Our batting will struggle to chase even a 130ish target on these flat pitches against Ind in a WC. The pressure would be way too high in the 2nd innings. Our only chance would be to somehow get pretty much everthing right from the begining to the end :
1. Win toss & bat fitst
2. Score 50 runs in powerplay with not more than 2 wickets down
3. Set a target of above 190
4. Get Kohli out before he faces 20 balls
5. Take care of Rohit too.

Thats a long way to go for Pak. The streak is supernatural. We need a Batman against this Superman like indian side (against us in WCs).

Putting 190 on the board and the game is all ours IMO, I don't think bharat can chase that down against us.

Sharma is better than Shehzad and Kohli better than Hafeez.

I will take Sharjeel over Dhawan in T20's. Dhawan uses a lot of balls and bats At a SR around 110?

Raina - Akmal. It's fifty fifty but Akmal does better in big WT20 games.

Yuvraj- Malik: yuvraj of past was in a different class but this yuvraj is better than no one.

Dhoni- Sarfraz: again fifty fifty. Both not made for this format.

Afridi - Jadeja, well.

The bowlers. Ashwin is a better spinner than Imad and that's all.

Amir Irfan afridi are 3 world class bowlers. Wahab is not bowling well but still is better than the nothing player Pandya!
 
Pakistan has a mental block against India. Whenever Pakistan plays against India, Pakistani players look so petrified, shocked and lost. Pakistani players are just not gutsy enough when playing against India.

you are right bro, but it's freaking t20, if only for half an hour our start align and luck totally work in our favor and i mean just need a single umar or afridi blinder or amir or wahab amazing spell and the curse can be over. But don't know why it never ever happened.
 
This is the one where Pakistan finally break the jinx imo. I back their chances in a t20 much more than in an ODI where they are incapable of handling the pressure of the occasion for the full 100 overs. Here, a good 6-7 overs is all it needs to win.

You missed 2014 T20 WC (Dhaka) and 2012 T20 World Cup (Colombo).
 
The real streak is the ODI WC one going back almost 25 years, amazing how long it has and will last for (at least 27 years).

When will we become chasers ?

If levels of Dew are same like in yesterday's game in Mumbai than even our pacers won't be able to grip the ball properly and control line and length. And Afridi, Imad & Malik will get butchered in second innings.

If dew levels are same as yesterday in Mumbai than if we win the toss we should field first. This would give advantage of our pacers which are our strength. If the dew levels are drastically less than Mumbai than we should bat first.

The match will be between India's batting and Pakistan's bowling.


We are bad chasers but still we cannot ignore playing conditions.

About the weather accuracy not sure about any other site but I don't think Cloudy has anything to do with dew as such it might the dew(which will happen after rain anyway) ,anyone can correct me.

If only streaks mattered in the eventual outcome of the match. We had a streak of something like 40-0 against BD that didn't prevent them from giving us a handsome whooping in recent times.

None of it matters to me. What matters is that we beat them in the next game we play in order to get the points which will help us reach the next round.

These streaks and records etc add some spice to the contest but ultimately I just want to win the tournament.

I am always of the view that we should compare head to head for the last 5 and maximum 10 years. We cannot keep counting the head to head of the last 50 years when teams, conditions, rules, and everything else was different. Unfortunately, India is probably ahead when it comes to head to head as well when you compare the last 5 to 10 years.

Last 10 years in ODIs. Pakistan and India played 26 ODIs off which India won 16 and Pakistan won 10.

But the record of not losing for 24 years will remain. And unlikely that Pak will close that Gap in our lifetime. Thats what is the real beauty of this record. :)

Bhai log kahay ko itna tension letay ho, ye match tu apun nai jeetay ga, but cup apna he hai, isliye indian bhai log aap b khush k chalo streak tu bchi WC ke khair hai, and reverse case for pak, streak ko maro goli wo tu apun k bs ke bat nai, but cup tu jeet lia wo b dushman k mulk me dushman k samnay.

I've seen pretty much all the games. For most of my life we've been better than them.

It's an annoying inexplicable and overhyped record (bar the KO games).

Will end at some point.
 
Indians have had one bad game against NZ, and we had one very good game against BD, but let us not get carried away. Our record against them is nothing to write home about. Fortunately, we are playing at the same venue, so that will be a plus for us. The crowd will surely support the Indians, unless they begin to fall apart again, in which case I am sure the crowd will turn against the Indians and support US !!!!!
 
Still don't see a win happening for Pakistan.

They may have fired against Bangladesh and India may have faltered against New Zealand.

Afridi has used up his freak innings in a tournament already and Hafeez has already minnow bashed. Umar Akmal doesn't perform well against India. On top of that, this is a must win for India and they'll come back strong after their poor performance in the last match.

Win the toss and bat first then Pakistan will suffer from the dew and Afridi, Imad and Malik will get tonked about. Bowl first the Pakistan batting will crumble, once spinners are on the runs evaporate.

Also, conspiracy here, would the ICC let India losing and being knocked out of the World Cup in the group stages? :yk
 
PP forum is one big paragon of positivity nowadays after the BD game :) If Pakistan loses to India for the 11th time, this will not be a place to visit for the weak hearted.

I would say keep perspective and remember these positive feelings we have today - the positives or negative of our team will not go away in one game. We will still be the same good, not great team.
It is good to have the cushion of a win behind us. It's gold if you have only 4 matches to qualify.
 
11-0. Is there any point why we're still playing in world cups. Declare the match to us and have a rest day :)))
 
Lol lol, it's so predictable, were mentally shot against india, this was our best chance to beat em, pressure was on them having lost the first one , now theyl go on to dominate the tournament
 
Just seeing the way some of them got out... they weren't even looking at the ball, just blindly swinging. Kohli showed that proper cricket shots are what's needed. Not fly swatting like afridi and shezad
