What's new

India [178/3] beat Pakistan [172/10] by seven wickets in the Emerging Teams Asia Cup semi-final

Its amazing how two nations have gone in exact opposite directions in past decade or so..
One is reaching new levels of ascendency, while other is reaching new lows..
The result can be seen at senior level, emerging players level, under-19 level..

An unknown Indian squad mostly. Surprised at the way they are dominating Pakistan.

Our future will even worse than WI. At least they produce proper fast bowlers and some batsman who can hit hard and score fast where none of our batsmen can neither hit nor has ability to rotate the strike. Most of our bowlers are around 130k with minimal swing and gun barrel straight.

Best talent Saud is playing on 29 from 50 balls. If this is the best talent. We are doomed. Mediocre batsman

Team run rate 3.85

Captain of team Rizwan (Int Player) had SR of 70.

Saud Shakeel 62(72) at SR of 86

Best Talent in Emerging team is Saud Shakeel.

By the way the innings has started
Ind 26/1 (5 overs)
Scores live on Cricbuzz

Don't look at final scorecard. He is like Babar. Makes his SR somewhat acceptable at the end. He started exactly like Babar, who wasted so many balls. TalentSpotterPk if he and Saad are best talent then we are going to be minnow in some years. They are nobodies. Shown their worth against no name Indians.

Jayant Yadav

Woah! this guy played 4 tests for India and has decent numbers as a bat and bowler.. Played one ODI, He, certainly isnt a nobody...

Even Oman scored 203 runs against this Indian attack, Oman has better emerging batsmen than us... :abbas1

Unfortunately its a bitter truth. People still living in fantasy world and talking all about talent. But unfortunately there is no proper talent in our domestic line up whether its batsman, bowler or all rounder.

I am more interested in the scoreboard once the innings ends wrt Batsman output in terms of runs scored and SR. Numbers aren’t lying.

Saad has limited skillset but he is gutsy, hardworking and consistent performer. Saud on the other hand is classical batsman with lazy elegance and finesse in his batting plus he is dynamic with shots all round the ground against pace and spin.

After Saeed Anwar & Mohammad Yousaf he is most stylish batsman who is going to wear Pakistan Cap InshaAllah.

It’s evident that you haven’t seen Saud Shakeel bat for Pakistan U-19, Khi, Ptv or Pakistan A.

LUNCH BREAK:
Khushdil Shah has reomved Ankush Bains 9, India 32/1 in 6 overs, target is 173

Pakistani batsmen are the culprit here. How Pak bowlers will defend such a small total?

5 sixes in last 6 balls ... our batting is bad but bowling is much worse... things not looking good for future

Himmat Singh could potentially be earning himself a fat IPL paycheck here. What a time to perform

Another thumping win for India. India vs Pakistan rivalry is dead . The new generation of Pak cricketers are not skillful

Such a pointless tournament. We have 'A' games, U19 category and now Emerging players. :jimmy

By seeing this rubbish players I really can't blame Inzi. Our bench players are not even compete with Top 5 U-19 teams.

Doubt any of these nobodies will ever really play for Pakistan. Lets be honest this is the first time an emerging team has been setup and lets also be honest our strength in depth is pathetic. But the saving grace for a game like cricket is you dont need 11 players ready to replace 11 like in football. You need aperhaps five or six players..Im sure we can find those and we as shown by the emergence of faheem, shadab, afridi, raees fakhar who have all just arrived on the scene in the last twelve to 18 months..

Somehow I feel the PSL is a better showcase for our players than these mickey mouse tournaments..

we just fought a war on the streets of pakistan..give the nation a bit of a break..

I thought Musa going at economy rate of 7.2 was our upcoming Waqar younis? :danish

This team has exceeded my expectaitons

Getting thrashed by this side is not a great sign for Pak Cricket
This team is no way our best u-23 side
Most of the players don't even have an IPL contract

Should be walk in the park for India. India will win by 7-8 wickets with 10-15 overs in hand. Pathetic batting display by our over-hype Farhan, Saad, Zeeshan and Khusdil. Should never be considered these new flat track bullies to any of our team.

you got the wickets right - 7 wickets, but got overs wrong- they still had 23 overs left, so I guess our team is not as strong as you might have thought... :uak

Lol, Pretty sure this ain't our best u-23 side either, these players were picked on t20 stats rather than domestic one day/first class stats, but have to admit, this Indian side was phenomenal. Credit to indian team management and huge Indian population of 1.5 billion.

What's with huge population, aus have 20 mil population and they are pretty good in every sports, don't give such a lame excuse.

Shahibazada Farhaan,Saud Shakeel,Mohammed Rizwan,Hussain Talat,Saad Ali,Mohamed Ashgar

All these players are hyped in this forum and Pak fans want them in the side

I have never seen any Indian hyping any of the Indian players playing this tournament (barring Ankit Rajpoot to some extent)

I expected nothing from Pakistan yet I'm still disappointed. India are the superior nation :(

We cannot compete with India at any level, and this is only the beginning.

Only shows how bad the grass root structure is in Pakistan. Getting thrashed at every level even against Bangladesh, forget India. I have no doubt that Saad Ali and Saud Shakeel are another reincarnations of Haris Sohail. Mentally timid. Only on this forum are they hyped. Everybody who is not in the team is supposedly the best out there and will improve the team manifold which is truly not the case. Wait till some of our ODI batsmen fail in a series and people will say "Hafeez was much better".

I have not even heard any Indian player names. Wow they just thrashed us!! Things don't look good....

"He's much better than the Imads and Shadabs"..

True. The problem goes deeper. The domestic structure is where the problem is. India to be fair havent really messed around with their core feeding ground which is the Ranji trophy. Nobody really talks about it but look at the scores and monitor it. If you do well in that your going to go places. The pitches are good batting picthes and bowlers have to work hard. Our quaid e azam trophy was a direct copy (but with depts) of this structure. Same pitches same conditions etc. But we started tinkering and messing around and now look..

The Indian boys probably had the advantage of being familiarized with conditions better. Still, that was a thumping and half.

Pakistan is no competition for India in any levels, let it be senior, U19, U23 or women's cricket. We are simply too good and have got too much talent. Champions trophy final was an anamoly.

These Sauda,Saads and Farhaans all are rubbish. Finally we can say there is no talent in Pakistan

ACC should exclude India from any future Asia cups...let it be senior or emerging. Else India will win all of them and other teams wont have a chance. Indian cricket have left other Asian teams by huge margin.

Saud Shakeel the only positive. He showed he has the mental toughness to succeed at the highest level.

I guess he heard Mickey's cry of "grind it out!".

Bar Saud Shakeel, this dismal display is a dose of reality to the PP hype brigade who make out there's a golden generation waiting in the wings.

We are far behind India and now Bangladesh are giving us a tough time.

PCB should be ashamed of itself for allowing our cricket to rot in this manner. It's time to take a blowtorch to domestic cricket - where there's far too many freeloaders with pathetic records that keep their contracts year after year leading to a quality of competition that's barely above club level.

Move to eight regional teams and reduce the playing pool so only the best of the best compete in our FC tournament. I don't want to hear crying about players who won't be able to make a living from cricket anymore - this is not a bloody Welfare State, if you're not good enough for FC level you shouldn't have a contract. Go to school and get another job.

I miss the banter India-Pak rivalry brought in threads a few years ago. Now I don't even visit these threads anymore, it's all way too one-sided and predictable.

Let them whitewash Zimbabwe in UAE again and you will see a herd of people claiming them the best team in the world and 2019 world cup winner.

Have you forgotten the pre-Asia cup era already?

👍Thoroughly agree

Sahibzada Farhan is dreadful. I cannot believe he was being hyped as a potential long-term ODI and T20 opener.

Who was the fastest Indian bowler? Rajpoot looks good, but I don't think he is pacy enough. His cricinfo profile says medium-fast. Would like to see another bowler with Bumrah's pace.

Mavi,Nagarkoti,Avesh khan.

I believe Pakistani players took all of our banter to heart and have proceeded to make sure we fans never troll Indian fans ever again. I cannot explain the lack of competence in any game involving India since the CT.

CT was an anomaly, India turned the tide against Pakistan in that 2003 WC game at centurion where they finally got their revenge against the 90's team of Pakistan on its last legs. Since then India has had a massive upper hand against Pakistan

Lols, many «big» Pakistani names destroyed by some unknown (to me atleast) indian players. Shows the abundance of talent in IND and lack of talent in Pakistan.

Big Pakistani players? I must be missing something

It's just a tournament, banter is fine but posters really get personal at times, in any case hopefully the players learnt how it is at INTL level and had good exposure.

This Indian team was filled with kids and no-names. Barely a couple of top prospects. No surprise, since there is a legit 'A' team tour going on in New Zealand. And the Ranji games are on as well.

Such a one-sided beat-down is shocking to me to be honest. Its a bad, bad sign for the future from a competitiveness perspective.

Hope my Indian bros on PP stay more grounded, what's the need to beat chests and mock others after a win? Need to show grace during such occasions.
