Imam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Hafeez take Pakistan to a five-wicket win in first ODI against South Africa

You were jumping up and down on how sa were having a batting practice. What happened now looking like a clown?

South African batsmen set the game perfectly, but if you cannot defend 260 against this bog average lineup, you only have yourselves to blame.

South African bowlers had an off day, but they will bounce back.

i think faheem needs it more, the only time he's looked good while batting was against sri lanka in ct 2017 when he was run out for 15 i think

Agreed, Shadab scored a nice 48 not out in the last test match itself.

They're just warming up and rounding out their form in preparation for the next series. No point playing hard against minnow sides.

We're not playing hard either against these minnows :sarf2

shadab is fine in tests it's just in odis where i'm not sold on him batting at 5 down..

kinda like where younis was great in tests but a huge liability in odis

You still have to win games. Their batsmen were holding themselves back, but they still posted a total that should have been beyond our reach, but that wasn’t to be because they bowled poorly.

Pakistan should continue with same team in next match... Then for next 2 matches Hussein talat should replace shoaib Malik and Sarfaraz should take rest and make way for Rizwan...

Yes batting lineup is average but still top 3 is decent on a day it performs. If that was the thinking of SA it was a big gamble.

hafeez was missed in the asia cup tbh

the one place where he thrives

I still believe Imam is the key. If SA get him out, Pakistan will have their customary panic. Imam is the calming influence in this line-up.

Hafeez since Aus-NZ LOIs have been in sublime touch. If he can continue this in WC :hasan

Hafeez looks like batsman who is in form but doesn't even know it! :)))

He's nervous as hell but timing the ball superbly!

Pakistan the ‘minnows’ doing pretty well eh? You were the one that said 266 was enough for this ‘bog average ‘ lineup.

And now that we’re winning you still have nothing positive to say.

MMHS you still think Imam is not fit for ODIs?

He's the one who plays through the innings and ends up with a SR of 90. That is brilliant by Pakistani standards. It's Babar who is stalling the innings at number 3, not Imam.

I remember how posters here were hoping for Amla to get out at 99, instead the upcoming pakistani star batsman Babar gets out for 49 in the silliest manner.

#JusticeForAmla

Though we can still have the last laugh if we win this.

Thankfully PPers didn’t have their say, otherwise Imam would have been dropped for that hack Sahibzada.

Rabada has decent pace, he hit him for six as well.

EXCUSES, EXCUSES AND MORE EXCUSES.
These were the same people that were saying South Africa's bowling line-up will test Pakistan apart
Learn to appreciate

Too many all rounders in the side, get Afridi and Tallat in the next game for imad and faheem, who agrees??

What is ya'lls take on Ntini's commentary? Personally, I find him quite annoying. He just sounds like an excited teenager in the com box!

Best result. Easy Pak win but Amla bhai still gets his hundred :amla

This pitch here is slow hence our batsmen are able to handle pacers but still this was unexpected.

Afew more courageous knocks and we all will accept, today he is playing brilliantly.Brilliant simple.I am pretty much surprised.

agreed, he needs to chill out and stop being so extra, it's hella cringeworthy

Ntini alone nullifies all the good young commies in Clarke, Sanga and Laxman

This is the best innings he has played in his career - let him play 4 more games. I don't think ODI is his strongest suit & there are better options - if he proves me wrong in next 4 games, most welcome to WC. I for one always say that PAK needs to chop average squad age by at least 5 years.

Islamabad United triplets Faheem, Talat and Shadab are all in the squad :yk2

With the greatest of respect, this is one of the most boring ODIs of all time.

Been streaming it since the start of the chase.

Why has only 2 wickets fallen per innings?
