Unfortunately we don't have any other young replacements. Sanju Samson isn’t consistent enough and I believe he has knee problems which is affecting his keeping. Ishan Kishan appears to be equally hackish with less array of shots. Bharat is more of a test player.

do you rate pant in tests? I had the exact same opinion about him prior to the test series vs australia. I got to give pant credit. he can bat in tests no doubt. I totally agree that he is a hack in odi and t20 though. should be playing at 6 or 7 in odi/t20. I am sure there are other keepers in the domestic circuit that don't get chances due to Internal politics.

And another thing I heard here often is 'hack'. I don't think hacks play in internationals. You have to play literally 100's of matches to made it to internationals. You can hack a 4 or 6 not 50's and 100's. One can call them as technically poor to play in diff situations or not an international standard batsman but not a hack.
Most of pant's dismissals are due to his temparament not his skills. He doesn't use his brain very often some one should teach him that. If Still he fails then we can search for a replacement.

No doubt Pant is a phenomenal test cricketer but he is an absolute hack and doesn't fit in ODI/T20 role.

India should start searching for another wicket-keeper.Till then, we can have Dhoni in ODIs/T20 who has anyways done so much for Indian cricket. He showed how impactful he was in WC 2019 even though he was past his prime.

That's my experience of watching cricket for so many years. If you think his test average will stay at 49 something throughout his career then you are delusional. As I said just wait and watch. Its one thing getting to an average of 50 and its another thing to maintain it consistently throughout his career.

Really? I said currently he is not fit enough to tie the shoe laces of Suresh Raina. Suresh Raina has played so many match winning innings in LOI's for India. Together with Dhoni and Yuvi he had helped India chased so many targets.

Now when a fan comes and tries to say things like 'Pant has to play 100 selfish innings to match Dhoni' you think its logical lol? At least I am saying it on the basis of real scenarios not some made up junk like 100 selfish innings. Statements like these really tell how low people can go to hate a player like Dhoni.

Everytime someone criticises Pant his die hard lovers bring Dhoni into discussion. He is not in the team and I don't think he will be in the team again. So where is the logic in bringing his name here?

Obviously there is no other option in tests so he will continue to play there but his fans think he will maintain his average of 50 in tests which is quite delusional. In my opinion if he plays 50 tests he will end his career with an average of 25-31.
