India vs England | 1st Test | Ahmedabad | Day 1

England made a blunder , Monty should have played. On sub continent pitches you should play two front line spinners.

Poor cricket from England, worked hard to create the chance then fluffed it.

For those of you logging in for first time today, that was the fourth 'chance' England have missed today. Two clear catches, a stumping, and a catch Anderson misjudged and didn't reach at mid-on

Seems England have been proper donkeys today

disgraceful stuff from Trott, deserving of a fine if not a ban.

Do any of you guys think Monty panesar should have played as second spinner?

Pujara is class. I think India have found their next 2 batting superstars in him and Kohli. They both still have a lot to prove but they definitely have the talent and the temperament.

India should finish with around 350 at close of play which will set them up nicely here. England need to take probably 3 more wickets before close of play to make it an even day.

England strength when they were playing well was there fielding, now they seem to have novices in the slip regions in particular which doesnt ever help.

Now Eng batting would be the key , they will need Daddy hundreds from top 6 to make sure they can force a draw.

India have got serious batting riches. Chand is another talented youngster who can easily make the step up. Rahane and Rayudu are unlucky to be missing out as they are not bad batsman but their time will come.

Pujara is class. I think India have found their next 2 batting superstars in him and Kohli. They both still have a lot to prove but they definitely have the talent and the temperament.

I think Kohli will still have work very hard for test cricket. He has been exception in LOIs, but tests are different. Pujara seems to better than him for longer version of the game.

I missed Pujara's let-off . What happened?

36.6
Bresnan to Pujara, 1 run, close! Nearly for England and Anderson has misjudged that at mid-on. Pujara got a leading edge and the ball looped in the air towards mid-on, Anderson starting to run in and by the time he realised couldn't get back. Not a drop, but a let-off

Eng should have known that they would get these sort of pitches here, they should have done there homework. India not likely to offer them green juicy pitches :D

Indian batting talent overflowing. The bad thing is that many Talented batters would miss out , hard luck.

*** was that from trott?

He's going to hammered by the indian media and he's going to deserve every bit of it.

Patel is a bits and pieces cricketer , do not see him making an impact with ball here, unless batsman makes a mistake.

Even after so many dot balls, Kohli doesn't seem even a bit effected. Looks calm n composed, need a 50 from him here...

England have themselves to blame for this predicament with all those dropped catches.

Swann has been very good so far. I think meaker/onions should have been picked. Bresnan is cannon fodder vs sehwag and co. on slow and low pitches. Meaker with extra pace might have done something.

England are too conservative much like SA. These two teams go into a mysterios shell against spin bowling which has been their downfall. These two teams are best when they dominate.
