What's new

India are the best team in the world in every format of the game since 2015

If Pakistan winning 11 T20 series in a row can not make posters agree that Pakistan are the number 1 T20 side in the world then you're no longer stating an opinion, it's an agenda against that team aka that Mamoon guy and his agenda.

India is ahead in tests, although they literally lost 2-1 to SA, lost 4-1 to England and beat an Australian B side. ODIs England is the best.

Please pray that BCCI does PCB a favour and arranges a T20 series with Pakistan. You will get your answer.

Pakistan is undisputed t20 champ. No one is denying that. Just that t20 is t20. No team takes t20 format that seriously unless its a t20 WC. Test is the real cricket ,followed by ODI. (Not taking any credit away from Pakistani performance in t20). Since you mentioned India beating an Australia B team , it is also well known that India played its B team (without Bumrah) against England in the first two tests, and also played its B team (without Bumrah and Shami) against England in ODI series, which they lost 1-2.

We are not. India is a level above us in T20s as well - in fact, the gap between India and us in T20s is as big as the gap between us and them in ODIs and Tests.

Tests:

India is the undisputed number one.

ODIs and T20s:

India and England are probably on the same level. India are better on spinning tracks (Kuldeep and Chahal) and England are better on flatter services (explosive hitters + batting depth).

A Pakistan vs India T20 series would be a repeat of the Asia Cup, but sure, you are free to believe that Pakistan is the best T20I team. I also want to believe in unicorns but can't.

Not just India, but England will also beat Pakistan. A one-off T20 3 years ago means nothing. At best, if it is any consolation, Pakistan is a distant third best T20 team at the moment.

I am basing my opinion on real numbers, what are you basing your opinion on?

England is the best ODI team.

Pakistan is the best t20I team.

I find the arbitrary 2015 number to be hilarious.

Since 2015 means, India have been the no. 1 team across all formats for 4 years now. However, at times lack of common understanding does really helps putting into delusion that everything is hilarious out there.

If we consider this whole decade, SA is the best test team followed by India while India remains the best ODI team of the decade.

Despite the obvious flaws and issues, we have been the no. 1 team in the world across all formats of the game.

In tests, this team has won everything came in front in Asia while stayed competitive outside Asia as well by winning series in Australia, West Indies and winning matches in SA and England as well.

In ODIs, India haven't lost anything again anywhere in Asia, South Africa and Australia and were competitive in England, also dominated CT except one off-day.

In T20s, although stats don't reflect but we all know inside and it is only a matter of time, India will eventually be ranked no. 1 side but I believe they are already the best T20 team in the world currently.

Discuss! Your views are welcomed.

I dont think the ind management takes t20 seriously, they primarily use the t20 games to blood youngsters and rest the best guys who play all formats more often than not so yes its not surprising that we are not no 1 in t20..... odis there is not much between us and eng

I am basing my opinion on real numbers, what are you basing your opinion on?

I am basing my opinion on the following:

If we compare the two teams, in terms of personnel, India beats Pakistan to a pulp. They are vastly superior in both batting and fielding.

Only a few months back, India thrashed Pakistan without Kohli, and we had similar discussions before that tournament. Furthermore, these Pakistani players have lost 3 out of 4 matches that they have played against India.

Pakistan have only beaten India once in T20Is, and they have been playing each other since 2007.

Pakistan is not a match for India in any format. The gulf in quality between the two sides is massive. Sure, they can catch India on a bad day and win a one-off game like the Champions Trophy Final, but winning a series? No chance.

India will beat Pakistan 8 out of 10 times LOIs, and probably 10 out of 10 times in Tests.

You are basing your opinion on the assumption that since we have beaten other teams in T20s, we will also beat India.

I respect your opinion and you are free to believe what you want, but don’t bet on it because you might be forced into quitting the forum again.

Ind lost in SA, lost in Eng despite the fight. Ashes whitewash was with Smith and Warner. Anyway, it's all speculation. The Eng team that beat SL looks a gun team. At this point, my opinion is it's a stalemate in tests, Eng is better in ODIs, Ind is better in T20s.

Wasn't Eng shot down for 57 by NZ at around this time last year?

Note T20I Ranking started in 2011

So Its Fair That
India Is Best team across all formats since 2015
Second Best to South Africa and Australia in Tests and ODIs respectively in Last decade and
Best in T20Is in Last decade

The gun team you mentioned is in tatters at 60/8. India is by far the best team in the world unless England win this match from here n prove that they are in a stalemate with india.

Even the England fans will disagree if we call England the no. 1 test team in the world. Yes, they did win in Sri Lanka which was a good win but that was absolutely rubbish SL team(no disrespect) but just two world class names- Matthews and Herath(only one test).

India winning in Australia even without Smithy and Warner is still much better performance.

And England are struggling currently against WI in first test, might lose this test match.

Clearly, the test debate should be put into dust now.

Lol just when I said they are no.1, they crash to 77 against WI. I believe it's a one off.

I agree this is a one off and they will eventually come back strong in next test but I think this performance highlights the weakness out there. They have got new faces after the NZ tour like Butter, Curran,Leach and Burns and we have to wait for their performance for a bit longer perhaps to conclude.

in t20s we would wipe India out ...they are scared to play Pakistan anyway , we are the best T20 around period.

When was the last time Pak won against India in a t20?

On the contary if we have to go by past who won the last odi series between the 2 country .?

On topic Pakistan last played india in world t20 in 2016 which means three year ago alot have change since then .pakistan 9 to 10 new player in the current squad compare to 2016 .add to that we are number 1 from last 1 year in that format

Yes they are really scared of playing us. After the Asia Cup humiliation, they will never dare to play Pakistan again.

Another day, another quality team in their own backyard and another defeat.

Time and time this Indian team has proved that whoever comes in front of them will be given a hammering.

The best team and the team to beat across all formats of the game, although we are scared to play against Pakistan.

So, although I am slightly late to this, but here is the recent results for India in ODI formats: -

ODI series win in SA
ODI series win in Australia
ODI series win in NZ
ODI series win in Sri Lanka
ODI series win in West Indies

At home, the last time India lost was against ABDV's SA(2015).

So, who is the no. 1 ODI team now? :vk

Add Asia cup. Beat Pak, BD twice.

Time for India to continue the undefeated streak in the ongoing WC and beat the likes of WI, SL, BD and England and end up at the top position.

A weakened Indian batting is a worry but they have time to get things back on line.

New Delhi: The Congress party has raked up an unnecessary controversy over Indian cricket team’s orange jersey that it would wear during its upcoming World Cup clash with England.

The men in blue will be sporting an orange-coloured jersey for their match with hosts England that also has a blue jersey. The Indian team opted for the orange jersey as ICC's ruling prevents two teams from wearing the same coloured jersey in a televised tournament.

India that has won three of its five games will lock horns with England at Edgbaston on June 30.

The Congress party, however, gave a political angle to the move and raised objection over the orange-coloured jersey. The grand old party said that the Modi government was trying saffronise the country.

Speaking to news agency ANI, Maharashtra Congress MLA MA Khan said, “Yeh sarkaar har cheez ko alag nazar se dekhne aur dikhane ki koshish poore desh mein pichle panch saal se kar rahi hai. Yeh sarkaar bhagwakaran ki taraf iss desh ko le jane ka kaam kar rahi hai. (This government has been trying to see and show everything from different angle and colour for the past five years. This government is trying to lead this country towards saffronisation).”

The Samajwadi Party also echoed similar views and said that the BJP, which has saffron-coloured flag, was trying to paint the country saffron. “Modi wants to paint the country saffron,” SP leader Abu Azmi said.

The International Committee of Cricket (ICC), however, said that it gave the colour option to the BCCI and the latter chose what they felt went best with the colour combination. The ICC further said the design for the new jersey has been taken from India’s old T20 jersey which had orange in it.

"The whole idea is to be different as England also wears a same shade of blue as India. The design is taken from India’s old T20 jersey which had orange in it," the ICC said.

Not surprised if this is a sly move by some Modi crony.

As usual - mountains out of molehills. How does the opposition believe that they will gain any credibility with stupid statements like this?

India has now overtaken Australia and West Indies in terms of most consecutive test series wins at home - 11

Why do you mention only smith and warner missing?
what about India's walking wickets that played?
Shaw and Mayank should have played the first two test matches. Shaw got injured.

Shaw has incredible talent. Now they will say oh he is a newcomer. No guarantee. Bumrah was also a newcomer and guess what happened after? best bowler across all formats. Don't care about rankings. Sheer ability wise he is the best by far.

Mayank is a beast and imagine if he played the first two test matches for india vs australia.

also india are yet to lose a test match under kohli when they have won the toss.
