Gambhir gives Rampaul the charge. Straight to the fielder though.

He has never walked.

They trying to lose!?

If you keep urself updated, he had walked many times before as well. To satisfy your stats urge..., in 1998, during one of the Sharjah innings .. iirc, the qualifying inns when he scored 140 something.

Cricinfo chatterbox:

Comment From Spitfire Ponting: Strange to see an Indian West Indian turning into a fast bowler

Meanwhile, in the other match... man, Kenya is easily the most awful team of the tournament!

im actually surprised.. the kind of bounce Rampaul is extracting off this pitch ... why isn't Darren Border Sammy bringing Russell from the other end??

OHhh here we go, we are gonna make a hero of out of another human of Indian background in the opposition, first Chanderpaul now Rampaul on his way.....

Zaltzman-

Russell replaces Benn. He scuds 4 byes over Thomas' head. Crowd perking up, 51-1 after 8. Crowd perking down again. Gambo slashes to 3rd man

Why i just don't feel that buzz about this match like i felt during matches with England, RSA and even Bangladesh :inti

Just a question:

India can mathematically still end up at 4th and play Pakistan if they lose badly today. But how bad do they have to be beaten?

Just got to know umpire Gave :sachin not out and he walked, is it true??

Awein hero giri nahi karni chahiye... :kami

This Russel guy will be tough to face under lights.

Zaltzman's commentary is pure class-

51-2. GG out to a Jayasuriya tribute shot. Another wicket for Rampaul. Yuvraj is in. He can be majestic. Sometimes.

:)))

WI bowling is ordinary and irritating for world's greatest batting line-up ! :sachin

By some 160 odd runs or if WI chase the target in 28.5 overs.

WI has to chase down India's set total in 21 overs for India to end up at the 4th position.
Looks a little more likely now...

how come chennai which is known for slow and spinner friendly, suddenly bouncing a lot and having lot of pace. BCCI did not flex its financial muscle to make the pitch similar to the one Eng and SA were playing.

Because India has qualified?

True, plus we just don't have a rivalry with WI. I don't know man, this seems like a bilateral series tie. Nothing compared to the matches we had with RSA, England, Bangladesh. Even the Pakistanbi fans were excited in those matches.

Great shot by UV for :four

Pak fans must have an eye on this match and see how WI play !

Zaltzman on Tikolo now- :P

Stop it. We all know you are an Indian, no need to make it so obvious.

Exactly, and winning or losing against West Indies (that too, without Gayle and Roach) doesnt really tell anything.

Just struck to me and I shudder as I write....

WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED HAD ROACH PLAYED IN THIS GAME?

Zaltzman -

Kohli has scored 22, Dravidly. We see the other side of the Yuvraj coin, a limpid flap to backward point, dropped by a diving Sammy. 67-2

From cricinfo:

Richard Wilkin: "@Tim...As a West Indies fan, I would rather them play Pakistan than Australia! But I can't root against them while they are playing so at the end of today, I'm hoping we are matched up against the Australians!"

Easy big boy, he would have been tore apart just like Steyn

UV living dangerously there, another one in the air.

That's what happens when you are assured to go ahead . Lazy cicket :yawn

Kohli score a hundred here and i am bumping the Umar-Kohli thread after a long time ! :)))

I am getting the doordarshan telecast, :(their commentators are aweful

Haha, am a little bigger than a big boy tbh. Anyways, it's been difficult for the batsmen to play against the fast medium pace of Ravi Rampaul. Roach is anyday better than him. This isnt looking like those flat tracks where India tore apart Steyn. Steyn has had good memories with India.
Averages a 23 Vs India in ODIs.

This match is lacking intensity?

Windies have not picked their best team.

India are playing half heartedly. Have had 2 chances dropped apart from the 2 wickets.

Tendulkar walked - the replays are inconclusive.

It seems that the Indians would not be upset to avoid playing Australia in the QFs.

Greatest batting line-up looks rusty today ! 5.5 for our standards is not a good run rate :(
