India-Pakistan counterclaims of attack by Indian Army access line of control

Pakistan says nine killed in Indian shelling of bus in Kashmir

Indian shelling across the frontier into Pakistani-controlled Kashmir hit a bus, killing at least nine people and wounding 11, Pakistani officials said, as tensions between the nuclear-armed neighbors simmers.

Indian troops attacked the bus "with small and big arms" in the town of Lawat, senior police official Jamil Mir told Reuters.

Pakistan's military media wing, ISPR, said in a statement that seven people were killed and seven wounded.

Lawat is 100 km (60 miles) northeast of Muzaffarabad, the capital of Pakistani-held Kashmir, in the upper belt of Neelum Valley that straddles the de facto border splitting Kashmir between India and Pakistan.

Indian officials did not comment on the deaths but a military spokesman said the Pakistani Army initiated "indiscriminate" firing on Wednesday morning on Indian Army posts in Bhimber Gali, Krishna Ghati and Nawshera sectors.

Relations between Pakistan and India have been strained for several months, while cross-frontier shelling has intensified leading to deaths of civilians and soldiers stationed along the disputed frontier.

Kashmir lies at the heart of the tension. The countries have fought two of their three wars over the region since partition and independence from Britain in 1947.

Both want to be seen as aggressors and victims when it's suits their agenda whilst the Kashmiris continue to suffer on both sides of the LOC. I am waiting to see how our new army chief whoever it is will deal with this.

RIP to the shaheeds of the Indian army-have full faith in them.

Do you understand that your war monger PM is the reason innocent people are dying on both sides of the border? Even civilians are being killed due to cross border firing and if you take your "Desh Bhakti" glasses off for a second and think about innocent people being killed on BOTH sides of the border and ask yourself why LOC firing issue has started after 5 years? It's all to do with local uprising in Kashmir and Modi's strategy to please his Hindu fundamentalist buddies.
If you watch Pakistani media, people talk about "why is it all this happening and how to reduce the tensions" and then you watch the Indian media and most people talk about "how to teach Pakistan a lesson" and anyone slightly opposing this is labeled as Pakistani or their patriotism is questioned?

I loathe Modi.

People who blame modi for present situation should check number of cease fire violations happened before his term.

No, Pakistani attempts at forcing it's presence on Indian Kashmir are. We know who the aggressor is at LOC, and under Modi's leadership, India's response has gotten stronger.

Now all these developments are unfortunate ofcourse, but you need to understand why things are this way. The day Pakistan's foreign policy gives up the dream of breaking India, things will get better.

Exactly. Every Pakistani visit to the UN assembly has typically been preceded by increased firing, begging for international media's attention on the topic. But ofcourse, now they have Modi and Hindus to blame for everything.

Achieving Pakistan was once also considered as being a dream I have heard from my elders who as students chanted "todh ke rehenge Hindustan.....", the rest is history. Pak is not begging anything but reminding the UN of it's obligations. We are dreamers and will get what we want one day, Insha Allah.
