If India become weak, so will Bangladesh: BCB chief

BCB does not have to suck up to anyone. They are self sustaing board abd it shows on their balance sheets and their cricket team. People need to quit treating them like kids. They can beat any team on a given day.

They are perfectly right in stating that only way forward is an equitable solution. You cannot have a solution where you call a meeting and do not include India. That is back stabbing and it is a shame that Pakistani fans are not taking a moral stand against it.

BCB has the most pragmatic approach not driven by hate.

Let's be honest. Bcb needs BCCI. And they are still considered as minnows by many countries, otherwise why do they not get away series that much? There is no shame in sucking up to someone if they can benefit u. In fact, that is how many people move up in the world. Kudos to Bcb for realizing that, but it's still sucking up

I call it getting along with neighbors. Keep on calling them minnows but remeber pride comes before fall. They are a good team. In sub continent if there is one board that can do without BCCI money it is BD. Smell the coffee.

again, you lot keep lying and I keep calling you out on it.

Again you know nothing and in your ignorance call people liars.

Second, the Indian TV irghst are not worth 700 million dollars, unless you mean rupees , which comes to 7 million pounds (approximately) that's less than teh ECB by miles. The ECB will be signing a 1.5 billion deal in the future, that takes it into champions league level. Again, stop lying.

Indian Tv rights are worth more than $700mn.ECB is a minnow in terms of money when it comes to BCCI TV deals. Here go through the links below. This is only for international matches.IPL is separate.

SOURCE LINK

Again, lied baout the IPL deal. (Also, even if its true, that money does not go to the ICC)

Lied about IPL Tv deal?

IPL deal is worth 8200cr INR thats in excess of a Billion pounds(1 GBP=81rs) or 1.2bn USD ($1=64.50)

SOURCE LINK

ECB is expecting GBP 1.25bn or 1.5bn USD for its TV rights deal. The deal will only start from 2020.

SOURCE LINK

So if you can do the maths,

ECB's TV deal for its International matches plus T20 league will be worth $1.5bn .

BCCI's Tv deal for its International plus IPL deal is 700mn USD for international matches 1.2bn for IPL. Thats $1.9bn.This deal will expire in 2018.

So BCCI already had a bigger Tv deal than what ECB will have in future. And BCCI's next deal will likely leave ECB even further behind.

And no, India has not surpassed the uK in GDP but that is irrelevant to this conversations.

India has surpassed it and if not is almost as big as UK GDP.It is very relevant because it tells you that how big the market is.

Your final paragraph is irrelevant.

Next time, I'd advise you to post sources for your information.

ANother liar debunked.

My paragraph makes sense only if you could understand it.Secondly never have any info that i have posted on PP regarding BCCI has been wrong. Some of them even before it came out in the media. So i have very reliable sources.Anyways to humour you i have posted the links above.

Next time dont let your ignorance call someone a liar.It only makes you look like a fool.

Yours maths for this part is significantly flawed. The ECB are looking at around £1.25bn for 5 years of television rights. That's £250mn per year.

The Indian international rights were sold for 3851 crore for an 8 year deal. That's about £480mn or £80mn a year.

The IPL right were sold for 8200 crore for a 9 year deal. That's about £1bn or £111mn per year.

Making the current annual sum of the BCCIs TV rights about £191mn I believe whilst the ECB are expecting about £250mn.

There's also a flaw in my maths here and £80mn should read £60mn taking the highlighted value (of the BCCIs annual TV rights money) down by £20mn to £171mn.

Here is the biggest flaw. When they sign the deal then come back.

So when cricketjoshila is using those expected valuations to show that "ECB is a minnow in terms of money when it comes to BCCI TV deals" and more specifically "BCCI already had a bigger Tv deal than what ECB will have in future" it's all fine, but when I use those exact same figures to show the BCCIs current annual income from TV rights is only 68% of what the ECB are expecting to get you suddenly have a problem with those figures being used? Hmmm...

You make a fair point which I will not dispute. How about the nos for last 5 years?

Current per year for BCCI according to you is 191 mn . ECB currently is no more than 75 mn.

ECB is less than half the size of BCCI. I dont know how to quantify minnow but that is indeed small.

Please talk about the same time frame. Looking at past number for one board and a future projection for other is disingenous.

Conflicting numbers there...UK well ahead of India in 2015. For India to surpass UK in 2 years they would need a growth rate of 20%, which they don't have.

They are ahead in PPP terms but that is fairly meaningless in international finance and trade because Bangladesh is ahead of Switzerland in nominal GDP, but doesn't mean that Bangladesh is a richer country than Swizterland.

When a board like BCB have to publically humilate themselves to appease another board. Not sure what other tangibles you need.

BD is trying to get along with everyone, including BCCI. I know you are hurt because they did not tour.

India is slightly larger than $2.3 trillion. With Brexit and stuff India is slightly larger. Even if they are abt the same India will overtake Britain. I dont know what you are trying to get at.

That's your opinion not a concrete negative. I get that ppl might have an issue with the big three, but at least a coherent response would help on why?

Actually BCB has tried to please everyone but to a certain limit.

BCB has opposed BCCI's ideas at times, particularly times where a particular decision would be detrimental for our cricket team and board. However, at times BCB has supported BCCI because BCCI is a useful ally and there are only a handful of well functioning cricket boards in the world. West Indies and Zimbabwe cricket obviously being excluded from the list.

BCB has also tried to get alone with PCB by allowing their players to play in the BPL and letting Tamim, Riad, Shakib play in the PSL even though we had an important test series against Mighty Sri Lanka who are a good team at home as the Aussies have found out the hard way.

But if BCCI were to make BCB head in the direction they didn't want to, BCB would oppose. And so far BCCI hasn't bullied BCB just yet. PCB has!

Guess what PCB has done so far:

-Force the BD team to tour Pakistan in 2012 and in return M Kamal would be nominated as ICC president
-In 2013 if BD refused to tour Pakistan players will not recieve NOC for BPL
-2017 once again Bangladesh were forced to tour Pakistan and PCB threatened to cut all ties if BCB didn't oblige.

Now even in a parallel universe if India was in a middle of a crisis and even an international team was brutally targetted and attacked by terrorist group, BCB would have the same stance against touring India. BCB's greatest asset is its player and BCB has every right to look at the interest of the players.

Now if the likes of Shakib, Tamim, Mushy, Miraz, Soumya, Fizz were irritated by the board and stopped playing, would any cricket team ever want to play with Bangladesh? No. India? Never, Ireland? Unlikely. We would have to field some club level cricketers from second division cricketer.

BCB is a smart cricket board, and it knows when it stand up for itself. Its not BCCI's lapdog. It seems a lot of posters here are nothing but immature and don't know how the cricket world runs. Its completely fair for PCB to bully BCB and blame BCB for the condition of their cricket right now. Bangladesh cricket is on the up and that is courtesy of BCB doing the right things.

BCB has arranged 2 successful BPLs, domestic competitons improving with days, our national team too is on the upward curve. It would be insanity to claim that BCB are a pathetic board. They are the most diplomatic board in the cricket world and that is why BCB has never faced any issue with any other cricket board in the world, even Zimbabwe cricket who made our players stay in a 2/3 star hotel with water supply issues, waterlogging of the hotel itself, etc. Except every board but PCB who has the impression that BCB owes them a tour, a tour for what? Why don't you ask other teams to tour Pakistan?

That ECB expectation is from 2020.3 years from now.Isnt it?So even then BCCI is likely to beat it by a significant margin because bcci rights renew in 2018.The international tv rights were for 6 years and not 8 years.

You did the 3851crore INR calculation to present rates.I used the $750mn usd amount quoted to do the calculation. There are clauses in the agreement on the rate at which the $ conversion will happen.

Anyway you see it bcci beats ecb in tv rights deal by a mile.

Someone correct me if I am wrong India brings in 70% of ICC revenue.. But after the new money sharing model India chunk of the share is being cut down and being distributed amongst other nations? While England, Australia, Pakistan not losing any of their revenue?

if BCCI accepts it people from other countries should be grateful to them..

India does not play India and bring in 70% of the revenue. They have to play other nations to bring in the money. Its a two way traffic. BCCI is cash rich anyway, if other nations don't generate sufficient cash to invest on the cricket then the money distribution model has to change, otherwise in a few decades some of the countries would not exist in the cricketing world..its not about being grateful, its about being sensible.

Then why Big 3 were opposed? It was a good plan then as money generated between those 3 teams playing each other is more so they should get more money right?

You definition of sensble is India giving its money away.

I don't know how brexit will affect the calculations, but if the Scots leave, that will be a significant hit. Each source, IMF, CIA, World Bank has slightly different calculations, so I'm not surprised to see Forbes differ. Oh I see, the data I had was from 2015, but India has surpassed UK due to the weakening of the pound. Fair enough.

What is the profit that BCCI make per year on average ? I heard the profit isn't high compared to operational cost ? Also heard 25,000 police are hired per each IPL match, is this true ?
