What's new

India (92/4) beats Australia (90/5) by 6 wickets - Series level at 1-1

Harshal is one more Munaf Patel like trundler.

Hopefully he will not be part of the playing XI once full strength attack comes together.
Lol at comparison with Munaf. This only means you have not seen Munaf bowling.

He is short of confidence. Did not look comfortable in Asia cup too. He needs time to come good.
Lol at the excuses. He isn't good enough at this level and hence is found wanting.

Zampa is so much better than that overrated Chahal.

Pandya doing it again the MSD way, gets his eye in and then gets the job done. Best thing since MSD for India in LOIs in finisher role.

You always jinx Pant and Pandya. It will be helpful if you shut that thing for sometime. :inti

Easy win for India. Pant and Pandya's lucky charm helping the team to win it all the way. :inti

Surely it should settle the debate who deserves to get a place in the playing XI between Karthik and Pant. :inti

India won by 6 wickets (with 4 balls remaining)

AUS
(8/8 ov) 90/5

INDIA
(7.2/8 ov, T:91) 92/4

Show some confidence on Karthik and he starts playing like that. Sending inferior batsmen like Axar and Pant above him is an insult to Karthik. :inti

They did nothing in this match. Rohit, Axar and a cute cameo from Karthik won it for India. Are you bitter that TM didn't send Pant to finish it? He would have bottled it here. :inti

not a comprehensive victory....I expected them to finish it off in 5 overs but they dragged it on to the final over. disappointing !!

Kohli has relaxed a bit after scoring a century against Afghanistan of all teams. :inti

No player playing for the country should be relaxed while playing a match and certainly not when on the ground. They are not doing justice to their responsibility and roles.

Mohanty was a decent swing bowler. About Harshal, he is a hyped IPL bowler.

Yes he was but I am talking about our overall bowling attack which was pathetic. One or two good performances didn't mean anything. Mohanty was at its best in Sahara Cup in 1998/99 I think. There were other bowlers like Paras Mhambrey, Ankola, Dodda Ganesh too. These guys were mediocre. :inti

Rohit Sharma went past Martin Guptill to top the chart of batters with most sixes in T20Is during his knock against Australia in Nagpur in the eight-over match.

Rohit Sharma, the leading run-scorer in T20Is, went past Martin Guptill's tally of sixes to go to the top of the six hitters' chart in T20Is. The India captain, who smashed two sixes in the first over from Josh Hazlewood in a run chase of 91 in eight overs, now has 174 sixes to his name in this format.

Guptill with 172 sixes and Chris Gayle with 124 sixes follow him. Virat Kohli is the only other Indian batter with more than 100 T20I sixes, currently sitting on 104 sixes in the format.

Rohit, who has played 138 matches, had gone past Guptill's run tally in the format last month, later going on to become the only men's player with more than 3500 T20I runs.

Suzie Bates is the only other batter with more than 3500 runs in the format at the international level. Deandra Dottin and Sophie Devine are the only women cricketers with more than 100 recorded T20I sixes.

Rohit's knock at the top helped India get off to a great start against Australia in Nagpur in a shortened match. Australia made 90/5 batting first in the eight-over game, but Rohit and KL Rahul put on a 39-run opening stand in 2.5 overs to get India off to a great start.
