Mickey Arthur was absolutely categorical about this in Australia in December.
He does not want Misbah and Younis to retire at the same time and leave newcomers filling the Numbers 4 and 5 slots in Tests.
(Although these are the least consistently productive two middle-order batsmen in world cricket, as I will shortly show......)

But now we find that Misbah has refused to retire, even though these are his scores in reverse order in the away Tests in England, New Zealand and Australia:
18 + 38
11 + 0
4 + 5
31 + 13
15
56 + 10
52 + 35
114 + 0
Younis Khan's record is arguably even worse with 2 massive innings failing to hide multiple dismal failures:
175* + 13
21 + 24
0 + 65
2 + 11
2 + 1
218
31 + 4
1 + 28
33 + 25
Younis failed to reach a score of 40 in 6 away Tests out of 9. While Misbah has failed to reach 40 in any of his last 5 away Tests.
So surely, if Misbah plays on, Inzamam is required to drop - or at least "rest" Younis Khan.
