After the fireworks in the first ODI, if this is half as good we are in for an exciting match.

I guess the wickets Flat and the boundaries are about 30 yards all way around as per usual? :)
 
Looks like another Phatta track. The bowlers should boycott after watching such pitches day in and day out.

We all know he hides from pressure sort of situations. I mean in last game he came one down since India got a good start and in this match India got a poor start and Dhoni didn't come one down nor two down
 
Where are you now Dhoni? Oh that's right, since early wickets have fallen you might get out early and thus without being able to maintain that ODI average of yours with a score of 50 or more. Yeah, it's kool just send some other sacrificial lamb, who will help take the shine off the new ball for you leaving the stage perfect for you to come in nurdle the ball around, take your merry time to get your 50 and who knows you could even remain not out. What an early Xmas present that would be eh?! A 50 and a not out!!! Ooooh!

I think thats very clever thinking by our captain. Gambhir is a better player of the new ball. Dhoni is a better player of the old ball. Plus one of our middle order pillars Yuvraj is missing so we need a lower order player today. Nothing wrong with his strategy as it has benifited the team again and again and we have won so many mathces becuase of this

Dhoni clearly considers himself the player for crisis situation , why is it so difficult to understand ?

not really , at least not with the kind of batting we have .

see the idea is simple . if couple of early wicket falls , Dhoni prefers sending in players who still attack , like GG , Raina or Kholi .More often than not this would work , only if this backfires Dhoni will be required who has hardly disappointed us in those situations .

No one in the current lot , plays more for the team than this guy & thanks to him we have couple of youngsters who are used to playing under pressure .

haven't seen too much of these guys but surely Dhoni is at least as attacking as them?

nope , Dhonis approach is totally different when we are in trouble . GG ,Raina & Kohli take a lot of risks , so this gives India a chance to score at a good rate even after having lost early wickets . its about knowing whats best for the team , rather than individual players looking good .

Sri Lanka need a better keeper. that should've been taken.
