India tour of Bangladesh (2025)

And on cue comes the roach...:cobra
when your life and country is all about nagin dances, celebrating mediocrity, jealousy, utter failure in all sports known to mankind, most talentless sportsmen, absolutely zero achievements in any facet of life, you only know to do that. So they arrive outside at every opportunity and do their nagin dances

BCCI is not patriotic.
These are just rumours. I expect the tour to go on as usual.

Not just that, you will soon see PM and other officials having tea with them soon.

The bitter fact is that a few dozen Hindus or soldiers of the nation dying at the hands of terrorists isn’t a huge deal to the GoI. Business goes on as usual. It might boil mine your blood but to the government this is hardly a blink of an eye. It’s not easy to digest this but it is what it is.

Cricket is a billions dollars worth enterprise for BCCO. They wouldn’t let go any opportunities to make money just to satisfy the ego of some people.

According to reports, India may skip the Bangladesh tour in August.

India is scheduled to play a white-ball series in the neighbouring nation.

Amid tension between India and Pakistan, a Bangladeshi official triggered the row with his provocative suggestion that Dhaka should consider occupying seven states located in India’s North East if New Delhi launches a military strike on Pakistan.

Meanwhile, as per the source: "The tour is part of the calendar but nothing is final yet. There is a bright possibility of India not touring Bangladesh for the ODIs and T20Is because of the current situation."

Good. I don't mind if tour gets canceled. :inti

Better to invite another team.

Asia cup and World cup are gonna be played in the subcontinent, so it would have been a match practice type series for India, but anyway, they can now play against another tougher opponent.

All signals are pointing to postponement of the tour.Indian government had not given any clearance yet . bcb seems to be hoping to host Indian team in some time future.

Good.

Since this tour has no Test, it is a meaningless tour. Better to postpone.

No need for junk T20s. Have had enough of T20s. :inti

As per reports, the tour has been called off for now.

Trauma from facing England. Everyone is delusional. England was just tired yesterday due to standing out for 2 days.

A fresh root and Brooks will close the gap and england will win or draw this test

It would be more sensible to play some top team instead of Bangladeshi boys. They are not good enough.

Let’s be honest, nobody wanna face Shanto right now.

Agreed. No point of playing against Bangladesh. But why is Pakistan playing back to back series with Bangladesh? A T20 Series against Afghanistan is better than playing against BAN.

:kp
yeah... playing them is of no use.. Not for India..not for Pakistan

Do you understand there is something called FTP (Future Tour Programme)? Most of these tours were planned a long time ago. :inti

Educate yourself: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ICC_Future_Tours_Programme.
I know very well and team can choose whoever they wants to play in bilateral series.

BCCI gain nothing from playing against minnow Bangladesh but BCB is totally dependent on BCCI tour. A single indian team tour brings more revenue to Bangladesh than they earn from rest of the series during entire year.

:kp

India gains nothing by playing against Bangladesh. It is a proper minnow side which is incapable of giving any sort of competition to India. This tour only meant filling BCBs coffers at the expense of Indian team. Considering they are now a rogue state, we must not extend any such courtesy to them.

I would even vote to play against Pakistan. Atleast they have a good cricket team and we have historical rivalry. Bangladesh has none of that except fake bravado and show off. It is easily the most unlikable team and fanbase around the world. Good on BCCI for closing this chapter. Minnow ko pair ke neeche rakhte hai...sar pe nehi charate hai.

This ungrateful nation forgets that it was Jagmohan Dalmiya that gave them test status.

This ungrateful nation forgets it was BCCI that fought for them to get multiple Asia cups and WT20 2014 hosted there.

This ungrateful nation forgets that when no one used to tour them, India used to visit there regularly to help them grow in cricket.

This ungrateful nation forgets that when Ganguly was head of BCCI, he gave special treatment to Bamgladesh test tour of India, including a day night test in Kolkata, inviting their PM etc.

Now it is time to cut the wings of this ungrateful nation. If BCCI is adamant, Bangladesh cricket will die in next 5 years.

Exactly. Atleast Pakistan is invited by australia, England etc regularly and vice versa. Bangladesh will face the heat once BCCI Stop touring there. :kp

Good call. India can play against better cricketing nations than Bangladesh like Afghanistan, Ireland. If Afghanistan plays Bangladesh in a 3 test series in India i guarantee they will whitewash Bangladesh

Bangladesh cricket board is in serious trouble financially as Indian tour is almost cancelled out and there are no big tours coming up apart from pak tour of bng for every 6 months.I don't see a good tour which will fetch good amount till may 27.

Nz,Aus are touring gir white ball format during ipl season effectively sending their all ipl and psl rejected candidates.

Good these lossers deserved it :kp

But what is legitimize reason for cancelling tours? I thought you are NOT supposed to involve politics in the realm of sports as per ICC rules?

In terms of politics, I haven't been following whats happening. BD just overthrew existing government thats about it, and it decides to make trade with whomever is offering better value and products/supplier.

Anyway, it's all good if they don't come. I don't want them to come. :inti

It was also a short and meaningless tour (no Test).:inti

Rescheduling of India’s white-ball Tour of Bangladesh

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have mutually agreed to defer the white-ball series, three ODIs and three Twenty20 Internationals, between Bangladesh and India in August 2025 to September 2026.

This decision has been reached following discussions between the two Boards, taking into account the international cricketing commitments and scheduling convenience of both teams.

The BCB looks forward to welcoming India in September 2026 for this eagerly anticipated series. Revised dates and fixtures for the tour will be announced in due course.

India should send their U17s team to Bangladesh they are more than enough to trash the international Bangladeshi kitty cats.

Bangladeshis are not worthy of facing the Indian senior team....

BCCI will schedule a home series against Sri Lanka now that this tour has been cancelled.

The tour got cancelled the day Yunus made that stupid statement in China.

This ''postponement'' is a face saver offered to BCB. If BD does not clean up its bigoted islamist, Hindu hating and murdering act, they can expect much worse.
Here we go again. Andhbhakhts doing what they do best, threatening the neighbours and pretending it's some kind of national service. 🤡

Bilateral tours has nothing to do with ICC and it is at the discretion between two boards.

India and Bangladesh are not in good terms ever since Yunus took over the charge. Firstly, Hindus and other minorities are been badly butchered under his nose. Even Donald Trump and Modi tweeted about it asking him to act but it had fallen in deaf ears. However, at the end of the day they are Bangladeshi citizens, so it is not that much of a big deal for India. The bigger issue though is the anti India stance by Mr Yunus. He goes to China and says 7 north eastern states of India are landlocked and BD is the guardian of them. LOL. Modi rightfully reminded him when met face to face to cut down the rhetorics.

Add to that the awful minnowisque team that Bangladesh has, India gains nothing by touring them for a meaningless white ball series. It will only help BCB to make money but BCCI does not want a hostile country like BD to make money at the expense of Indian cricketers. So no tour from us. Go and play against Pakistan and make money. Or invite China for a tour.

Thank you, Namaste and good bye.

More than political reasons with heavy schedule for players, playing Bangladesh is distraction needless workload. No offence.

Bangladesh should refuse to play India until India become free from RSS extremism. :inti

I am very glad this tour got canceled. Better to rest as they have lots of cricket this year.

PLEASE STAY ON TOPIC. THREAD IS NOT ABOUT WARS AND STUFF...

TALK ABOUT THE SERIES HERE

It’s quite shameful why we haven’t completely stopped all country to country relations with them already.

Pakistan is 10X a better and safer country right now besides they have bigger hearts too and actually a lot more beautiful country with beautiful people.

Once outstandingly issues are resolved we will get back to romance days with our Pakistani friends.

It’s another pointless series. Some second string players like Ishan Kishan will smash a double ton in an odi and the rest of the matches will be snooze fest.

Lol at Jammati Extermists calling others bhakts.....the irony of a brain washed Mullah calling someone a blind follower....

TALKS STARTED FOR A WHITE-BALL SERIES BETWEEN INDIA vs SRI LANKA

A possibility of 3 ODIs & 3 T20Is in Sri Lanka in Mid August.

I would like India to play against top teams instead Lanka.

Anyways its update over playing against Bangladesh.

:kp

Sri Lanka should arrange an ODI tri-series with India & some other team.

Kohli & Rohit can get practice now that they play only one format.

IPL is enough for them now (like Dhoni). BCCI should think of allowing these ex-players to participate in other leagues also (happening around the globe in different time-space), they can make even more money... (of course minus PSL for obvious reasons) Also those leagues will then be followed by Indian Audience and they can grow bigger!

If Kohli & Rohit are not playing Tests & T20s, I don't see why they should play ODIs? (the least interesting format now! Surviving only based on nostalgia/traditional/commercial factors) ODIs should feature a combination of T20 players + Test Players + Common players (who play both tests & T20s), there shouldn't be ODIs exclusive players! This looks redundant and also create logistic issues (why should Kohli, Rohit & other ODI specialists should travel/tour to play 3 matches in a long tour?)

Sri Lanka request BCCI for white ball tour after Bangladesh series cancellation

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has knocked on the doors of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) with a request to host a short white-ball series in August. The proposal comes in the wake of the cancellation of India's tour of Bangladesh. While the BCCI is yet to formally respond, should the series go ahead, it could see the return of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli - both currently out of two of the three formats and playing only in the ODIs - back in action next month.

SLC has proposed six white-ball games - three ODIs and three T20Is - the same number India were scheduled to play in Bangladesh, during the August window. However, the BCCI is still weighing its options. Much will depend on its decision regarding the Asia Cup, a call that is being keenly awaited by stakeholders, particularly the Pakistan Cricket Board-chaired Asian Cricket Council (ACC).

"There is a request pending from the SLC, but we have not decided on it yet. We will have to see the situation with the Asia Cup. Everything is interlinked," an informed source told Cricbuzz on Tuesday (July 9) evening. This is not to suggest that both the Asia Cup and the Sri Lanka series cannot take place, but the BCCI, naturally and appropriately, wants to consult with players and coaches before arriving at a decision.

BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia will be in London this week for the Lord's Test, and discussions with the players, head coach Gautam Gambhir, and chief selector Ajit Agarkar are likely during or after the match. The BCCI is expected to respond to SLC's request following those consultations.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, the biggest stars of Indian cricket and both now retired from the longest (Tests) and shortest (T20Is) formats, are expected to feature in the ODIs if the BCCI approves the SLC's request. India were originally scheduled to play six white-ball matches in Bangladesh from August 17 to 31, but the series was deferred to next year, with both the BCCI and the Bangladesh Cricket Board citing international commitments and scheduling convenience as the reasons.

Meanwhile, a decision on the Asia Cup is expected in the next couple of days and it depends on the BCCI position on the continental championship in which arch-rivals Pakistan, with whom the country was engaged in military conflict not too long ago, will be involved.

As the host of the tournament, the BCCI will have to take the final call, a decision that will naturally be guided by the advice of the Government of India. The Asia Cup is expected to be held from September 10 to 28, provided the Government of India gives its approval. However, a formal nod is still awaited.

Bangladesh confirm Ireland tour deferral, India series prompts move.

Bangladesh's upcoming tour of Ireland, scheduled for September 2026, has been postponed as they are eyeing to host India in that window, a Bangladesh Cricket Board official confirmed to Cricbuzz.

Cricbuzz understands that Cricket Ireland, who recently published their year-long schedule, informed the Bangladesh Cricket Board that they would be unable to accommodate a rescheduling within 2026. This came after the BCB conveyed that they would not be able to travel in September, as they are planning to host India during that period.

The two boards agreed to defer the series as both parties were unable to make it work in that September window.

India, who were originally scheduled to tour Bangladesh in 2025 before the series was postponed, are currently set to arrive on August 28 for three ODIs and three T20Is.

As per a BCB press release, the ODIs are scheduled for September 1, 3 and 6, while the T20Is will be played on September 9, 12 and 13.

"When the India series was moved from last year to this September, we asked them (Cricket Ireland) if they could accommodate us at another time in 2026, but they said they were unable to do so. So the tour has been postponed," a BCB official told Cricbuzz on Saturday.

"They also had some other issues, so we decided to work together to find a new window for the Ireland tour, hopefully sometime next year (2027)," he added.

Bangladesh have moved up to ninth in the International Cricket Council ODI team rankings following their recent 2-1 series win at home against Pakistan, and now have 79 rating points, two more than West Indies in tenth.

To secure direct qualification for the 2027 World Cup, to be held in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia, Bangladesh need to finish among the top eight teams in the rankings by March 31, 2027. Teams outside that bracket will have to go through a qualifying tournament.

With the Ireland tour postponed, Bangladesh are expected to host New Zealand, Australia and India, and travel to South Africa and Zimbabwe before the qualification deadline.

However, if the India tour in September is also postponed (it's subject to clearance from the Government of India amid recent diplomatic tensions), Bangladesh could end up with very few ODIs to work with before the direct qualification cut-off.

So they are begging for india to Play a bilateral series in Bangladesh.

We should not agree to Play in Bangladesh untill they apologize and
say sorry to India.

Software update complete. But I'm sure some posters on this forum want to tell us all why Pakistan should stand-up for Bangladesh lol.

Why are sanghis obsessed with Bangladesh 24/7? :inti

This thread keeps on getting bumped which is comical.

Maybe you should look to improve your Test team which is going down the gutter fast (already became #4 in Test rankings). :dav

P.S., I hope India will come and play ODI and Test in Bangladesh.

I fully expect Bangladesh to whitewash India in ODI and Test at home. :dav

India already lost back to back ODI series in Bangladesh anyway (with far superior teams).

Whatever India and Bangladesh should resume Bilateral ties. It was immature for Government to ban fizz and then whole fiasco. Regarding Bangladesh winning, it won't be upset. India doesn't have frontline spinner in tests and would be great contest in Bangla minefields. In ODIs as well Bangladesh is tough to beat at home. Looking forward to this

That was a fast U-turn!!

A fake Aus supporter of BDeshi origin should focus on winning an Asia Cup or a Nidhahas Trophy or a multi-lateral tournament, in the first place. Let alone the ICC tournaments.
There is no point in being obsessed with Indian test team 24×7. BD's achievement in cricket overall has been gutter level. :broad

Why are we touring that godforsaken land? After all it's BCCICC, so the chawaprash of FTP shouldn't be uttered by jammatis :dav
I humbly differ. I think we should tour them. The fact that after we removed their player from IPL and BD tried to act all tough, if they now happen to host India....it will make them look desperate. There is a worst word in hindi - Thook Ke...but I will leave it to maintain the decorum of the forum.

This will also be a lesson for Moshin Naqvi and their so called brothers for them they wanted to sacrifice WT20. Just a month after WT20 (which India won), BCB is reluctant to send its players to PSL and cancelling Ireland tour to host India in september.

Beautiful to watch.

Indians are known for being hypocrites no offence especially BCCI.

Bangladeshis aren’t playing this year’s IPL,
Tariq rehman government has started a process to build better relations with India, Bangladesh dhfi chief visited India recently to strengthen intelligence cooperation, government of bd is also investigating the bcbfor its failure to play the last t20wc, Mohammad Yunus is no more in power in bd, things have changed
