we have two top quality international ODI sides in west indies and Australia and then a third team being a minnow who are there to make up the numbers!

ICC might aswell have given malaysia ODI status rather than india!

It was funny while it lasted. 5 wkts falling in less than 3 overs is not something you see regularly.

In a sense rain came at the right time. But I for one dont believe that the game was closed for India. It was a matter of 140 runs in 22 overs or so. 5 wkts in hand, bad fielding conditions . India had successfully chased from positions worse than this in the past one year. But yes, the aussies were completely on top while rain stopped play.

Anyway, no point in discussing what could have been. End of the day, both teams go with 2 points apiece.

It will be a totally different Aus team in the next stage of this tournament, with Hayden, Hussey, Lee etc coming in.

THEN we will have fun

Pathfetic batting performance by India today, I praise the Indian bowlers for only conceding 156 runs in the last 35 overs of the match, a lot of areas still to improve on.

However I'm still confident that India will win this tri-series, and Tendulkar will play very good in this series.

India din deserve to loose this match after ristricting ozs for 245,which they wud have chased easily if not for the rain...even at 35/5 we had raina n Dhoni who have won matches frm such positions , it was 50/50 for both sides...one good partenership wud have seen us through!

anyways, as for the match... Zeus giveth and he taketh...

the rain denied us a victory against west indies, which well was not certain but on the cards, and then the rain saved us from a possible defeat, though the mixup between sehwag and sachin was all thanks to a super damp outfield and neither batsman expected the ball to just stop on them. i think its fool hardy to dismiss india as the third team in this tournament, and i am quite certain we will rebound with venom in the later half of the series. i expect an india australia final where ponting will, as he has before bat us out of the match.
