This is a very good crowd for a Test match on a weekday.

Only in Indian venues can you still find crowds for a Test match outside of England/Australia.

Beautiful cutter. Similar cutter made Rizwan look like a tailender at the World Cup.

Very deceptive delivery.

Please I don't want another 2 and half day Test. England be sensible.

As expected, India have entered their customary "no idea how to get the last 3 wickets" phase. So great chane for England to pile on their runs

Wow tom Hartley is playing attacking cricket .
20 from 21 ball already with 2 four and a six

Fun is over. Now wood can carry the momentum and they can score a competitive total now .

Rohit still believing jadeja after all these years is enough reason for him to retire from international cricket

The England skipper ends the over with a switch hit for four. Switch well and truly flicked now. Ben is banging it all over the place!

Anyone who witnessed Wood’s battings cameos at Headingley during last summer’s drawn Ashes series will know he can pack a punch with the bat.

215-8 hmmm It could be a good score if Indian batters struggle on this pitch as well.

The players are back out now for our final session of the day.

Will it end with India in to bat or Stokes walking off to the applause of his teammates once again?

So it’s rinse & repeat big 3 play 5 test matches each get to the wtc finals by default & rest live of scraps. Is Vince macmohan heading icc these days

India vs England: Ashwin-Jadeja Make History, Shatter Kumble-Harbhajan's All-Time Record

India's spin twins, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja, achieved a historic milestone on Day 1 of the first Test against England in Hyderabad. Bagging the first three wickets for India on the day, Ashwin and Jadeja went past the legendary spin pair of Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh in the list of most wickets for India as a pair. Ashwin and Jadeja went to a tally of 503 scalps as England went three down. Kumble and Harbhajan, on the other hand, had 501 wickets to their name in Tests for India as a pair.

Following Kumble and Harbhajan, the third pair on the list is that of Bhajji and Zaheer Khan. Between them, the spin-pace duo had bagged 474 wickets for India.

It was Ravichandran Ashwin who made the first breakthrough of the game after he dismissed Duckett in the 12th over of the match on Day 1.

The second wicket came when Ravindra Jadeja removed Ollie Pope (1 run from 11 balls) in the 15th over. Pope failed to make a mark in the game and put England in a better position.

The third wicket came soon in the 16th over after Ashwin dismissed the English opener, Crawley.

At lunch break, England was at 108/3, with Jonny Bairstow (32*) and Joe Root (18*) on the crease.

After winning the toss, the visitors decided to bat first in Hyderabad and Ben Stokes' decision did go in their favour as they crossed the 100-run mark in the 26th over.

Zak Crawley (20 runs from 40 balls) and Ben Duckett (35 runs from 39 balls) opened for England and put the visitors to a good start after they made a solid partnership of 55 runs. Crawley slammed three fours. Meanwhile, Duckett smashed seven fours.

England all out for 246 runs. At one stage it was looking like a 300 plus score but indian bowlers did well.

What a logic !!
If they play 5 match series against weaker teams then you have a point but they are playing against each other which decreases their chance for WTC final ..

Will this be enough for England? But It was a class act by Ben stokes.
