Watson ends with 4, it's all over.
India all out for 295
Australia will have 381 to win

Australia will have to bat extremely well if they are going to make 381

What's wrong, why aren't they declaring ?
U have been saying this for a while now, even when they had a lead of ~350 (i think).

The captain cannot take a risk bhai, HE is the one who will win the series if this ends in a draw...

Wont Ponting be fined/banned anyway? I think they are far behind the over-rate, isnt it?

Nope Matty's best mate 'Broady' should see a safe passage for the Aussies without any punishment :D...

There it is.....381 is gettable....if there are any demons in the pitch, they are of the Casper kind.

For Australia to win, we will see the most fantastic day's cricket. But will they take up the challange? I am sure Dhoni will go back to one foot outside off stump if the Aussies get off to a good start. Will Aussies still leave those balls this time?

I am sure Australia will be aggressive. They got nothing to lose.

Whoever who calls Aus/Ind series boring should really get a reality check!!!!!!!!!!!!! We got a cracker of finally on the cards, if this was against SA the score would have been 3-0 with most probably OZ winning by an innings and 100 runs atleast lol....

The Sky Sports commentator also thinks the OZ media will ask some serious questions to Ponting.

Hehe, i would love to see Ponting than :P

Wickets are what we need, Come on boyssssss house needs to come down,, LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

when was the last time a team scored 380 runs in a single day in India? I can't remember anything in th recent past.

Most Pitches in India by the 4th innings are ploughed up fields.....this one has held up very nicely....can't rule out anything.

Cracker???

This will be the most successful run-chase in India if they make it...

And when u take into account the way AUS have batted & IND have bowled....

Why havent we heard anything about reverse swing from Indians ever since Mohali? Did they suddenly forget how to use it???

Wellll........they are going for it?

This is going to be some viewing.......Didnt think Katich would play that stroke this early.

13 runs of 1st over...what's going on.

Never....

Stumps Day 4.
Australia 13/0 after 1.3 overs

369 required off the last day, very gettable if they play the usual "Aussie-style" (run rate 4+) :P

the reason why pointing gave over to partimers is he did not want india to get out earlier. He did not want to play 120 overs to draw the game. he knows that they cant chase once the lead went over 250. very defensive captain IMHO.

Who's he ?
Charles Colville, u probably wont know him if u havent SKY. He's a known face there, but was never a professional cricketer

aus need to win this test to level the series so this makes pontings tactics a joke, and your statement confusing :)

Ponting has been really ordinary as a captain in this series. He has looked like a complete shadow of himself. He has been negative, he's been indecisive, he looks like a clueless and a frustrated man to be honest. The exodus of Mcgrath, Warne, Gillespie and the failure of Lee in this series has really put him under a lot of pressure.

I am sure there will be a big post mortum after this series. Symonds will definately return but i am certain Lee will be in the firing line. Johnson has done better than Lee on this tour.

They have used it, the Aussies are prepared for it now.

did you not get confused when they scored only 160 runs after playing whole day when we all know that they have to win this match to level the series?

What is the highest amount of runs ever chased down on the final day of a test match?

This is getting an interesting. This is another draw, to present another boring Test. Ricky will not take any risk and to avoid another embarrassing result is to pursue the DRAW instead.

I cant see Australia scoring 369 on last day unfortunatley! Its a case of wether India can make series 2-0 or a draw! If Australia some how do win someone will have to play the inns of the life!

Im not sure but 300+ Totals chased in subcontinent to win a test match has only been done on 4 occasions if memory serves me right.

And never in India i think.

Highest successful runchase in India seems to be 276 by West-Indies

And AUS have to score 100+ more runs :))

It's going to be really tough for Australia to chase 369 on the final day unless the pitch doesn't change much which has held up well on the first 4 days and 2-3 of the Aussie batsmen get in and really dominate the Indian bowling attack! But still it's going to a big ask for the Aussie batsmen!

Probably because Lee has bowled rubbish this series. But Lee is not bowling now due to the over rate not anything personal.

I cannot believe we have handed India this game to save a suspension to the captain.

AB gave Ponting a massive spray in commentary before.

I am not watching this anymore. :pissed: :pissed: :pissed: :pissed:

This is an absolute disgrace to Australian cricket. I cannot think of an explanation that will be adequate.

I know this was Day 4 and it's ancient history now, but this will go down in the annals as a HUGE f@#$up from Dubya, even worse than sending England in to bat in Edgbaston in 2005 or his cowardly declaration against SA in Perth in 2005 as well (I think). He had the chance to maybe turn the screws when momentum was on our side and he bowls frigging Cam White who's done sweet fark all all series. THIS was the match changing moment. All for these bloody over rates which HE (Dubya) is mainly responsible for with all the pitch conferences, field changes etc.

This is what I worry about with Dubya - he has no intuition sometimes. If the frigging punters on TV can see that this was a game changing moment, why couldn't he? Was he really that scared about being suspended? Who cares about that, go to the beach next week or something.

Maybe it would have been to no avail. Maybe Saint Harby and Dhoni would still have flogged the ball around even if Watto, etc were bowling. But geez it was a very negative act to turn to your trundlers when we needed wickets.

There was a Test to be won, and Dubya blinked and was found wanting.

And there goes Dhoni....

One of the unanswered mysteries of Cricket.

Why did Ponting shoot himself in the foot by bowling parttimers for so long.

Because he's an idiot! :po:
