Shoaib Malik speaking to the press today

"If you are talking about One-Day format, then there are same sort of pitches all over the world, its just that when you play in Australia, South Africa, New Zealand and England, you get some extra bounce"

"That's why our cricket board gives us extra time [to adjust] whenever we go to these countries; they give us 20-25 days to go there in advance and get used to all those conditions"

"Most of the players have played all over the world and know what conditions they are going into but its still good that we get some extra days [to adjust] where we are touring"

"Whenever someone scores big from the first 3 batters that allows you to get to close to 300 and then you give the best opportunity to your bowling attack to defend that total"

"So first 3 batters have a key role, especially Imam-ul-Haq and Babar Azam have been playing exceptional cricket"

"Even Fakhar Zaman batted well in the last game and I was expecting him to finish in the way he started off but of course you learn from your mistakes"

"Fakhar Zaman scored some good 44 runs but after that he gave it away; I wasn't expecting that but that happens when you are a young and an attacking player and learning processes never end"

"Its a good sign for our cricket that our first 3 batters are performing at a consistent basis"

"I think he was injured in the last game, and he was struggling with his neck but whoever plays, the goal is to give your best shot"

"Its not about eleven players but its about the team and the right combination which is what the management has been focussing on, and giving enough opportunities to the players"

"Before getting into the World Cup, the more they play, the more they gain experience and then they can have a better opportunity to do well in the bigger [stage]"

"We will be playing against one of the best sides of the world in their home conditions and we be playing competitive cricket"

"We are trying to focus to give opportunities to those players who we think will participate in the World Cup"

"I think its a great opportunity for all of us who are in South Africa to play against one of the best sides"

Sensible comments from Malik, its always good to say words that give your players confidence. Sarfaraz should learn to give confidence rather than pointing out mistakes and playing blame games in the press.

This is how you build class players like Haris Sohail who was produced by Malik. Not by shouting, swearing, and being a racist. Sarfraz mafia won't like it, but it's the truth.

So no Shan Masood for the final game as well? Poor guy. Looked very good in the tests and has legendary list A stats.
