What's new

India beat New Zealand by 190 runs in the 5th ODI, win series 3-2

Is it just me or is everyone just done with these JAMODIS. So pointless. Mind boggling why they are still a thing.

The only regret I have is wasting so many hours of my teenage years wasted watching these pointless bilateral one day matches.

Yep.

Should have a conference system with the top teams playing in a Finals series each year.

At least it was interesting when we batted first...

Wickets or runs.

We've gotten neither so far...

Strange to see India choosing not to chase in a decider (especially with the Kohli factor), they're clearly down on confidence.

This series is for individuals to secure their spots. Rahane Rohit Pandya Kedar Manish Axar n Dhawal everyone has been playing for themselves. No urgency or game awareness, it's ok just a normal bilateral series, hopefully junk is removed post this match.

Rahane is such a misfit in ODIs. He can only bat at the top of the order but doesn't have big shots, can't rotate the strike and, worst of all, can't score big hundreds. India have persisted way too long with him on the basis of his Test exploits.

Had India chosen to bat second, I am sure Kohli would have won them single handedly irrespective of the target. It's the decider and this is perfectly the kind of match where he thrives in while chasing. With him batting first, I am not too sure. On the positive side, I expect Rohit to score a big hundred.

Outrageous shot.

Rohit really is a better stroke player than Kohli.

Tough chance, but should have been taken.

India looking set for a good score.

On a side note, excellent gesture from the BCCI, players and Nike to honor mothers by taking mothers names on their kits.

Honestly used to get so pumped up for ODIs when I was growing up especially in teenage years. Now I just can't get interested for these JAMODIs like I used to be in the past but have started loving tests more. The only bilateral series I may get interested is if India ever play with Pakistan. I don't know if it's something to do with your age. I'm afraid I'll end up like Junaids in ten years time.

Another catch dropped... both big player and both should have been taken.

Finally, about time we held onto a catch.

Kohli and Dhoni left.

That's one of the worst 70s I've ever seen. It looks good since he got the runs quickly, but it was so damn irresponsible. He kept playing stupid shots.

Also, the Rahane ODI experiment has to be done. It was worth giving this extended run to him in a time when we don't have WCs/Champions trophy, but he's not suited to ODIs at all. Time to bring in Lokesh Rahul.

Rohit got injured and started hitting out as he couldn't run.

Geez get it together...

No chance he would have made his ground.

Painful watching Dhoni bat, he might be worse than Taylor atm.

Why are the names on the shirt of Indian batsmen not their actual names?

Kohli is wearing a 'Saroj' shirt...

And Dhonis shirt says Devaki on it.

Getting back on track now

Thats because the Kiwi spinners are a bit ordinary. Them and Williamson allowed Dhoni to get off the hook. A slightly better captain would have kept things really tight for Dhoni.

Now watch Dhoni strggule against Southee.

Won't mind if Kohli gets out.

Want to really see our youngsters take the mantle and help us win.

We have been hiding behind Kohli a lot and now that Kohli has scored enough to maintain his average, its won't be bad to see him get out.

Pandey, Jadhav, Pandya will have lots to do and I want to see that.

Haven't bothered to switch on the TV now.

Same old same old.

You're right. We ought to rest Kohli when England are in town for the ODIs

Watching Kohli, Dhoni bat is really getting annoying. Should have been watching Panday and Jhadav here.

If any team will give India a scare in ODIs it will be England. They have been doing well on all kinds of surfaces.

Though it could be on the back off a hammering in test series so they may be mentally shot

I think they go back home for Christmas before they come back for the ODIs. So even if they lose, they'll get a chance to regroup at home.

I would rather see India lose with this team, than win. Especially if we dont bring some much required changes.

Also, any team can beat India now, not just England.

Lmao Gavaskar has been cheeky all day but might get into trouble for this.:yk

Kohli pierces the gap in the covers with great precision hitting Sodhi for a boundary. Gavaskar says on air "Now that's a real surgical strike!".

How much it dews at Vizag? Today Indian attack is completely dependent on dry ball.

India last played a T20 vs Sri Lanka at Vizag just before the Asia Cup in night when Ash and Jaddu were running riot on a similar dry pitch. There certainly was no dew then.

Not sure how much dew is there this time of the year though.

Oh bhai...stop this over-rating.

This current Indian side is nothing special.

Maybe 6 months to 1 year down the line, Indian ODI team will be a monster. Not now for sure.

It's East coast, very much similar to Chittagong - the day it dews, it pours down. I think, IND will need 260+ here.

By every day, I am more convinced that every team should have a leggi - they are the game changer between 11-40 overs. We need to find one or work Shabbir 3 times in nets.

Both team's middle orders are horrible.

Series will be decided on which one sucks less :))

MS is finished as batsman - let's see if he can defend this target today. If he can win squeezing the chasing side, there is no point carrying him. There are 3/4 young WK in India who are probably better with gloves & can bat as well.

Our batting has been pathetic but If we get 270,our bowling is impressive enough to snatch a surprise win ,let
's see

To be honest, there is an issue of experience, but of the 4 Asian teams, I do believe that BD batting is best in ODI. It has comedown to spoon feeding level from Virat for India.

Dhoni should play at 7 where he plays role of slogger, not a finisher otherwise retire.

Dhoni asked selectors for youngsters after 2007 WC, time to think about himself and give youngster a chance.

Jadav's stats are mind blowing, but he is a statistical anomaly. Also, looks like our Mashrafee style 31...........
