightweight venue.

Should've been held in Mumbai. Quality over quantity.
