Imran Farhat Vol.2

THAT Six ! WOW!

No Lara, to be honest if you forget about past record, Farhat of today actually looks like a lefty mirror image of Tendulkar. The backfoot punch, the upper cut attempt, the straight lofted six over bowlers' head and the follow through all reminded me of Tendulkar. Of course one has been a struggling player throughout his career and the other is probably the greatest ever but looks wise its pretty close.

that six was a perfect reply to Steyn's "come on mate you can hit as well" :)

I know he won the game, but he still looks a poor quality batsman. He missed just about every attempt at pulling the short ball and it was flinging the bat around without hitting the ball cleanly a lot of the time. He's got his big score that he hits once a year, back to his usual 15-20 runs on Sunday probably.

He stuck around and that too with a lot of luck. I think Jamshed is head and shoulders above Farhat and if needed would probably do a much better job of batting through the innings.

he looks out of confidence so better to rest him..but he should be the first choice in the Champions trophy despite this good Farhat's performance..

Jamshed is a much better player - just he threw his wicket away where as Farhat did put a price on it today and played a good innings.

I would kick out YK and bring in either Jamshed or UA.

This guy is so secure, i mean you don't really expect a Pakistani opener to build an inning like that under such immense pressure. Remarkable temperament and he's looked all class. Of course, it would have been great had the SR been better but anyway it seems like he got it all nicely sorted out in his mind. In my opinion, he's the most technically sound opener in the sub continent.

Batting technique (in descending order)

Imran
Vijay
Dhawan
Jamshed
Gambhir
Ashwin
Bhuvaneshwar Kumar
Umar Gul
Ishant Sharma
Mohd Hafeez

I hope you are trolling because his technique against the short ball made me

The champ is here!

Outperforms other top order fellow Pak batsmen again.

Hate to say it but Farhat has finally earned his place in the team.

f_c, why do you have such a man crush on him?

We might laugh including me: but at least the guy looks to score. You wonder what te other guys are thinking at times.

Scoring runs in competitive conditions, haters should stop embarrassing themselves coz this man's defensive game has improved big time. You are free to miss out on 10-15 tons in next 3-4 years by keep ignoring him though, only your loss.

True. He is getting stick for being mediocre before but these days, he has been pretty good.

Farhat Jamshed Hafeez Umar Misbah Shafiq Rizwan Adil Ajmal Junaid Irfan

I guarantee you right now that Farhat would outperform Jamshed in the Champions Trophy.

Jamshed would not be able to cope in difficult batting or good bowling conditions

Farhat's performances since the birth of Vol.2 -

56 vs Lanka (ODI)
30, 43 vs RSA (Test, away)
93 vs RSA (ODI, away)
13 vs RSA (ODI, away)
46 vs Scotland (away)

Only 1 clear failure out of 6 outings.

Still doesn't get consistent opportunity. I wonder what wrong he has done.

Just saw his batting today against mighty Irish, it was just cringeworthy. It was just plain embarrassing to watch him bat him like that.

He is a Rubbish batsman #FACT, he always been a failure and will always be.

By the standards of some people here that was a well paced innings

support pakistan support those who are performing for pakistan right now outside SC

Show you gay love for jamshed elsewhere :D

1 bad game and your tripping how many bad games have jamshed played and your still buzzing

i'm not saying he is a failure could be form or just the conditions outside SC are not suiting him
if he starts performing then i will give him support what matters to me is who is keeping the score ticking for Pakistan because i support pakistan not the players because players come and go.

take a bow Imran farhat, you are truly showing your worth against mighty Irish bowlers. If he is so fantastic against this attack I wonder how good would he be against Roach, Rampul, Steyn and Morkel

You are truly the best, all hail Farhat :sami

thanking farhats father in law for another great performance , from a great batsmen! all hail farhat :farhat take a bow

Pakistan may have made a massive blunder with the selection of Imran Farhat over Ahmed Shezad for the champions trophy

Cant write him off after 2 bad peformances. He played well in the last series.

The real waste of space is Jamshed who has been failing with the bat ever since he left UAE and India

Farhat will be given a chance in the CT matches. Watch him fail in the 3 games there.

You seem very sure.

So if he does perform in one of the three games, will you be willing to admit you dont know what the hell are you talking about?

Or you dont want to take this bet :farhat

he performed in previous series ....that innings against SA where he scored 90 was one of the worst innings of that number....could have been out many a time....won pakistan the game but has done more damage than good in the long run like i said at the time

Its unfair for SD to take this bet..we all know :farhat will make his way back into the team...u know how ;)

17/4 - so why send only Farhat home?

MenIG bhai, he has been playing for almost 10 years and I got one question to you

Do you see any improvemen in these last 10 years, if not why persist with him. I rather bring a youngsters like Ahmed Shezad and Babar Azam who may be as bad as him but there is hope for improvement.

Unlike him

Who's saying only send Farhat home? A lot of people (including me) are wanting Jamshed to be axed as well.

It's pathetic to see your defensive approach. Even you know that if he's lucky, he'll only score in 1/3 games and not in all 3 games.

Even if Sir Imran performs in 1/3 of the CT games, he should be axed from the ODI side for good. And I'm not only talking about Farhat - this applies for Jamshed as well.

i don't know what cricket you watch but the guy has the 3rd highest average in the pakistani team after Misbah & Hafeez, even a blind man can see the improvement

Whatever you think or whatever i think doesn't matter this Guy proved his place in the team and still stay not because of this warm up match but he showed in S tour also.

Asad Shafiq gets out cheaply... and we bump THREE follow threads and start abusing him....

but what about this sifa-rishi ..... the best fisherman in the cricket world???

Haters calm down. Law of averages caught up with Vol.2, he had to fail somewhere. RSA and India will be afraid of him now.

Law of averages caught up with Imran, he was doing quite well before CT.

Now what a pathetic thread. Useless I mean. One chancy innings of a below average player and all of a sudden somebody's go gaga over it. Rubbish to say the least

I must admit, the few 20-30 runs he has ever made have been a pleasure to the eye. From a viewers' point of view, it'd be great if classy players like Imran, Yasir Hameed, Taufeeq Umar, Shoaib Malik etc all start scoring runs.

Still feeling sorry for Younis though. :(

:facepalm::13::runaway::31:

My [ak batting line-up would be -

Nasir Jamshed
Imran Farhat Vol.2
Umar Akmal
Fawad Alam
Misbah Ul Haq
Kamran Akmal
Shahid Afridi

Misbah and Afridi indivually may be crap but together they find a combination that is simply heavenly. Further Kamran sandwiching the two enigmas is just icing on the cake.

Brace yourself Sir :farhat is on his way for 26th comeback and i'm pretty confident that Steyn & co. will make sure that he will have a 27th comeback as well :hamster:

any chances of a return?

I was becoming a fan of yours and always stopped to read your posts but now you have lost a bit of respect.:yk
And I am pretty sure you are trying to destroy Pak cricket by getting easy walking wickets.
 at people who think Farhat will improve.

Biased haters, please control your emotions. Immy seemed pretty comfortable against South African bowlers in last few outings. I think it wont be a bad idea to give him a go in UAE.

Imran Farhat Vol .2 is already in the team and his name is Ahmed Shehzad.

No thanks.

No thanks.

Shehzad has a different role to play, he's bit of a dasher. Immy is someone who can play responsible innings and hold one end, kinda role that Rohit Sharma is playing opposite to Shikhar Dhawan.

Shehzad-Immy sounds like a good opening pair.

Yes sounds like a good opening pair for Bermuda or Scotland.

Netherlands have better batsmen.
