What was so marginal about giving the boundary when Tendulkar was touching the rope. Clear cut boundary.

I appreciate a good game and that it was but don't you thing there was clear bias towards the end.

Like what? Giving Gibbs not out when he clearly edged one?

Or giving a wide when the second last ball landed on the marker line and the decision could have gone either way?

One positive coming out of today's game (for India) is that they have found their winning 14 today.
:)))

Men of the match : Indian umpires

Legends like Jayprakash and Hariharan will be shedding a tear or 2 today.

Robin Jackan, the South African commentator, said he wasnt sure. Lance Klusener, the neo sports panel expert, another South African, also said he wasnt sure.

After a 1000 replays, it was obvious that it was quite inconclusive. How in the world do you expect the umpire to over-turn the decision?

Inconclusive, yeah right. He was touching the rope. That much is clear.

All right let's observe -

In S.A's favor - A wide not given, a boundary not given. A loss of 2 runs.

In India's favor - Gibbs got a life off the first ball he faced. It cost us 27 runs.

Make up your mind !

Anyone has a link to SRT's fielding that ball which many are saying should have been a 4?

no, that was not clear..because if it was, they would have called it a boundary...but it is not a surprise that Pak fans are now South Africans...

If anytihng, getting 3 was the better decision for SA since they had Wayne Pernell on strike and has their best batsman today...which is what they preferred...

Actually the boundary rope did move when Sachin was in contact with the ball. That is quite clear.

Shaun Udal was of the opinion that it should have been a 4.

Exactly.

clearly Kallis should have been man of the match

he took 3 wkts and 89 runs
while jadeja only 22 runs and 2 wkts
what were the match officails thinking.

What about the performance of the umpires ? They done very well for India so I would give the award to them instead.

That's what jackman was also saying!

I think you can leave now Tendlya - disgusting comments.

I can understand SA whinging about the umpiring. But why our Pak brothers crying so much as if they lost the match.Clearly this loss affected Paksitanis than Saffies.

Yep.. it's a great match. We became complacent after getting 7 wickets. We should've gone for the kill. Instead, dhoni gave the ball to raina just to run through some overs.. Over time, players develop this fear of failure attitude. I think that's what is happening with dhoni.

That's easily explained, my friend.

We are fair-minded people, and would like to see truth and justice triumph everywhere.... even in places where its most unwelcome :)

Let's suppose this is true. Let's suppose this is not true. What difference does it make in either case?

But that seems to vanish the moment a debate about that Sydney Test match of 2008 comes up.

Bad decisions went both ways.

almost every match has a couple of decisions that could have gone either way. This match had two umpires from the host country so i guess it adds a little masala.

Tendulkars save could have gone either way. I think the saffers would have been happy with the three as it got parnell on strike. the wide in the last over could have also gone either way.

Honestly i think most of the pakistanis here are just kidding around a bit. No major errors were made and errors were made that favoured both teams ( eg Gibbs).

To say errors were made is one thing, but to say they purposely gave bad decisions to favour india is another.

Momo, let us enjoy a thrilling victory, after a looooong time. I can only remember us playing Sri lanka for the last 20 matches or something.

Side note: India is not playing Pakistan. No need to get upset when one team wins. If India wins its not like Pakistan lost, and vice versa. Its a little sad to see. like itduzz's thread (which i can't find anymore), first thing that came to his mind after Pakistan beat ENGLAND was suck it Indians. Let us keep all this rivalry in reserve for when we actually play each other.
