Shocking from Afghan, they looked like a team which could potentially qualify, a massive turn over night. They have handed India the game on a plate, something just doesn’t feel right.

I know a lot of Indians will say we are just reaching but some interesting stats.

Nabi bowled 1 over, most experienced player playing one of the top teams. Naveen boweld 4 overs for 59 runs.

Afghan spinners bowled 7 overs today, on average have bowled 12 overs.

We all saw the fielding - nothing to add.

And the obvious drop in intensity (what no rushing the gates ticketless fans?)

It was obvious. IPL contracts and all.
Afghans did not turn up for game intentionally.

well batted. hope afghanistan will pull off some miracle in the kiwis match and india will reach semis.
eng vs india
aus/sa vs pak

Afghans share a huge political rivalry with Pakistan (at least from their side) while their rivalry with India is about as much as Pakistan's rivalry with Nepal or Bhutan, i.e., basically none because they're widely separated and don't even share a border.

Think a lot of Pakistanis don't realise that for a lot of Afghans, Pakistan is to them what's India is to Pakistan. Hence the overwhelmingly huge number of fans turning up for every game against Pakistan and players like Asghar Afghan retiring after saying he felt hurt after the Pakistan defeat.

Much better to watch WWE. Atleast when Jinder Mahal wins a game, they show the tomfoolery to the fans

:)))

Despite all my experience here, couldn't have guessed this much :uak would be underway already.

Fancied India have all but crashed out, Pakistan are in the semis. But still there's room for tears.

Anyway, it's a good match to watch for Pakistani fans. It can prepare them for what lies in store for them when they next face India in a World Cup. They'll learn what happens to star bowlers when they're put under pressure

:apology

Talk about chatting out your other hole :))

You're not seeing tears my man, you're seeing a difference of attitude of Afghanistani players v Pakistan, to the match today.

It may not be match fixing but Afghanistan sure have thrown the game away.

I am well aware of why they turn up to our matches. It is sad the team also carries the fan mentality. Only shows up then. When they have a chance to make their first semi final of a major tournament. Just goes to show their small team mentality.

India and Afghanistan simply doesn't share the same dynamics that Pakistan and Afghanistan share. When Nepal plays an ODI or T20 with India, you will see a similar intensity/rivalry that Af/Pak share. You guys should see when India plays a football match with Nepal in friendlies or the Saff cup, you'd be surprised at the intensity from Nepalese fans for the India Nepal match.

The Nepalese don't play their home games in India. Afghanistan has all the reasons to remain on India's good sides, and that includes holding back their intensity

Afghans don't play their home games in India anymore either after the Taliban takeover.

Afghans should look to get as close as possible to India total , that will keep there hopes alive as well as India.

Wow Indian bowlers are on a different level aren't they?
First the batsmen spank then for 211 and now they have them 13 for 2

India will win by a huge margin tonight. Afghanistan will defeat Kiwis. India will smash Namibia and will get to the semi-final on better net RR. They will defeat England there and meet Pakistan in the final and defeat Pakistan also.

Now if Afghanistan beats NZ in their next game, the conspiracy theorists here will go berserk :ashwin

Relax, Kiwis will win against Afghans.. Pakistan will face Eng in final.

By how much margin India has to win to get past NZ run rate ?

All NZ has to do is to beat Afg for them to qualify. And they should do that barring a miracle. Afghanistan, as good as they're, are still largely in the minnow territory.

Afghanis look so bad when playing against India. They put up a better fight against us. I hope they put up a better fight against NZ too. I would like to see india go through.

But do you really think Afganistan is playing with full zeal? I am never in favour of conspiracy theories like Mohali 2011 etc and never supported any but today with heavy heart I have to say this is clearly something fishy, I am not saying India would have not won against this flashy afghani side but man how can I ignore this...

I am very relaxed. Cricket is a funny game, anything can happen, that's it.

India will depend upon afghanistan winning big against newzealand.
Not going to happen.

India is out.

I thought something was fishy in the way India played against Pakistan and NZ. Kohli didn't even attempt to hit a boundary in the last few overs vs Pakistan.

Very worried this is 100% correct

Afghanistan kick into track

They should aim to reach 160-180 and preserve that nrr

Go hard against the Kiwis and they will be the ones most likely qualifying

Not going to happen.

India is out.

I have a feeling IND, AFG and NZ will all finish on 6 points

And Afghanistan will go through on nrr

Lol from being 50 all out to this 😂

When India played below their potential it was 'expected'. Ignore the fact they had an off day. Today played to their potential so its 'tixing'. Conveneient eh

India to Afghanistan :inti

Any Pakistani win is due to God given talent.

Any Indian win is due to a kaanspiracy theory:narine
Comveneience thy name leads to conspiracy theory. Fear that what if India qualifies for semis and there is a repeat encounter gives kaanspiracy theories birth

India need to develop Chahar and Bishnoi for the upcoming LOI matches.

Can't field Jadeja and Ashwin for the 2023 world cup, they'll get blasted to the stands.

Afghanistan need 153 runs from 66 balls.

Afghans are not chasing this well. I am surprised. I expected a bit more intent.

There are too many coincidences

- bowling first against your strength
- bowling 2 spinners up front against your strength
- shoulders down from ball 1 of side which has almost reached semis
- naveen bowling negative line he never bowled in previous matches
- Rashid khan bowling negative non threatening line and length he never bowled in all of 2021 including IPL.
- fielders throwing balls to boundary after fielding
- slow running towards ball and not moving forward to attempt to catch balls at boundaries
- nabi being the best bowling in his 1 over and not bowling anymore
- Karim janat not bowling after being second best bowler
- all the bowlers especially Rashid khan bowling pies even Namibia and Scotland would have scored 150
- DEFENSIVE dot balls overload in game which is asking for over 13 runs an over now
- zero intent in going after target

It just doesn’t add up . If this side played vs pakistan pakistan would have got them out of 100 and got that in 8 overs . Namibia would have beaten this Afghanistan. They played that badly

Just checked the other match today, How did the Scots get so close ? If the Scots can push the Kiwis around, so can Afghanistan.

Asghar Retiring before this game, when your team is still in it seems a bit suspicious now.

Yes , if Kiwis lose to Afghans , its possible
Considering that NZ were the worst enemies few days back and if Nz loose.to afg ..kaanconspiracy theory group will go beserk . i would really like to read the comments on this forum if that happens

Afghanistan may lose this game by 70+ runs.

They still need 150 runs from 10 overs.

You are taking it wrong wayz you could have replied in. Abetter way.But anyways it's good for cricket if it is a clean game and I am wrong.

This is the first game Kohli has been acting his usual pumped up self. Maybe India finally woke up in what's most likely a meaningless game. So not sure why some of the posts here have been so ridiculous.

There's a 99% chance, India have crashed out.

But some Pakistanis are still worried.

Is it the fear of a habitual world cup thrashing that's causing it :wy

Has India ever beaten Pakistan by 180 Runs or 10 wickets at an ICC tournament? Come back with your biggest win and it wouldn't be half as good.

Now you're just talking nonsense and without context.

India is all but crashed out of the tournament. And when Pakistanis still come up with crazy conspiracy theories, can't help but take the mickey out of those theories, sorry!

All Indians gave full credit to the Pakistani team after the loss and not one single Indian engaged in some stupid conspiracy theory. Can't say the same thing about Pak fans I'm afraid.
