India vs New Zealand | Semi Final 1, World Cup | Old Trafford | 10th Jul, 2019 | India Innings

Why is it surprising that the greatest FTB of all-time and the greatest bottler of all-time have failed in what should be a straight-forward chase? Not to mention K "L never be on Babar's level" Rahul and the ever useless Karthik. Now if only Pant and Pandya throw it away and Dhoni plays a 20 (85) innings, India will officially start the road to the next World Cup in a worse position than Pakistan.

Yes India should not have batted this poorly but conditions also helping NZ's swing bowlers. It rained most of yesterday and o/n as well.

I dare say Pak would not have fared any better in these conditions

Come again?

Australia lost two semi-finals as well in his time (CT 2002 and 2004) and he failed in them, just like he failed in the semi-finals Australia won.

Not every player has the luxury of playing 6 finals after he has failed in all of those 6 semi-finals.

India are looking comfortable now. NZ need a wicket ASAP. This could be like the 2017 CT game between NZ and Bangladesh

Gilchrist has played 7 semi-finals in his career and failed in all of them. His team were so brilliant that they didn’t need him to make the final.

If Gilchrist played for a lesser team, his failures in the semi-finals would have costed his team a place in the finals and people would now call him bottler.

As I said, you can find holes in every career, and this isn’t the only hole in Gilchrist’s ODI career.

Fantastic! This is the point I was trying to make with Kohli & Rohit! If they get to play the finals, I am sure they won't bottle it! Pant is the man here who has to make that difference in this match and prove our points!

NZ is losing the plot here, this is a puny chase regardless of how slow the pitch is, India can still milk singles to victory. NZ part timers are garbage as well.

Amla is a walking wicket in every ICC tournament at every stage. Give it a rest.

And gets 1% of the hype that Kohli does. Being the greatest bottler of all-time is a combination of stats and the length of your hype train. Kohli not only has the numbers of a tail-ender, he is the most hyped cricketer currently playing and get this: this is his prime. Amla's prime ended in 2015/16 and he's a South African.

170 needed in 180 balls. If these two can get to 120 required in 100, India will be in the game

Ball turning. Need santner to step up and provide a wicket for once.

Yes. Thankfully the mods recovered it.

The hacker opened a thread on Time Pass and apologized for my criticism of Sarfraz and Pakistan in general.

:))

I'm glad you managed to recover your account but jheeze someone on here (poster or pure lurker) obviously is a hacker, who is most likely to be a Sarfraz fan. Not many of those around on PP these days.

If India carries Kohli into the final 7 times like Australia carried Gilchrist, I am sure he will score a match-winning ton once or twice.

Cant downplay three Box office performance in three WC finals. Also Kohli dosent play in a weak team like you're Insinuating. He plays for the supposedly best team in the world.Absurd to compare actual performances against ifs & buts

He is 25ish and knows SFA. 😄

I am 29 and I am not interested in giving Gilchrist credit for being a big match player when he has literally failed badly in every semi-final that he has played.

You and a few others can salivate over his soft 50s in the 1999 final (chasing 133) and in 2003 when he left the job half-done. The 2007 innings was undoubtedly brilliant, but once again he was carried into the final.

Performing in WC >>>>> Performing in CT. CT doesn't even exist anymore lol.

Gilchrist is still head and shoulders above Kohli in World Cup, which is the pinnacle of LOIs.

Indian commentators need to learn to be impartial. Yes it's a tense semi-final match but you are paid to give a balanced insight, not to cheerlead during the highs and moan when your team is going through lows.

Good one spot on

These two have batted well and now game is even

No. If it was DK and Pant still batting, you could have said that. DKs wicket was crucial as he could stay on for a few overs

There was nothing box office about scoring 50 when chasing 133 in the 99 Final. The match was done and dusted before Australia came onto bat and our players had given up.

He just compared Kohli to freaking Gilchrist in WC. Let that sink in.

20 overs almost done which means India won't be going to the finals in case rain arrives.

Good to see you are back with your good wishes for India. You seem to have found your voice again which you lost for a while :)

Pakistan has already chased down a similar score against the same team in similar conditions. The conditions are not extreme, Rohit is simply a FTB, Kohli is a choker and the likes of Rahul and Dinesh are not international material.

Just tuned in, what a disaster. And its still overcast, 4 wkts down, rain around the corner, way behind DLS target, only MSD as a decorative item to come.

Pant and Pandya are the real cornered tigers!

MSD should have come in place of DK, was a perfect opportunity to play his test match innings and shut up his haters. But he choose to guard the tail instead.

I'm happy this match is happening on my day off, yes.

That dropped catch by Neesham could be the turning point. I hope not though.

There is no rain expected during the game.

Rohit got a good ball. Can't blame him. Kohli is a choker and Rahul was a mental midget. I'm pretty sure Dhawan wouldn't have scored many either. It's a deficiency everybody knows. But they are better than English on tricky pitches. Aussies and NZ are probably the only teams that could have handled the first 10 overs

Australia, yes. NZ, nope. Only Taylor and Williamson can hold a bat.

If a WC final fifty @100+ SR is nothing, then hundreds in bilaterals are also meaningless as those matches also mean nothing

Farcical batting by Indian top order. Onus now on IPL rockstars,Pant and Pandya to save pride and any hope of World Cup victory.

If pant can win it for India his innings will be comparable to inzis in 92 semi

Well at least this match didnt turn out to the damp squib that everyone was expecting it to be.

Required run rate now more than 6 though I am not sure at his moment India can afford to be bothered by it

Win predictor says India at 40%. Way too high, can't be more than 20% at this stage. Just a ploy to keep the Indian TV audience from switching off.
