What's new

India beat Sri Lanka by 9 wickets in 3rd T20I and win the series 2-1

I am of Bengali blood. Chalo Bangladesh!

India's so great. go Kashmir you get feeling of being in Pak. Go Bengal, you get feeling of Bangladesh. Go Sikkim, Nepalese feeling. Go Arunachal Pradesh, Chinese feeling. Go tamil nadu, SL feeling. India is just so damn rich in culture..

No one is contesting that. All of us [India/Pak/Bangla] belong to one broader culture despite our regional differences. But this is a cricket thread and back on topic Lanka should play us.

They are coming for Aisa cup.. you can show them your talent there.

This is so boring, just go bang bang and finish it in 8 overs man, what do you have to be so boring

Dang!!! That was a massive hit from Rohit.
..And we used to call him No-hit...You never know whats there for you in future...

Shikar still looks clueless against half decent offies (Imho, Sena with his current action is below half decent)

street cricketer your best asian bowler takes a wicket.. :))

Any news of Kulasekara. he is a good bowler too

That I guess Thivagar might be able to tell :)

I don't believe these "injuries". Dilshan for example supposedly have "fractured" his finger. If you have ever fractured your finger, you'd know that it takes at least 4 weeks to recover. It is highly unlikely that someone can recover within 2 weeks of the injury or be "injured" firs the 1st T20 and then be "fit" for 2nd T20, 2 days later. Mahela used to do this stuff prior to touring Zimbabwe, Bangla and etc. Doubt Kulasekara, Herath and few others are actually injured. They are just chilling.

Chandimal knows that he won't be picked for the T20. he is still averaging only 14 in T20s.

Control Streety, you might upset amir fan gurlss :amir

Rajitha, Shanaka and even Perrera were great on a seaming pitch. But they were all taken to the cleaners on a flat track. But Chameera was excellent even on a belter of a track at Ranchi. He is express pace and was great in the tests in NZ too. I think he can very well become the best bowler in Asia, and one of the top bowlers in the world.

As I type that, he cleans up Rohit.

if you can bowl 146 to 149 with that kind of body, this guy can hit 155 if he puts some meat on his body.

It was the Indian batsmen than the bowlers. I think Rajitha is a good talent, he picked up 5 wickets vs India on a warm up match back in August. I think he dismissed Kohli in both innings.

Shanaka looks the real deal for me. Bowls decent medium pace, can hit long ball and has good batting technique.

Shanaka might be Raina like bowler, bowling medium pace. He is a good hitter. He has 2 T20 centuries and an avg of 37 with SR of 175 before. He should have been picked by an IPL team, he was only going for 10Lakhs :facepalm

Chameera should hide the bowl while running up i think gives too much away.

Yeah he has a Morne Morkel aspect to him. An attack of Chameera, Prasad and Rajitha will be great for SL in tests. I don't want to overhype but SL probably has the best pace attack already in Asia. You have a great pace attack to build with. If you can find some good batsmen, SL will be formidable once again.

Malinga, Prasad and Chameera will be a good bowling combo. Batting is a worry. Too many hacks.

Agreed. I see more ROI in him than picking Thisara (who looks a finished article) at this stage of his career by MSD's Pune team.

Srilankans have some of the wierdest names you have to agree..Awfully Long as well...Imagine a joint family of 30-40 people...How'd you remember the names..

Was about to say Gunaratne atleast turning a bit, just saw he isnt a spinner.

I thought it was a buddhist name.

It is a tamil girl's name. My sister's friend is also named Rajitha and one of my uni tutorial teacher's name was also that.. Lot of the Sinhalese names like Kulasekara and Kulatunga are ancient Tamil kings' names. Kulantungan Cholan(Chola kingdom) and Kulasekaran Pandyan (Pandyan empire) are good example. Name like Akilan in Sinhalese becomes Akila, same goes to Anandan to Ananda and etc.

Well this is too boring and yet can't change the channel. The fan in me doesn't let me.

It is normal when you write it. Obviously you haven't heard any Greek, African or PNG names.

Drop this malnourished Rehane from the T20 side. I thought I was going to see Saurabh Tiwary in the Indian colours few years ago, now he looks like Inzimam.

Saurabh tiwary is/was/will always be a hack. Has got no technique to survive intnl cricket or half decent bowling. Even in IPL he struggled to live up to his supposedly big hitting abilities.

Yeah I know Kulasekaran (my grandfather's name) and Kulotungan are tamil names, but have never come across Rajitha (atleast in TN). That's why I was surprised. Have come across the name Ranjitha in TN though:misbah

What happened to Suraj Randiv? I remember him being brilliant in one of the games against us years ago. Looked a good bowler then

Maybe it was popular in Trichy around that time. My cousin's cousin who is an Indian Tamil is also named that. Usually it is spelled Rajeetha.

Looked cool though when he had the Rastafarian look.
