They didn’t play long enough that’s why you think like that. Amir was talented but what do you think, had he not been caught for fixing you think he would have been an ATG by now? The bubble would have burst sooner. May be it is his 1-2 performances vs India making me rate him but yes he was good but not as good as he was hyped. At best he was like the Abbas of LOI bowling. Disciplined with some good basic skills but as long as you played him out, could be neutered like everyone found out later.
Rahat Ali, Sohail Khan

) I think Shaheen to
Some extent and Abbas are better bowlers than those 2.
Wahab has been around forever and he probably will be around forever given he is the only guy who can hit 140+ Consistently without huffing and puffing in spell 2 even though he has his own issues.
Pakistan may have all the talents in the world but they are not handled properly so there is always a question Mark. Talent is only 1/3 of it anyways,
mentoring, self discipline, hunger to learn, management (physical, professional and mental) all make a difference and I don’t see that in too many Pakistani players. Sorry harsh but it’s a fact.
Those days are over when talent can win games alone, there are top shelf analysts, doctors/physicians , coaches that enhance the total package that is a player.
Pakistan is still playing Super Mario era cricket in the day and age of PS5. Sure it may be entertaining and get the job done one in a while but it is what is retro and outdated and not easy on your eyes.
Pakistan should first aim to see how Bangladesh cricket functions and manages their cricket who have a far better system even though lesser quality talent overall than Pakistan.
Then step 2 they need to look at Nzl, how they maximize their resources and produce
Quality cricketers.
After clearing step 1 and 2 then they can think of
Competing with the big 3 especially India which should be the automatic role model for being a neighboring country.
