Tell that to English curators. We get flat pitches everywhere, despite the fact that our bowlers feast on seaming conditions. Atmospheric swing makes it a decent contest.

Dont worry, thats just the Indian propaganda machine trying to fool their own fans that what they do is the same as the rest. Which it isnt.

Might be a two day Test here.

Thats not a fact at all, the pitch suits the teams because they are used to the home conditions. Its only India left now who seem to think curator is 13th man. And umpire 14th man. And BCCI 15th man for every home game.

Like we got in Kolkatta???? like trott was given not out last over??? or like BCCI bribed england and aus to loose matches at their home last year??

the thing is people only remember decisions which go in favor of india ..and selectively forget the rest !!

On the bright side, this pitch favors the pacers... And Ishant can't bowl all day.

Err....

You got many decisions in your favor in Kolkatta

I am not watching the match but I don't get the droves of non-Indians coming here and crying about the pitch. Is it dangerous to cause injury to the batsmen? No? Then play on!

India going down to such levels to win a test , its sad.

we lost both matches due to our batting...so this will be the same pitch we will be playing in..

and it will be actually much harder to play seamers than spin looking at the pitch....who england has better than us...and our batsmens weak....

so there is no guarantee really!!

Thats true but your team is always trying to avoid competing on merit so you get what you pay for. Might fool Indian cricket fans but everyone else knows exactly what is going on here.

On the other hand ball isn't spinning at all, might be a monumental blunder picking 4 spinners :))

he gave trott not out just an over before which was plumb !!

Are you mad? Hawk eye replay clearly showed the impact is outside off, more than half of the ball is outside. But the replays they are showing now were from either side of the umps head. Camera angle from Ishant's head will always show the impact in line.

50.1

Anderson to Yuvraj Singh, no run, Anderson slides one in from around the wicket and Yuvraj gets trapped on the front, huge, huge cry for lbw, this looks close but umpire Tucker says no, must have reckoned he was outside the line
Hawk Eye had that lbw shout as out..

52.6

Ojha to Compton, OUT, but he's gone now, attempting a paddle sweep, missed, it looked in line and given out lbw but not after Rod Tucker has shaken his head! Bizarre but Compton's gone. No idea what the umpire was doing but if Compton didn't glove the attempted sweep he was caught bang in line, not sure whether glove was involved but India have the breakthrough

This was not out (gloved before wicket)

 Because its unsporting, thats why. If the pitch just happen to be like this, no problem. If pitch is made to order.....

Poor decision from Dharma giving Trott not out and sending cook off wrongly . But KP batting :11:

Despite the view from one of the cameras, the view from the other camera (as well as Hawkeye) suggest that Trott was struck just outside the line. That one was a correct decision.

Cook's dismissal was a terrible decision. Struck him outside the line and would have missed a fourth stump.

Anyway, Im going to shut up about the pitch now, said my piece.

Looking forward to the next day of this game!

There is uneven bounce , and as the match progresses it will be lower and lower. It will be tough to survive on third day .....

KP threatens to break momentum. India's decision to field 4 spinners looks ridiculous with each passing over.

always?????

like we threw the under arm ball to new zealanders? or we showed finger to umpire to give out???

We saw pitches in perth etc etc which are very bouncy for subcontinent cricketers....and that apparently is okay

but for english and aus batsmans ..as soon as pitch spins..it becomes a bad pitch !!!

we will also be playing on the same pitch...and we are not a good batting side either now....so...I am not sure where is the advantage any more than united natons !!

Next tour, England should arrange every warm up again against India playing their B team spinners for practice on rank turners.

Then prepare 5 Trent Bridge-esque tracks playing our best quicks.

Well Jadeja's first over in Test cricket is as expensinve as he is used to be in the other formats!

I was talking about the pitch in Kolkatta..not decisions that did not favor united nations !!!! sorry for not being clear....

Bresnan could be very handy on this pitch with his off cutters fuller length deliveries.

Define 'unsporting' please. It isn't like English batsmen play on a different pitch and Indian batsmen play on another. And we have all seen how Indian batsmen have fared in this series on home pitches.

Whose to say tomorrow Indian batting will crumble in the worst way of this series? You still won't see me complaining about the pitch. I see such pitches as equally challenging as bouncy/green top/spinning pitches.

It reduces the impact of skill, and increases the effect of luck. Luck that you don't get one that kept too low. Makes it a roll of the dice in a deciding test match.

True !!!

but no..only balls that bounce to head high are considered challenging pitches !!!!

May be its time to introduce Ashwin or Chawla.

So far left armers looked very easy to play for the batters.

Interesting stuff. With Dhoni at 6, Indian tail is potentially very long.

250 a good score?

Err no. This isn't a test of skill like a Perth, Trent Bridge or a Durban.

This is a pitch where unless you can be a psychic and predict if the ball is going to hit a crack or not you are at a severe disadvantage. You cant train or prepare yourself for this type of track,

You are so predictable with yout whinging when Eng cop a bad decision. There are countless times INdia got a bad one. Deal with it.

lol as if Indians don't whinge about decisions.

If your best batsman in the team was given out wrongly that too an opener at the start of the match is as cruel as it gets.

Well you talked about umpiring howlers attached to your sentence. And the Trott call was Umpire's call, Cook's was a howler. So it's not like England are getting much help here.

Like swinging conditions help praveen kumar in england and does not have the same swing in india because we do not same pitches......

so dont you think conditions in england help the bowlers??? isn't that luck???

havent we seen pitches with uneven bounce before?

So staying low and keeping an eye out for balls that don't bounce much is not skill? Right.

Its like arguing with a wall.

You need skill to swing or seam a ball.

Pray tell the skill required to bowl and pray that it hits a crack.

No, pitches in England don't help the bowlers unless it is cloudy. Have you not seen SA at Lord's, or Oval? Or England?

And it isn't luck. Why did Praveen "King of Swing Mk2" not get as many wickets as Jimmy or Broad?

Because you control swing, seam and bounce. You don't control low bounce.

And if it goes low bounce late, that's because the pitch deteriorates. Most pitches don't start this bad.

Eng have an advantage of winning the toss , it can be really critical provided they get a decent score first up. The pitch will get bad as the sessions go by.

This isn't a grafting wicket, I almost feel you need to play your shots and try and get runs on the board.

And hopefully the umpires are more reluctant to give wickets with the Indian spinners crying wolf every other delivery.
