What's new

India v England | 2nd Test | Visakhapatnam | Nov 17-21, 2016 | Day 3

Woakes may have been useful here

Stokes isn't a wicket taker

Do all the people who were saying Anderson shouldve retired rather than come back from injury as 'he's past it/finished' still believe that?

Rahane against Anderson ,Rahane against Rashid so much difference.

look like kohli will reach 50 avg this season may be in this series currently averaging 48+

Start of this season it looked like far fetched to think kohli would end up with 50+ avg by the end of the season because he had a lot of catching up to do (i believe he was around43-45 avg). But wow! He is at 48+ now.

I am sure he will end up with 50+ in all formats if he carrys on like this!

Fans came to the wrong game I think.

"We want sixers" chants

Anderson is still all class. Same goons who call him clouderson drool at the sight of Amir bowling gun barrel straight pies regardless of conditions.

Kohli averaging 48 after playing so much on Indian pitches is just amazing. Most other batsmen in the world would be averaging in 30s if they played as many matches in India.

Pujara avgs ~67 in India IIRC, so it's not like they are that bad. Don't know abt Vijay, Rahane etc. Rahul avgs a dismal 20 in India though :(

100+ not out in this match and kohli avg will be 50+ I think so

Don't think so, would be close to 49 but wouldn't cross 49 if my calculation is right.

Kohli on 49 now:
Career: 3859 in 86 innings 6 not outs
3859+41 = 3900/(86-6) = 48.75

To avg 50, kohli needs to end this match with 4000 career runs and not out.
Then he will average exactly 50. That means he needs another 141 runs (or end up 200*)

Actually i think i did miscalcuate if Kohli scores 100 then he will be on 3910/80 which is 48.875. Still won't cross 49.

How did you get 49.48

The way Kohli has played on this pitch I think he will do fine if we ever tour UAE in future.

Rahul averages nearly 50 outside asia.

Needs to do more HTBing. Good thing though his competition Babar isn't having a good time either.:yk

Cricinfo:
"I'd say yet another fifty for Kohli but he hasn't had one in Tests this year." That's a good spot, Ari, if true. Yes Ari it is ture.

Kohli: Three occasions excluding this one he crossed 50 this year: 200, 211 and 167.

actually added 100 to the total which is wrong and didn't consider the runs which he already made in this inning

Not just that, his 100s have been big 100s too. 167, 200, 211 AamchiMumbaikar

Virat Kohli in 2016:

Innings: 37
Runs: 2253
200s: 2
150s: 3
100s: 6
50s: 12

Undoubtedly his best ever calendar year in his career till date.
