24.4 RP Singh to Watson, no run, short of length delivery on the stumps, Watson looks to pull but ducks at the last minute

24.3 RP Singh to Clarke, 1 run, good length delivery on the off, Clarke goes on the backfoot and defends it to cover to pick up a quick single

24.1 RP Singh to Watson, 1 run, fuller length delivery on the stumps, Watson shuffles across and flicks it to mid wicket

SHANE WATSON GONE! Raina takes an absolutely brilliant catch at point... struck hard and low, raina dives forward and to his left (his better side) and takes it inches above the ground. end of a destructive innings by watson... and now only clarke stands in the path of India.

Raina saves a run with brilliant work... but just misses out on a runout (safe though, but could have been close with a direct hit).

Bhajji strikes! Cosgrove has no answer for the turnbator's guile and nicks one to dravid at first slip who takes it diving to his left and a mere inches above the ground. india's fielding today has been exquisite to say the least.

ahhh... a half chance... clarke misreads the top spinner and chips it to point where raina dives full length to his right but the ball bounces a foot or two before him.

luck favors the bold...

looks lyke ausie can play spin!
much to the contrary, save for a four on sehwag on the charge, the spinners have put the brakes on the australians and significantly slowed the runrate...

not to mention the wickets falling.

I think India should win this with their batting ...

Aarrgh... tough stumping missed... clarke gave sehwag the charge, missed and was a good yard or two outside his crease, however the ball hits his right leg and is deflected to dhoni's right, who fails to collect it and inflict a stumping.

and again! dhoni misses a tough chance down the leg side... commentators are sympathetic with dhoni but given the way raina and the lot have been fielding, dhoni needs to pull something special out of his hat.

200 comes up at 4.91 runs per over... STOP PRESS! Sehwag dimisses haggin with some neat, intelligent fielding. fields a shot by clarke on his follow throw and tosses the ball back between his feet to hit the stumps and finds haggin outside his crease. australia now 200-6 in the 41st over.

u won't see thick bat edge being caught on leg side too often

Munaf finds the edge but clarke survives... the ball sails through first slip, past a diving dhoni for 4 runs to deep fine leg.

and munaf responds with a brilliant delievery that bounces and moves into the batsman who misses it completely, but survives as the ball passes just above the stumps... munaf bowling well, but just needs some luck.

you sir are correct but well... from here, from the comfort of my couch thats a chance. now i just need a refill of my potato chips bowl.

and meanwhile patel pitches it short and clarke has him fetch it from mid wicket boundary. six runs to clarke.

270 is a good total for india i guess
dude its 228 in the 46th over... 260 is probably most they will get unless the bowlers are really off target, and so far both ajit and munaf have not been so.

three runs in the 46th over, of which one was a bye... and for good measure, ajit hits hogg in the nuts again, a second time in two delievers bowled to hogg.

god bless the makers of abdomen guards.

u can get 47 in last 2 overs remember Razzaq :11:

clarke hits munaf in the air, does not get the elevation, and hence is caught by raina. good innings by clarke. back to back half centuries by him, australia 230 - 7. now 250 looks omnious.

yeah and i also recall jadeja, but neither are here. and speaking of which, the last recognized batsman has just left the ground.

Wonder why Yuvi was not used as Australia has certain weakness against offies and left armers.

The Aussie bowling attack looks crap apart from McGrath of course. India should chase the total.

lol cameramen run for cover, the camera at the top has been put out of function, a weird perspective to watch the match. and meanwhile the thunder drowns the sound of a regulation nick. munaf denied, yet again!

India has a decent chance to win ... they have a strong line up from batting point-of-view.

Interesting - they switched off the cameras at one end because of the lightning scare. So now its like watching cricket in the old days - from behind the keeper for overs from one end.

that was out .. clear nick .. it doesn't matter much though.

this time there is no thunder and mitchel johnson is dismissed. nick to agarkar and dhoni does well to take low and to his left. i guess zeus favors hogg more than mitchell. australia 232-8 in 47.1. india have done really well to bring the run rate from from over 6 in the first 20 overs to less than 5.

dhoni! misses a simple collect, they take a run and then the next ball stuart clarke hits munaf in the air, again no timing or elevation and another catch. 243-9 in the 49th over. munaf gets another to his name.

48.5 overs 243/9 ... cricinfo shows 244/9 ... can someone provide the correct score.

India has a great chance to win this unless they are denied by rain once again.

243 - 9 in 48.5

i think this match is going to be washed out for good. or if the overs are reduced, then india lose out on all the good work done to pull the aussies back in the middle.

Silly Idea...considering such a tournament at this time in such a location....but yeah money talks....

Aus:244 all out ... I hope they have a full match and rain stays away. It will be a fascinating contest.

Australia 244/10 (49.2 ov)
Australia won the toss and elected to bat first

Australia RR 4.94

money talks, and money talks loud. and with fat cats like modi at the fore, expect every penny to be extracted. just to give you an idea, west indies and australia are receiving a million for every match they play, with the entire bill footed by the indian board. and after that, they still have enough left to invest 345 million (yep thats dollars) for development of cricket in india.

for people comparing Asif to Pathan

4-0-32-0
has asif played australia? when he does, it would be better to compare them then. and yes, asif is a better bowler but certainly not the gem you guys make him out to be. i think tendulkar and yuvraj had very good measure of him in the ODIs in Pakistan.

and yeah, pathan has his bad days, just as every other bowler.

India need 63runs from 20overs without losing a wicket from D/L method. if they lose 1 then they need 70.3wkts they would need 95. so game iz in India's pocket.

I cannot comprehend still these idiots have been following this stupid Duckworth lewis method for 14 years!

Not sure if this is going to be enough. We need a couple of early wickets for sure. India only need a couple of batsman to click. Anyone know what time the restart is?

Pakistan is always we, not sometimes.

The rest are only we when playing India or England. Typical? Maybe.....but my experience with Indians as a kid growing up in Dubai was a painful one and left a deep psychological hatred for India which I have only in the last few years grown out of......now I only hope you lose every match at cricket.

Johnson to Tendulkar
fuller in length, on middle stump and nips back, tries to defend it, edges it to third man for a single

Good solid start by Sachin. In complete control from ball 1.
