India (249/9) defeat New Zealand (205) by 45 runs to fix a clash with Australia in the first semi-final of ICC Champions Trophy 2025

Anyway credit to outstanding fielding from NZ. This is what seperates NZ and Australia. THey field brilliantly.

Australia and New Zealand are usually 60% strategy and 40% skillset. That's truly out kryptonite.

We can deal with teams who play flamboyant aggresive cricket but we just cannot get past the ones that do meticulous planning and have answers to our plan A (we usually do not have plan B).

India has to bring their A game to nullify it. But sadly they succumb to it.

There's no room consolidation in modern game. They should have batted at 140 SR from ball 1 even after early wickets

That is Varun's best fielding effort lol He is one of the worst fielder in the world. Just remember he was working as an architect. Suddenly practiced with tennis ball and became a cricketer. He is not formally trained cricketer. His other areas are pathetic

first in test series vs india then century vs pakistan in CT and now also playing comfortably
 
This is going to be a boring chase. Young, KW, Mitchell, Latham are all very methodical batters who will just do enough to get the job done.
 
Jadeja, Iyer, Kohli, Gill. That's an excellent set of fielders all on the off side.

Spinners can be confident that they are not going to bashing any good balls or unpredictable shots like Maxwell,head . Almost test kind of stuff
 
Playing four spinners is suicidal for the growth of the game.

Pacers win causuals hearts
Need 4 pacers and only one or 2 spinners
 
I don't understand why spinners don't get same respect as fast bowlers do.
I mean, i understand genuinely fast bowlers are hard to get, but that doesn't mean spinners are less of a bowler....


It is a dimension of the bowling art and should be celebrated at the same level, it is a human fallacy rather than a fault with the dimension.

A nice slow wicket is beautiful to watch when the batsmen are dancing to the tune of spinners .
