India have not decided not enforce the follow on. Give Australia a total of 450 to chase in 4 sessions.

do you know what a test match is?
aussies were over 200 runs away from india's total so india had the choice to enforce the follow-on, meaning let the aussies bat again, and for example if the aussies made 250 batting again india would only have 50 runs to win. but india chose not to enforce the follow-on so india are batting again, australia will have to chase the target down in the last innings and the test match is continuing as usual.

good decision.

Have patience. Didn't Lee ask his team mates to keep patience before the start of the tour. He specifically told that patience is the key to success in India.

Ponting as impressed with Brett Lee as the rest of us, taken off after 3 overs.

Hope that stings him a little because he has woefully underperformed so far.

Sadly the 23 year old Peter Siddle is attempting to hold the attack together while Lee and MJ bowl garbage.

In discussions with some other Aussie fans about meeting up to burn effigies and drink beer. Would look very funny on the news.

India are in a commanding position at 100-0 at the end of day 3 with a total lead of 301! They should look to bat for 2 sessions tommorow and give Australia 500 runs to chase in 4 sessions.
 
India should declare with a 450 run lead.

Unless Aussie batsman really pickup their game, this is the end of Aussie dominance. Siddle and Johnson are not the kind of bowlers who I can picture demolishing batting lineups
 
Well frankly, I can see no way out of this match For Australia. No doubt India have cheated, through wizzardry or some other method, but congratulations to your inevitable crushing victory in this test match.

Now S.A will lock horns with the Aussies for the #1 spot, I believe. Until recently the gap between the Aussies and the #2 team was humongous, not anymore.

So what was Lee's speed today? The usual 135-136 km/hr he has been bowling on this tour.
 
Crickfile on ARY Digital is showing - Watching Pakistan vs India 2006, the Karachi Test one. Akhtar is clocking 90 MPH, but bowling the poor deliveries consistently. Sometimes, i feel that we are better without Akhtar who is not gonna use the brain to accomate line/length or possibly to bowl in right area :|

India is on the top. Great to see. That was expected :D

watched an hour towards the end of the day. I think it was slightly above, 138-141 km/hr. for some reason his line of attack wasn't threatening at all, that wasn't the case in the IPL few months ago. seeing the field placement one would wonder that if Ponting's confidence on him is shaken a bit!

So far on this tour the difference between Brett Lee and Shoaib Akhtar could just not have been clearer. I have really been dissapointed by Lee on this tour.

Yup he is on the heavy side. I havent found any pictures of him from the T-20 tournament either.

The thing with Akhtar is that he rarely bowls defensively. I have never seen Akhtar bowl half heartedly. He gives it all. An all out attacking bowler. Never bowls to contain.

Also, I have never seen any batsman playing him comfortably. He always has something to trouble the batsmen on any surface. I have now heard this many times from pakistan cricketers that Akhtar is not an intelligent bowler compared to waqar etc. I dont understand these comments.

Also Akhtar seems to have a much better control over line/length than Lee at that pace. You rarely see Akhtar overpitching and giving batsmen the luxury to plant and drive. He usually likes to keep the batsmen on the backfoot and then slip in a fuller for LBW/bowled.

he has a comprehensive skillset. I cant find anything lacking in his bowling.

On another trivial note, I read in one of his interviews in which he was asked about Ishant Sharma and he said that he first saw him in nov-dec 2006 bowling in nets and was very impressed and he conveyed that to Indian dressing room.

It really brings a smile to my face when someone other myself writes a post like this. Could not have put it better myself. Lee has had things to easy, i am certain he now knows how much hard work commitment and skills Akhtar has had to put in for his 178 test wickets given that 90% of the time he has bowled on wickets like the ones in India. It takes a lot more effort, commitment to bowl 95 mph in such conditions on a consistent basis then in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and England.
 
Excellent performance by IND so far.

Only chance AUS have now is to dismiss Sehwag early and then hope IND send Dravid in to bat who ends up scoring at a SR of under 50.

So once again, its India that is giving the world champions a taste of their own medicine.

If anything, given what an arrogant **** Ponting is, India should make that medicine taste even more bitter. Serves him right.
 
Can’t remember when India was in such a dominant position at the end of day 3 against a major test playing nation- pr when Australia was in such a hopeless position.

Looking forward to see how Australia bowl, field and bat during the next two days when they have their backs to the wall for such an extended period of time. Quite apart from the result we might get some nice stories to munch over. :D

Where did I post the Aus team was not arrogant? I just pointed out the Indian team has more than it's share of arrogance. But in typical Indian style you can't actually address the point I raised, you just point fingers at the other guy like schoolkids "but they did it first!"

And wow the Pakistan coach says what his masters would like him to say, wow that is a surprise. You think he is going to say no they are great guys? He coached more than half the team in past years.
