Schedule announced for India’s white-ball tour of Bangladesh

Bangladesh will welcome India for three ODIs and three T20Is, beginning on 17 August.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced the fixtures for India’s upcoming tour of Bangladesh in August 2025, featuring three ODIs and three T20Is.

The Indian team are set to arrive in Dhaka on 13 August ahead of the ODI series that begins on 17 August at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. The third and final ODI will be played in Chattogram, which will also host the first game of the three-match T20I series on 26 August.

The action will head back to Mirpur for the second and third T20Is.

The T20I series will be the first time Bangladesh will host India in a bilateral series at home.

The most recent T20I series between the two teams took place in 2024, when Bangladesh toured India and the hosts secured a comfortable 3-0 victory. In their last ODI series clash in 2022, India visited Bangladesh and suffered a 2-1 defeat.

Schedule for India's tour of Bangladesh

ODI Series:

1st ODI - 17 August, Mirpur
2nd ODI - 20 August, Mirpur
3rd ODI - 23 August, Chattogram

T20I Series:

1st T20I - 26 August, Chattogram
2nd T20I - 29 August, Mirpur
3rd T20I - 31 August , Mirpur

BCB Chief Executive Officer Nizam Uddin Chowdhury expressed his excitement about the upcoming series, stating: “This series promises to be one of the most exciting and most anticipated events in our home calendar.

"India have set the benchmark in international cricket across all formats and the cricket-loving millions in both countries are sure to enjoy this contest.

“Bangladesh and India have played some very competitive matches in recent years, and I am confident that this will be another hard-fought and entertaining series.”

Not sure why we play these guys so often. Nothing to be gained by playing Bangladesh .

High time India normalises cricket relations with Pakistan and plays bilateral cricket with them instead.

I think BD can win the ODI series 2-1 yet again. :inti

But, TEAM IPL may take the T20 series. T20 is BD's weakest format.

I think this will be the last tour of ind in bng for a long time. I see bng with its pathetic mentality on show once again by keeping mirpur for majority odis and t20s to win the series on those paddy fields. They just dont even think to play against major teams in good pitches and learn.

I think they can utilize to introduce guys like PRiyansh, Dhruv Rathee and other youngsters.

Anyway, these will be determined by those who are in charge.

It would be great if India resume cricket with Pakistan and stop hijacking world cricket.

This is not a criticism but this is why BD cannot produce fast bowlers who are badmaash like Shoaib Akhtar. Even India managed Bhumrah.

Despite chest thumping of Indian posters claiming that they will boycott BCB and claiming they won't offer IPL contracts to Bangladeshis at protest of Hindu genocide ( their words not mine) it seems India is travelling to Bangladesh with its tail between its legs.
Indians are known for being hypocrites no offence especially BCCI.

They are a funny bunch. :inti

Like I said, these decisions are made by those who are actually in charge. These chest thumpers don't have the power to influence anything.

The recent happenings in WB and for the last 70 odd years in BD with the recent events concerning ex-Pm Hasina does not augur for a convival cricketing environment.

Hope for a safe series and may series be remembered for display of cricketing skills only.
if BD do manage to nick a T20 or an ODI here and there, true test of the stadium foundations and the roof :) :dhoni

Didn't we loose both the last two odi series at their own den?
Bng will have the majority matches at paddy field mirpur for a reason. Outside those paddy fields they will be owned by everyone including usa.they are minnows for a reason. Everyone can see their odi results in ct, wc 23 , asia cup 23.

The amount of hatred Bangladeshis have for Hindus and Indians in general, will our players be safe there? I am not sure if it is a good idea to tour in such obmoxious place. There is Asia cup scheduled in September anyway, what is the point of touring Bangla around same time? Bangladesh has no shame, at one hand they say they hate India but at the same time want to earn money at the expense of Indian cricket team. However atleast BCCI should be mindful enough. Why cant they invite their master China and play?

#KyuKayaHui?
GOI can denied the permission if they want at the last minutes. :kp

Great news.

We must play our part as a responsible and friendly neighbour despite the bad elements doing bad stuff in Bangladesh recently.

My Aunty, Sheikh Haseena ji, dedicated her life to friendly relations between the two nations and i will always honour that.

Hope to see some competitive matches brother.

@sweep_shot

Will there be hostile crowd in Bangladesh or can we expect some support or friendly fan behaviour?

It is a fact that there is still a decent proposition of the Bangladeshi people who have a soft corner for Bharat but their voices remain quiet for now because of the current situations.

TBH, really surprised at the timing of the announcement of the tour. Is Amit Shah letting Indian cricket team be bait and be the pretext of action against Bangladesh. Lahore is preferrable to Dhaka right now for Indian team.
75% chance this tour gets cancelled at the last moment.

Exactly. Mirpur swampland is the worst place to play cricket. This is what Litton Das has to say on Mirpur.

Bangladesh are getting ready for a new era of T20Is with Litton Das as captain. The stylish right-hander has started a new conversation about the Mirpur pitch, which has been a problem in the country's cricketing environment for a long time.

Litton wasn't shy when he talked about how unpredictable the wicket at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka, in an exclusive chat with Utpal Shuvro, a top writer at Prothom Alo. The 30-year-old said that practicing on this pitch often might hurt a batter's skill instead of helping it.

“Before I joined the national team, I used to practice in Rangpur, Bogura, Chattogram, Rajshahi — all had pretty decent wickets,” Litton said. “Even BKSP had good surfaces. When you bat regularly on good pitches, your playing pattern aligns with that. But after entering the national team and practicing consistently here at Mirpur — I honestly feel there's a bigger chance of becoming worse rather than better.”

Litton reflected on how the Mirpur pitch affected his natural game, “Practicing here regularly, I lost some of my own signature shots. Doubt started creeping in. That doubt slowly pulled my skill level down. I couldn’t play with the same confidence.”

The core of Litton’s frustration lies in the unpredictable bounce and inconsistent behavior of the Mirpur surface. “It’s not a problem if you know the ball will swing or turn. But when you have no clue what the ball will do after pitching, it becomes incredibly difficult. Batters have less than a second to react. If it was just me struggling, fine. But everyone struggles here.”

He further elaborated that even bowlers are unsure of what the pitch will offer. “A pitch like in New Zealand — you know it'll bounce and swing, but it won’t turn or keep low. So you prepare accordingly. But here in Mirpur? The same delivery might turn sharply, or stay low, or bounce unexpectedly. Even bowlers don’t know how the ball will behave. How do you adjust to that?”

Litton also dismissed the idea that players should simply adapt to conditions like these, pointing out that foreign conditions offer at least some consistency to base preparation on. “Adaptability is a different concept. Of course we struggle abroad at first, but after 7-8 days, we manage to adjust. If we couldn’t adjust at all, no Bangladeshi batter would survive there. But here? There’s no baseline. No one knows what’s coming next.”

All BD did was oust their former government in power. Many democratic countries also do that through elections. BD is not looking to pick a fight with India or any other countries. The unstability has kind of eased out now under new caretaker government.

Indian team will fine and with proper security as it's a very profitable series for BD.

Good luck brother.
We hope to cordially work with new regime in Bangladesh for the benefit of people.

BD in ODIs against India/SL/SA/AUS/ENG/NZ/PAK

24 wins in Dhaka (Mirpur + B.bandhu + Fatullah)

24 wins everywhere else in the world

And this is supposed to be their best format.

Utterly mediocre

Interesting that this thread is generating so many replies even though the series is 4 months away. :inti

Looks like Indians are burning inside and I think I know the reason. Keep on burning.:qdkcheeky

BD have some tall fast bowlers now --> Taskin, Ebadot, Shoriful etc. Please keep up with latest news. Don't be stuck in the 90's.

I remember Bangladesh toured India last year after winning the series in Pakistan. Their fans and players were super arrogant about how India is next, how this new Bangladesh will take revenge against India etc etc

After all humbai tumbai, below was the series result:

1744841600659.png

It was another humiliation for Bangladesh in the hands of India.

Bangladesh only wins in social media. Just like how their football team was suppose to destroy India with a Leicester city player who played FA cup @Mas-LFC :misbah

I hope this tour don't happen but if it does, expecting similar scorecard & humiliation.

Bangladesh will see some money finally. BCCI si helping a corrupt board.

Bangladesh Cricket Board headquarters raided by anti-corruption authorities

Media reports from Bangladesh reported that a special three-member team from Bangladesh's ACC had swooped on the BCB headquarters in Mirpur for the raid at around 12 pm on Tuesday

The headquarters of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) in Mirpur — housed inside the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium — was raided on Tuesday by officials of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) of Bangladesh after allegations of corruption against the national governing body of cricket in Bangladesh.

Media reports from Bangladesh stated that a special three-member team from Bangladesh’s ACC had swooped on the BCB headquarters in Mirpur for the raid at around 12 pm on Tuesday.

“We came here today from the ACC’s head office to conduct an enforcement operation. The main issue of the complaint was corruption in the selection process of various cricket leagues under the Bangladesh Cricket Board. This enforcement operation is being conducted based on allegations of illegal transactions and various other irregularities,” ACC official Mahmudul Hasan was quoted as saying at a media briefing.

“We had specific complaints today, particularly regarding the 2023 team selection for the Third Division Qualifying round. In previous years, the application fee was set at Tk 5 lakh. At that time, only two or three teams would apply, and one or two would be selected from those. This time, when the fee was reduced to Tk 1 lakh, 60 teams applied. We have collected the documents and will now verify and investigate these matters,” he added.

There are also claims of corruption in the ticket sales issued during the showpiece league tournament, the Bangladesh Premier League.

“There was also a matter related to ticket sales. From the 3rd to the 10th season of the BPL, BCB had income from ticket sales. It was shown that the revenue from those eight seasons amounted to 15 crore taka. But in the 11th season, when BCB sold tickets themselves, the income was reported to be around 13 crore taka,” Mahmudul was quoted by Bangladesh media as saying.

every team lays down a pitch that gives them a home advantage. I don't understand your point/argument on what it has to do with us loosing the last two odi series at their soil? We do it, Pakistan does it, England does it, Aus does it, etc - everyone uses a pitch that gives them a home advantage.

Did you somehow forget the catch KL dropped (we would have won the match right there and then)- which would have sealed the deal for them ... but bro dropped it and Miraz batted their team to victory. Dropping that Catch was also the pitch's fault?

Am talking about bigger goal of competing against the big teams on fair pitches and improvement in tournaments.bng never competed against any big team on a fair batting pitch .it should be their goal .bng can use its home advantage in test series but not for limited formats where pitches are flat every where.so to win the tournaments, bng should compete on batting pitches.even a bng player this year complained they should play more on batting tracks to improve their hitting. Last time in a t20 series in usa , they were not able to cross 160.

Yeah that was the previous board. They were always targeting next world cup while pocketing all the money themselves. A lot of the previous board members were just buddies of other board members. Many did even have Cricketing knowledge.

There wont be much new faces. BD LOI team will converge with BD u19 from 2019 basically which was the most talented team BD have ever produced.

They should.

Current bunch failed over the past few series. Better to try new players. It is T20. T20 is the perfect format for experimentation.

so 'be productive' for a change, like your moniker says and give the 'reason' instead of your stock standard hawaii fire... :gilly

Sure, I agree with you on everything that you've stated. However my point was about us loosing 2 ODI series on their soil. Which was a response to the poster that posted "Not sure why we play these guys so often. Nothing to be gained by playing Bangladesh"

Each opposition (weaker/stronger) teaches you something - if that person's argument is: I didn't learn anything from both of the series loss - then there is a bigger issue to this. The fact that we sent a strong team both times and ended up loosing both means we lack certain skills in playing in those conditions against those players. There is going to be a time when an ICC event will be held there, if we are not good enough to win in those condition, what's the point of playing any opposition anywhere, be it Bangladesh or Australia.

India must be looking to thrash Bangladesh here. We could see low scoring thrillers and Naagin dance also.

Many people claim that Bangladesh harbors hatred toward Hindus, but this is not entirely accurate. Religious extremism exists in most countries, including India. I acknowledge that, statistically, anti-Hindu sentiment in Bangladesh may be more pronounced than in Pakistan, as the public there tends to be more emotionally charged and sometimes makes derogatory remarks about Indians. However, much of the perceived hostility against Hindus is amplified by exaggerated or misleading reports in our media. The upcoming tour is likely to be quite challenging for India, particularly for Indian fans attending matches in Bangladesh. It's evident that Bangladeshis will not treat this series as just another cricket event this time.

Yes exactly like how we did last time when they toured India with full confidence after beating Pak in Pak

Not for T20 cricket. T20 matches should be played on good pitches. :kp
Bangladesh is not blessed with big hitters to survive on flat wickets. Last year in T20 series in a 3 match series None of the Bangladeshi batsman crossed 75 runs total.
