First game of our England trip!

Let's see how we fare, and what our team combo will look like.

Wonder if Hafeez will start, or whether precautionary measures will be taken. Also eager to see who our pacers will be and whether or not Yasir will start, especially with the news of Shadab being fit for the WC just in.

Mickey already said that Yasir is playing today, Mohammad Hafeez may not play.

Pacers most likely will be Hasan, Shaheen and Faheem.

Expected team:

Fakhar Zaman
Imam Ul Haq
Babar Azam
Haris Sohail
Sarfraz Ahmed
Shoaib Malik
Imad Wasim
Faheem Ashraf
Hasan Ali
Yasir Shah
Shaheen Afridi

Really hoping Haris smacks a ton and Malik fails. Somehow need a top 6 of:

Fakhar
Imam/Abid
Babar
Haris
Sarfraz
Hafeez

Let's see how Faheem perform against these weak oppositions
If he failed with the bat in these practice matches and in the series against England than he should be replaced with a bowler ( Amir, Shinwari or Wahab)

Because Faheem is not a wicket taking option nor he contains runs from one side

So it means Micky wants Yasir in our World Cup squad. Such a pathetic coach. Bot Inzi and he needs to be booted out after the World Cup.

Current ICC Champions Trophy holders Pakistan will face the Kent Spitfires in a one-day tourist match at The County Ground, Beckenham on Saturday as they ramp up their preparations for the 2019 Cricket World Cup starting in May.

The visitors have been training at The County Ground and will look to use this fixture to prepare for a limited-overs series against England starting next week.

2019 Kent Cricket Academy graduate Jordan Cox is set to start in his first appearance for Kent and Kent Second XI’s wicketkeeper Marcus O’Riordan and all-rounder Jared Lysaught are included.

Due to injuries to a number of Kent players over the last couple of weeks, the ECB have given the club permission to include 2 guest players for this fixture.

Middlesex seamer James Harris will re-join the county for this match after playing for Kent on loan in 2017. Essex’s Dutch right-armer Shane Snater will also feature.

For Pakistan, distinguished leg-spinner Yasir Shah, who broke an 82-year-old record in December by claiming his 200th wicket for Pakistan in just 33 Tests, is could feature against the county he played for two seasons ago.

Right-handed batsman Babar Azam is currently ranked 7th in the world in the official ICC ODI Batting Rankings.

Six members of the Pakistan squad selected for their tour of England featured against Kent in a drawn three-day tour match last season.

Expect nothing but a Pak victory here!

Asif, Haris and Abid should be playing.

Obsession with Yasir continue. Looks like Inzi and incompetent management want Yasir in the World Cup team in any cost.
Yasir will cost us many matches but he will be in our ODI team even after World Cup until Inzi and Micky stays.

It is not only Inzi's fault. Playing 11 is mostly decided by the Captain and coach.

Clueless playing 11. Hasnain and Amir should have been in playing 11 instead of Shaheen and Hasan.

Inzi is the selector!!! And He is there for nearly 4 years and still unable to find a single spinner.
Same goes with Sarfraz who keep silent/wholeheartedly agree with the selection and Micky the drama queen has lack of passion for new players

May be worth noting this is a depleted Kent side according to commentators.

Kent being taken to the cleaners. PAK 87/0 after 13 overs.

Would be good warm up for players though teams given as oppositions are not the best county teams but still will help the players to get acclimatized with the conditions.

I hope that our players are rotated well in the warm up games and even against England. Need everyone to be fit before the start of the WC.

39 off 47 is a disgrace against a team like Kent on a batting paradise.

Finally Babar will get his chance, Imam departs for 39 just after the rain break.

We are seeing a different Fakhar Zaman indeed.

What a champ!

Let him play against international opponent. Apart from His inning vs India in CT final and vs Aus in triangular, he utterly failed in international arena.

He was the 2nd highest scorer in Pak vs NZ series after Ross Taylor and was highest from Pakistan and he scored 2 50s in 3 matches and had a SR of 90 for the series. How is that utter failiure? He struggled a bit in SA like most players do on their first tour of SA and in the last ODI he scored 70 at SR close to 100.

He is yet to play even 50 ODIs, give the guy some time.

Utter failure? Really? I guess you are reading too much posts without much facts.

One thing our openers need to understand is that if one goes, its more responsibility on the other to go till the end or atleast 40 overs. Fakhar was already already playing at a high SR so there was no problem if he had gone with SR of 100 after Imam fell though I can understand its a warm up but still.

Our struggles against spin is a big issue, we have improved batting against pace bowling a lot over last 5 years but we were letting even the likes of Maxwell bowling his 10 overs with economy of 3 odd.

In this match there is intent but execution is still not there from our top 5.

Left arm spinners always seem to cause problems for PAK. Even Aaron Finch bowled fairly well against PAK lol.

My God, Imran Qayyum an unknown player has taken 4 wickets for 13. Imagine what Kuldeep is going to do to us.

Now's it a good opportunity for Imad and faheem to showcase their batting talent, situation is tailor made for them.

So Sarfraz has watched Rizwan in the Aus series and decided he will do what Rizwan did - bat at 5 and score centuries. Unfortunatley for Sarfraz, his batting has been going downhill for years and if he keeps this up, he will singlehandedly lose us games.

Solid performance so far but I am just looking at the team make up and it does not look good. Pak need to play 3 pace bowlers, and then Faheem, not 2 and then the all rounder.

So sad that we can't drop our captain. But can they atleast drop Malik for Haris so that we have less accumulators in the side?

A bit on Imad Wasim:

Imad's home ground is Diamond Islamabad and he has done quite well batting there. Technically he was never bad and has scored cruicial runs down the order for Islamabad. Now its pleasing to see that he has improved his power game and improvisation game too.

I wish he could turn the ball.

Jahan pana Hafeez bhai should let his ego go and bat at no 6 for the best interest of the team.

Hafeez to play at 6? Ok! So who will you play at 5? Sarfraz? What did "prince" Sarfraz did in batting during last 3 years to play at international level?
