What's new

India [201/3] beat England [198/9] by seven wickets in third T20I to seal 2-1 series victory

Thats pretty mediocre fast bowling and its pretty disappointing that till now India has no bench strength in their fast bowling department.

I remember Chahar from moons ago, he had an 'Anwar Ali-esque' performance in some Ranji Trophy match, lots of swing. Looks like he added quite some pace as well. I always find harsh to throw a fast bowler into a T20 as intl debut, esp in away conditions/facing Eng batsmen.

The quality ones like Shaheen Afridi end up with a 3fer. :ronaldo

Where are Indian Fans?

Guys match is still on though its some thrashing to your bowlers but you have to realize that its a pretty mediocre bowling attack and asking guys to debut away from home against this lineup is a big ask but to be honest this is prett mediocre pace bowling.

Some posters show up only when India is not doing well otherwise they go hiding.

No bumrah, no bhuvi, no kuldeep. What do you expect?

Chahal looking the best bowler and you drop kuldeep, great job chump.

This is what you call a fluke wicket. By mistake he got this wicket. Even Indians would admit it.

Thats why I said in my previous post the Indian bench strength is really weak in bowling department.

It's not that weak, but sadly rather than giving young prospects a chance we give it to these average joes. It's sad seeing the nepotistic and hamfisted selections from the 90's back.

Wicket taking ability was what Shaheen showed, while I like Chahar’s action but Kaul’s action is as bad as Bumrah’s

What is in the bench strength?

Kohli?? I think Eng have done black magic on him.

How can u drop Kuldeep and retain Chahal?

Batting first against Pakistan and playing two spinners in the CT final was one thing. And in this decider, Kohli drops the bowler who got him five wickets just two matches ago, and decides to bowl first with a second string bowling attack.

Kohli's decisions are a bit baffling. Sometimes you wonder which team he is playing for.

Chahar should be sticked with, decent height, good physique, reasonable pace and does swing the new ball a bit. Kaul might perform but dont see him as a future prospect

Dabbe main dabba, dabbe main hole, oh mere Kohli apne phaast bowlers ko kuch to bol :msd:

This is not a WC, chill. They are testing all players in the squad. Doesn't matter even if we lose this T20 series. Kuli is more valuable and needs to be protected from getting worked out.

Who cares about action as long as they perform well?

Not only action I dont think I will see Kaul after couple of years as some top bowler. There is nothing much in his bowling. I like this guy Chahar, he looks a decent prospect

If the English total get pass 180, it will be impossible to chase down. You will need some Virat special to win that. It comes once in a life time.

A good bowler doesnt need to be a surprise factor and one shouldnt be worried about being worked out. Unless you are Ajantha Mednis whose whole bowling was based of deception, all other bowlers learn with time that when to use which variation

Exactly the kind of arrogance that will get you in a hole .

If you don't play your best bowlers in an international series decider, then you are ridiculing yourself and don't deserve to be playing the game.

There's more to cricket than the world cup and even that is several months away.

Don't like manjrekar as a comm, but atleast he asks the big questions rather than sucking up like a little sycophants that bhogle and Gavaskar are

Shami is poor t20 bowler, mavi & nagarkoti yet to even establish themselves.

Kids are better than the rubbish on display here. Shami is million miles better than chahar and kaul combined. Doesn't mean much but better is still better.

Pandya really gives it his all when he bowls a bouncer.

Shami, mavi, nagarkoti are all better than likes of chahar and kaul.

Nagarkoti and Mavi are yet to play any international match and havent heard any of them performing exceptionally well in IPL. Nagarkoti was injured I guess.

I was talking abt someone who can replace other good bowler without the team being disturbed a lot. Surely debutants are not gonna do that as these are experiments and not a like for like replacement at the moment

We have seen Unadkat, Thakur etc, they were nowhere near international standards. So someone who has never played an international match shouldnt be considered a bench strength.

Not sure why Shami doesnt play LOIs.

England are merely playing out Chahal here. He's been the best of the lot

I expect England to get 250+ easily. The other Indian bowlers have all gone for 10+ an over.

Shami lost it all due to injuries & poor ipl performances.
Kids needs earn their place in the team like chahar & kaul.
