Imam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Hafeez take Pakistan to a five-wicket win in first ODI against South Africa

We have a weak middle order and thats due to the choice. We have some decent middle order players coming through but they cant come in just before the world cup now.

For me shoaib and Hafeez should not play together... One at a time and instead a new batter could make to team.... I guess best time to reintroduce Umar Kamal back in team
 
Why does Imam get so much hate? He’s the best opener Pakistan have produced after Saed Anwar

Ideally neither should play as they are walking wickets against quality pace. However our management cannot live without seniors.

Haris and Saud replacing Hafeez and Malik would strengthen the middle order.

A number of things could have been done but its too late now. Management thought that team already lacks experience so they need seniors. However its better to have inexperience than seniors with such limited ability mostly due to being aged around 38
 
Get to 155 in 30 overs without losing a wicket and Pakistan will win

Only 2 of Hafeez, Malik, Imad should play and make way for Shan or Haris. Hafeez and Malik should bowl 10 together otherwise batting is thin after top 3
 
England, South Africa and West Indies are my favourite international venues.

Sounds like a terrific atmosphere.
 
I give credit for the South Africans passion but their bands are really annoying non stop

other nations have a better domestic structure than ours that properly nurtures their players, the ones that disappeared for them reappeared due to that reason

we don't even have one decent player in the und 19 ranks... look what other countries are producing.

One of the most smooth partnerships I have seen for Pak batsmen in ODIs, without giving a single chance. And I am not surprised that youngsters are doing this
 
Looking at how the SA quicks have bowled here, Hassan Ali really bowled well.

Shaheen Shah is also from recent U19 squad. Shadab was from previous one I guess.

Umkut Chand and number of other Indian players have also gone D tracked. But, yes I agree we should be developing our youngsters better.

Lol some people will bring all kind of stuff to show Pak cricket is finishing. Of course they need to improve a lot on current ranking but there is good reason for their poor showing which questionable selections, Pak denied home advantage, lack of international exposure for youngsters, lack of quality facilities in domestics etc. etc. Of course when there is not much internation cricket being played at home then it would impact development. Better days are ahead with Pak heading for change in economy and security profile.

Could have become a good leader and was a very decent ODI player however his style of play was very similar to Imam, he wasnt the most dominating unless the situation required. His strike rotation became really good as he matured and I am hopping the same for Imam.
 
Seems like passive captaincy has taken over world cricket, not much proactive captaincy to be found anywhere

the youngsters of today are more obsessed with taking selfies, getting the maximum likes and watching liverpool or man united.

Lucky wins. Happens. Leicester won the PL one season as well doesn't mean they're the best team

you could rely on salman in odis... he either got out first ball duck or he made his starts count

he was averaging 36 from 2004-2010 which was more than decent during that time
