What a ghanta pitch but NO indian fans in denial, this is happening in day 2 can you believe it.

BCCI are the best and no-one question them, just everyone else shut up and sit down.

Are there any ICC rules that stay ball shouldn't swing, seam, turn on day one?

Old style turner for sure.

But I love watching games in these pitches (I love all bowling friendly pitches).

Its good that you accepted that this is a real turner a clear response from India after losing the first one. This is a definition of a doctored pitch which has become a real theme in India since Dhoni openly start calling for more turning pitches.

Regarding watching yes ofcourse I love watching games that finish in 3 days the action happen quicker and the quicker the better for me but its not what we call test cricket in purest format. How can you be allowed to make a pitch where the pitch explodes the very first time spinner bowls on it on the first day?

I felt the same. Ben and Pope were playing it well and treating the ball on merit rather than imagining that it's a rank turner. If India gets to 200-250 again then it will simply show that problem with pitch was more in batsmen's mind. Sure, it is a turning track, but not a rank turner.

Including Root they had this pre-determined mindset. May be after seeing Indian batsmen like KOhli getting out? I am not sure. Not for the first time KOhli has gotten out this way. Hope they didn't use that as an indication. Because Pant literally danced down the wicket every other ball to hit wherever he waned. Only the timid players perished.

That is the talk of a sore loser lol. I don't dance well. Let us blame the stage.

I am losing nothing but this pitch is a clear response to the lose India incurred in the first match. The rest like manjerekar put it is beating the actual point.

You will get some unplayable ball on turners, but this pitch was hardly a rank turner where each ball was turning square. A big partnership between Rohit/Rahane, Pant, and then 2 English batsmen played comfortably. If you can not play on such tracks then simply you lack specific skill. It is not a problem with pitch. It's a problem with players.

The only problem with pitch is when they are unsafe with an uneven bounce from day 1. Cricket is no longer played mainly in Eng. The idea that any pitch which turns from day one is a poor pitch is simply still living in the old era.

One of the things that you can use to your advantage here is the slowness of the surface. You will still have enough time to adjust. Frontfoot players like Kohli are always going to be giving chances. Someone who is prepared use the depth of the crease will have a better chance. Rahane typically a very poor player against spin bowling, used the crease to good effect.

Everyone knows this is a real turner.

Turner does not necessarily mean doctored pitch.

I can see why there is a debate reg doctored as 2 sides are looking at it in different ways.

For me, the effort was not to give a rank turner but just to eliminate toss.

This was the consequence.

Thats my view.

As for Dhoni comment, I have addressed that many many times mate.

We are running around in circles here lol.

Aw you are getting salty because India has the upper hand? Yes pitch was bad only for people other than Rohit sharma/Rahane/Pant/Foakes. They somehow mixed DNA of these players too on the pitch lol

Question:

When the England’s batting innings started, who were the Indian commentators?

One of them put a wager that Ashwin may be opening the bowling from one end. And he was dead right.

I know it wasn’t Gawaskar as he came in later I think.

This guy was also pretty good with the technical analysts of batsman’s playing stance etc.

Some peoples can't digest India success .they are sore loser

Some people?

While there are entire govt bodies and cricket boards who can’t stand seeing another cricket board of another country trying to flourish.

Examples of such a deeply rooted hate and heinously disgusting display of politics indulging into sport’s are hard to see anywhere else in the world.

This kind of wicket is not a good wicket to play cricket on and its not that the Indian camp doesnt know it. They know it better than me but they did it because they are 1-0 down and did not want to take a chance this time. You cant have a wicket that turns from day 1 anywhere in the world with under preparing it.

Regarding Dhoni he was a big believer of these wickets and did not see anything wrong in maximizing the home advantage whatever way he could. I remember his interview where he said nothing wrong in seeing ball turn and hitting the batsmen on the shoulder. This is all okay but again to do all of this you have to doctor the pitch and under prepare the pitch deliberately.

Why would I get salty? No team that I support is playing and I actually dont mind watching 3 day matches I like quicker action. However what I have a real issue is with Indian fans like you who are denying and think other fans are fools and cant see the pitch for what its.. Which is a under prepared pitch that is exploding from first day we also have eyes.

Regarding your use less defense on any pitch some players will play better than others or have a better day etc doesnt mean we should ignore the explosion of dusts from first day lol

Whats your take on green pitches? Why should grass be left deliberately on the pitch?
So only Aus prepares good pitches?

Lol, so some people are still sooking over the pitch. Get over it. Its of no use.

When India was all out for 36 runs, it was all fun :) When England is all out for 134 it doesn't go well with you. We get it. No. IT is ridiculous to say some will always play on under-prepared pitches. Everyone will struggle to some extent. You have no excuse not to do well if others can do well. Chennai always had a bit more bounce. Always helped spinners. Besides these days spin pitches are not exactly the friendliest pitches for India. In the last 10 years Umesh took 82 wickets at an average of 22 and strike rate of 43. Shami got 51 wickets at an average of 18.50 and a mind blowing strike rate of 37. This Indian team is a poor team against spin. If you can't trouble them on a turning track don't blame the pitch.

Green pitch by itself is not doctoring if its a traditional green pitch.. However there have also been instances where they doctored a green pitch against India or other subcontinental side which would mean the same thing which is need for additional home advantage.

Australian pitches dont change according to team and are traditional, England also where rarely serve a total green pitch like the one at lords against India. In England lot depends on over head conditions anyway.

Its nothing about the players and who is performing and who is not.. There maybe a player who can average 100 on mud doesnt mean we should start preparing muds. This is the most stupid logic.

So now spnning wickets are mud, one of the worst analogy of all time. The previous poster is right, this is hypocrisy, where a green wicket where teams are all out for less than 100 is not bad but spinning wickets are

India have been winning on sporting wickets at home for last 5+ years, where over 60% wickets are taken by pacers. A couple of spinning wickets in a place like chennai, where pitches spin by nature, doesn't change anything

It might or might not be within the rules but have you seen how the ball just landed in what looked like a sandpit, nothing wrong with having a spinning track but a rank turner is just the pits. England should be flattered that this is what India have resorted to.

Nobody is under valuing Indian wins etc certainly not me. But the denial of Indian fans here that this pitch started turning from day one and explosion were seen on the pitch from day one makes me think maybe it was due to these turners only.
